It’s filled with happy memories and deep sentiment. My tree stand is truly unique too. It was built in the early 1950’s by a friend of my grandfather’s. It’s a beautiful village of houses, church, trees, and small wooden figures from Erzgebirge Germany.

  57. Christmas Eve has been different for the last several years as my husband and I lived in Germany for 4 years. We usually went to midnight mass and that’s about it. 58. My favorite part of the Christmas season is Christmas Eve. My brothers come home and we all enjoy being together just like when we were little. Then the best part…fondue dinner! 145. Our christmas Eve tradition is the our whole family(aunts, uncles, cousins and some close friends) get together at one of our cousins homes. Everyone brings a dish and lots of gifts for the 26 little we now have in the family. Santa comes around 8 pm it is so much fun to watch the little ones being called by santa numerous times. this is something we have been doing as long as I remember.

  146. On Christmas eve each family member gets to open one present and it’s always pajamas which we then change into and just hang out together. And my favorite part of the holidays is always the food :)

I’m going to answer what we do on Chrisas Eve. Growing up my mom always made lasagna since we had my brother & sisters over to celebrate. 148. my favorite part of the holiday season is the baking, obviously!

  149. We are crazy and still do a little last minute shopping before the stores close. Then we attend midnight mass and have homemade doughnuts and milk, before everyone passes out.

  150. Christmas Eve is always pizza and a movie at home. It’s a nice, low-key way to spend the night as a family before all the hustle and bustle of Christmas Day. Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my top movie choices, but A Christmas Story is awesome as well!

  151. We spend it as a family, usually some sort of pot luck, enjoying each others company

  152. We usually spend Christmas Eve with Family. I love the holidays. So happy, such magic. <3

  154. We spend Christmas eve afternoon with extended family. Then we come home and the kids get to unwrap one gift, which is always comfy pajamas to wear to bed. We bake cookies, put them out for Santa and snuggle in bed! By the way, my daughter has the cake pops toy on her Christmas list (yes, already!).

I’m not normally a person who likes routine, but this is one day a year that, regardless of any other chaos going on in life, will be as close to the same each year. It’s nice to have a little consistency during the hectic time of the holidays.

  172. Best part of Christmas is the fellowship. Family, friends, co-workers all together. Everyone just seems to be in a better, more harmonious mood.

  192. Your bell pops are amazingly real! Beautifully done! As for Christmas… when we’re in MD visiting our parents, my parents usually go to Christmas Eve service, my husband takes my MIL to a service Christmas morning, and I go (or stay depending on where we’re sleeping/staying) at my parents’ to get ready for the Christmas meal that my mom’s family and my MIL come for. This year though will be our 5yr old’s FIRST Christmas at home so all bets are off. I’m assuming my husband will take his mother to some service. Other than that… not sure. :)

  199. I love Christmas Eve, going to church, and then having a family gathering with cheese ‘n crackers, mini meatballs, etc., with lots of delectable treats at my sister’s house. Then, it’s time to hurry home to get to sleep, so Santa can come!

  200. I usually spend Christmas Eve finishing up wrapping the last of the Christmas gifts. This year I may switch it up and try and do it all early… by end of November, perhaps? (I say this every year?!)
