And pies to name a few.
Are your taste buds warming up yet? Mine sure are. I could hardly stand to flip through the pages of this book without wanting to make everything in it.
Home. Baked. Comfort. Yes, please.
And guess what, else.
This book also includes recipes from several bakeries and bloggers across the country.
Like Smitten Kitchen, Tartine, Cannelle et Vanille, Flour, Baked…
And more.
Maybe even one from someone you know.
With all this yumminess, it was really hard to decide what to bake first. I flipped through the book several times before I finally decided.
When I saw that one of the featured bakeries was from Minneapolis, I knew right away that was the one to try since I’ll be in Minnesota and at Williams-Sonoma in about two weeks for a book signing. (Details here.)
And now, I may just have to stop by this bakery, too.

And her recipe for Chewy Chocolate Meringues is delish.
And easy.
And better yet, only needs four ingredients.
Finely chopped bittersweet chocolate.
Five tablespoons cocoa powder.
Sugar and egg whites.
This photo kinda makes them look like egg yellows though.
Whisk together the egg whites and sugar over – but not touching – simmering water until dissolved.
Remove from heat and beat the egg whites until stiff and glossy.
Then fold in the chocolate and cocoa.
Scoop out the batter on parchment lined baking sheets and bake away.
You want to see cracks. That’s part of what I love about this recipe. No need to try and make anything look perfect. These are already perfectly imperfect.
And oh so good.
They are highly addictive, too. I don’t want to tell you how many I ate before I even finished taking photos…
…but let’s just say that this photo is missing quite a few.
I’m so glad I tried this recipe. I’ve never made meringues before because they never really looked all that appealing to me. But wow! These chocolate ones will be made again. And again.

I love candy but candy corn is my favorite. This cookbook looks so awesome!
Hands down the pumpkins that are like candy corn! I’ve exercised great restraint and not bought any yet.
Candy Corn!! it’s the only time of year I eat them and I love searching for the uniquely shapes pieces that have a candy bubble on them or only have one of the three colors.
Probably kit kats! I love them anytime really but the mini’s are just so much more fun.

I’m still very traditional when it comes to fall/Halloween treats and with candy it’s candy corn. There’s just something about it, when it’s fresh, it just melts in your mouth some type of way. I never eat candy corn any other time of the year because I like to keep the season scent/taste/aroma with it’s appropriate.
Oh gosh…it is sooo hard to choose but I do love the orange, chocolate and white candy corn…I am not sue if it is called candy corn but it is yummy

Candy corn is my all time favorite! However, I have found something new that I love Candy Corn M&M’s!! They are white chocolate and they are divine! Mind you they won’t take the place of my candy corn, but I won’t have any trouble eating another bag;) (or two)

The BEST cookbooks I have all come from Williams Sonoma!
We have about 300 to 400 trick or treaters, so I can pretty much resist all the candy, knowing it will be gone in an hour or two. BUT anything pumpkin flavored does not last long: I cannot resist the pumpkin lattes at Starbucks this time of year, or any pumpkin cookies, muffins, cheesecake, bread. . . you get the idea!
I don’t know what it will be this year! Normally it would be some form of mini chocolate bars, but since becoming pregnant I’ve lost my taste for chocolate and most sweets. It’ll probably end up being the Target-brand Halloween gummy snacks my husband bought me.
This is so original… but I have to (sheepishly) confess to loving the Brach’s candy corn and candy pumpkin mix. Its a guilty pleasure!

This is a tough question. There really isn’t a complete Halloween candy really (other than candy corn). Because most other candy companies dress up their existing brands with oranges, greens, and blacks, I have to say I’m still a sucker for a Reese’s. There is certainly no wrong way to eat those.

Well, I don´t know if it is allowed but i love Chocolate Skulls.
I used to only eat “fruit” candy so skittles, starburst, and jolly ranchers were my faves!
Our family tradition is to make gingerbread jack o lanterns and load them up with candy corn and red hots. Chewy cookie, lemony icing and load of candy. Delicious!

I think I love you even more for admitting that meringues aren’t all that appealing-but those do look fantastic!). ;) In my book, that makes you a TRUE dessert lovah. After all, what’s a treat without something gooey, creamy or sticky? Meringues lack all of the above (unless they are sandwiched with something lovely, of course).
