  8. For the 4th of July, my family went to the zoo and celebrated my 35th bday, I’m 9 months pregnant so we rented a bike to get around & it was lots of fun, later that night we drove to the beach to see fireworks. I had a blast!

  9. Had the First Annual Big Girls’ Sleepover. My BFFs and I are all over 50, so we don’t stay up all night anymore, but we still had a ball!

  10. I have been going to the beach eating a lot of ice cream!

  11. This summer we’ve gone to the river by the house and had a fun day in the water. We’re also planning to go to the lake soon for more water adventures.

  14. My family and I took a trip to Navarre Beach, FL which is a lovely beach that is not very busy and has alot of sea shells and white sands. It is really lovely and the bathrooms are large and clean! It was a wonderful trip and our girls first beach trip, they are 2 and 3.

  15. Found out I’m going to be a first time grandma! Would love to create cool treats for my daughter as our grandchild grows over this overly hot summer.

  17. This summer for my daughter’s birthday, we hosted our first sleep over with a few of her friends! It was a great time and so much fun!

  18. Well I haven’t done anything yet but my sisters are coming for a birthday get together at the end of the week! Birthdays and ice cream doesn’t get better than that!

  20. I spent a week at the beach with my grandkids and it was the most fun ever! then I spent 5 days with them 4th of July, more fun!!!!

  22. My sister and I spent a week in Florida together. It was the first time we’ve vacationed together as adults. We went to Disney and Universal and acted like we were kids again (only this time, we had husbands in tow)!!

  23. The most fun thing I’ve done this summer was to hand in my resignation at my toxic job and accept a new position of my dreams!

  24. We’ve been at our home for 11 years now and have always wanted to start a garden. So this year we did. We have green beans, peas, broccoli and tomatoes growing like crazy! And in August I get to take a girl’s trip with my sister and mom. We’re going to photograph wild mustangs in Montana. Can’t wait!

  47. We moved, in a heatwave, to a tiny studio (from a much much larger house). There is something exhilarating and exhausting about downsizing and simplifying your life. Plus, it was so hot, I think we deserve an ice cream :)

    My fav memory this summer would definetly b the lemonade stand my friends and i had to raise money for the alberta floods. We had so much fun bakin cookies and brownies for it and we also raised fifty dollars! Maybe next time we could sell ice cream!

  64. Fortunately our weather was decent enough for me to do a make over of my back yard and my favorite thing that I did was to create a fairy garden with my grand daughter.

  66. I opened my dream quilting and yarn shop this spring, and we have been thrilled to be thriving all summer :D

  67. We had a wonderful backyard cookout with games like corn hole toss and horse shoes and roasted marshmallows around our fire pit. I loved hearing all the laughter as everyone had fun!

  68. I took a few days off from work, made sure all housework and yardwork was done on day 1 and the family did nothing but enjoy each other’s company for 3 more days. Turns out my kids are more creative and cooperative than I gave them credit for!

  69. I sang in a chorus with opera singers from NYC to commemorate the life of our local opera director. So inspiring!

  70. We are maintaining a very large garden this summer, a lot of work but huge payoff!

Earlier this summer, I vacationed with my best girlfriend of 30+ years at her home, hung out at the barn where she boards her horses, rode one of them (I haven’t ridden years!) & met her other horse for the first time. Plus we saw Anthony Bourdan & Andrew Zimmern speak & got a chance to meet them. All that was fabulous but best was spending time with her. :)

  85. I went to the Colorado Renaissance Festival with my sisters-in-law. What a blast! Otherwise I’ve spent the summer getting ready for our first baby, expected in November. It has been pretty exciting!

  86. I baked many cookies and it didn’t turn out as I expected, my cookies were super huge but it was still edible so I shared some with my friends and we had a great picnic.

  87. I love spending time with my children- we have fun everyday no matter what we do. So far, we’ve had the most fun swimming and using our blow-up water park. We are looking forward to more fun days ahead!

  89. This summer I spent a week in New England with my brother, sister and sister in law. We traveled as much of the coast as we could including walking the Marginal Way. If you haven’t been up to Maine, I would definitely recommend a trip!

  90. We took the kids to Vegas last month, during the heat wave! Had a blast, too!

  91. We had a wonderful time early this summer riding our enduro motorcycles with our daughter in the mountains. Everyday was an adventure as we geocached and explored.

  92. I went to Mackinac Island (in MI) for a week with the Girl Scouts…it was so much fun! The girl’s work as the Governor’s Honor guards and while we all work very hard we also get to play hard too!

  93. We’ve been planting a most awesome veggie garden this summer, and for the first time have been trying our hands at blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries too!

  95. We have had a blast this summer with our patio garden. We have really enjoyed the fresh vegetables and herbs; so much better than the stuff at the store!

  104. This past weekend I celebrated lots of love! I went to a wedding on Friday, an engagement party on Saturday, and a bridal shower on Sunday. A very busy and fun weekend!

    Also, a few weeks ago I rode a tandem bike for the first time on the OCNJ boardwalk. It’s a lot easier than it looks!

  105. I skipped away to the beach for a few days with my youngest son. Just us! Fun times!

  106. I learned Spanish with MMLA! During the program I took two cooking classes, which was obviously the highlight of the entire month.

  120. I just bought blow up kayaks for me and my husband, and spent a day in the lake. A beautiful, brisk warm breeze kept me spinning around in circles out in the middle of the lake, while my husband was near the bank, fly casting, like he had been using blow up kayaks all his life.

  121. My sister and I (and our little ones) went on a mini vacation for some great bonding time! Second year in a row and can’t wait to do it again next year!! :)

  165. This summer I have worked and didn’t get to do anything fun yet. But I am going to Disney in 20 days!! So then I will have done something fun! :)

  166. this summer i started decorating our first nursery–expecting triplets this fall and having so much fun planning and preparing!

  167. After living in our house for 28 years we are completely gutting our kitchen/living area. Removed the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room to open up the space. Put in new flooring, cupboards, appliances, lighting. It will be like having a new house.
    We went camping for a week to be out of the house while they did the messiest if the work. We are now living in our camper trailer in a feiend’s driveway till it is done, because, of course, there were bumps and it is taking longer than planned.

  170. Our summer has been a blast!! June is always the highlight of our summer—our youngest daughter turned 2 and our oldest daughter turned 4 the same day my dad turned 63! Add Father’s Day to the month and it is one party after another!

  178. I have been debating the purchase of an ice cream maker all summer. One of the best things we’ve done all summer is when my daughter came home from her first year of college, we played tourist in our own town. Went to all of the attractions and shopped local at all of the downtown merchants. It was great and I got to know a lot of the shop owners right in my own town.

  182. I got a new sewing machine so I can finally get to all of those fun projects I’ve been planning! :) Also, I LOVE Jeni’s. When I moved away from Columbus it was an adjustment to not being close to Jeni’s stores so I could have her awesome creations all the time. Now I demand them when I go back to visit!   200. Nice giveaway! We bought a projector and had an outdoor movie with the kids. For our first showing we chose a classic that our kids hadn’t seen, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. :-)
