Happy Sunday! And Happy Father’s Day, too! I’m giving away something sweet to celebrate summer and of course ice cream.
You know, I think I could eat ice cream every day. It’s always my favorite go-to treat when I travel… but I never really get ice cream at restaurants. That just seems boring. Probably because it’s not as fun as going into a scoop shop and looking all the pretty creamy colors. And I always prefer eating ice cream out of a cup. I don’t like to eat it out of a cone because I’m way messy. So if I do get it in a cone, it’s just so I can snap a picture of it. Then I turn it upside down and dump it in a cup and eat it with a spoon – or better yet – I like to break up the waffle cone (never a sugar cone) and use it to scoop out the ice cream. I may be weird.
Okay, back to the giveaway.

My favorite ice cream is Moose Tracks – the first time I ever tasted it, I was with my wife and our 3 kids and we were all out at a small town local ice cream shop. It’s delicious on a chocolate waffle cone!

For decades, my very favorite flavor has always been chocolate marshmallow. It is a yummy chocolate base with thick ribbons of white marshmallow running through it. Whether in a cone or a cup, it is a virtual sundae in one scoop! How can you beat that?
I was looking for a ice cream maker just last week. Most of them weren’t the 2 quart size! Oh what it would be like to make and eat 2 quarts if fresh homemade ice cream! The experimenting of the added goodies….Oreo cookie bits, chopped up Hershey chocolate, peanut butter cups, etc. I can’t wait!!!

Last weekend I tried a new flavour. Panna cotta ice cream with strawberry syrup, with some strawberries on the top.
It was in a cup with a delicious almond cookie.

One of our local Ice Cream Shops makes this Peach Melba Ice Cream that is to die for. It’s one of their seasonal flavors though so I have to wait for it.

I’m definitely a chocolate girl, all the way. The only acceptable variants for me are ones that add *more* chocolate — chocolate chips, chocolate swirl, Oreo pieces. Sometimes I’ll add a bit of cinnamon to the chocolate, but I’ve never been brave enough to try chili powder.
Like you, I prefer bowls to cones, but it’s because I’ve never been too keen on the taste or texture of the cones themselves. Besides, with a bowl, there’s more room for toppings!

I am a huge fan of peanut butter and chocolate ice cream – the kind with big strips of peanut butter goodness randomly throughout the chocolate. So good! I put mine in glass ice cream cups, smother it in melted peanut butter and whipped cream, then add sprinkles and colored sugar.
I have to say, though, I’ve become a huge fan of frozen yogurt. Umpqua has this amazing caramel macadamia nut crunch that tastes better than ice cream to me. I could eat that all the time.

Ice cream is DEFINITELY one of my favorite desserts (I think my 10 month old daughter’s DNA is at least 1/4 ice cream, based on the sheer amount of it I ate while pregnant)! My favorite flavor kinda depends on the brand, but in my opinion you can’t go wrong with pralines and cream, anything cake batter-y, or just plain, old-fashioned vanilla. Forget the cone, just gimme a bowl and spoon and I’m good to GO!

My favorite is a family recipe, Milky Way. We only make it once a year for Independence Day so it’s all the more special. No need for a cone, just a big bowl!

I love anything with a combination of chocolate and coffee :) mint choc chip is my go to flavour and if I am at home I will mix vanilla ice cream with nutella and chopped nuts for a treat. My favourite ice cream shop is Simmos Ice Creamery, they have so many flavours and its all made on site of course its a 2.5 hour drive from my house but when you want good ice cream you have to be prepared to travel :)
Its so hard to choose just one… I would say it’s a fair tie between chocolate and cookie dough…yum! No cones for me–just the taste of sweet, creamy ice cream is enough to hit the spot!
