Cake Art Party Store! I started going here about two years ago when the baking and cake decorating bug bit me. When I first walked in, I was overwhelmed. Actually, I’m still overwhelmed. There’s so much stuff I don’t know… don’t even have a clue about… but I feel like I learn something new every single time I visit. Unfortunately, I can’t do that very often because this store makes me spend money.
Like on these things. I’m serious… this place is dangerous. I think I get a sugar high or something when I walk in … my heart starts racing … I start picking random stuff up. And when I get home, bags full… I’m like, what just happened.
But, when you see all these… in one place. You start thinking… do I have enough yellow sprinkles. I can’t remember. Okay, get some more and get some blue ones, and red ones while you’re at it.
And then, you start thinking that you can’t live without blue teddy bear sprinkles or green palm tree sprinkles, or pink pigs. And what if someone has a baby… I need those baby sprinkles or wait, boys like cupcakes… what about helmet and football sprinkles. You see where I’m going. Let’s just say that I have accumulated my fair share of sprinkles.
The funny thing is … I hardly ever use them on cupcakes or cakes. It just makes me feel good knowing I have them just in case. I know … weird! But, they do come in handy when it comes to decorating cake pops, so that’s how I justify it.
You can even buy them in bags!
Here’s something I’ve never tried… and I think I’ll leave for the pros… Airbrush! Pretty colors, though.
Speaking of colors… did you know you can buy rolled fondant that is already tinted?
I started doing this recently with red fondant because it is seriously a pain to tint it yourself and get it a deep red color.
Now, a lot of people don’t like the taste of fondant, they just like the look of it from a visual perspective. So, if you just want to experiment, then play around and buy it pre-made. Just don’t get this much. You can stick with the 1 pound packages.
Or if you really want, make some from scratch. I hear marshmallow fondant is pretty good.
Anyone need 25 lbs of buttercream frosting?
Or tinted buttercream?
Not me. I like to make my own buttercream and tint it myself. Yummy!
Need some petit four icing? Just snip the tip and go. Great for beginners.
Marzipan… I haven’t dabbled in this stuff yet, but I do like saying the name. Marzipan!
Check this out! This might just be the best part of the store. Pans! Round ones, oval ones, heart-shaped ones, square ones! And in graduated sizes, too! And different heights! Help me, please.
Tools. I love tools. Offset spatulas and flat spatulas. Thank you.
Inside these little trays are every decorating tip you can think of and some you can’t. Grab some disposable bags and couplers and you’re set.
There’s so much stuff in the store that you can miss little things like this. Petal dust and luster dust… I think I’m in love. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with it.
Need to stack a big cake? Sorry, I can’t help you… haven’t done that.
Mine are little and usually just end up on cake boards like these.
And sometimes, they get put in cake boxes. I love cake boxes. Especially the tiny ones.

Need some party supplies? They have that, too.

Tons and tons of plastic cake toppers. I’ve never bought anything down this aisle…
But, this one made me laugh so hard, I almost bought it for a Mother’s Day cake. Then, I pictured myself on Cake Wrecks and stopped myself. :)
Father’s Day is around the corner, though…
Almost done… hang in there. Cookie cutters are always fun to have.
And so are these. I have this set of dual sided graduated cutters. I love them and they come in super handy when I make fondant covered cupcakes.
Gadgets galore! I can’t stand in this section too long because my pantry just isn’t big enough.
And guess what… that’s just the half of it. Actually, the 1/8th of it. I wish I could show you everything.

Candy molds! I don’t use them nearly enough, but they are so easy to make and always come out cute.
My favorite baking item are my grandmothers old bread pans. When she passed away, I got a few before my aunts took them all. I love having them… every time I use them I think of her and baking bread in her kitchen!
I love my mini muffin pans – I use 4of them at least once or twice a week (my kids love pumpkin muffins and banana choc. chip muffins)
Also, marshmallow fondant is WAAAAAAAY better than regular and pretty easy to make too.

Oh my goodness. What an awesome store. I’d go broke after my first trip. My favorite baking tool is my batter dispenser. It makes muffins without the mess, and can even make pancakes and waffles. It’s easier to let me 3 yr old fill the cups with it than with a spoon, and we really do not want her pouring from that big mixing bowl.
I think one of my favorite tools is my lazy susan, it allows me to get around everything so much easier. As for sprinkles I’m just beginning to collect them, so I haven’t really figured out one that I am missing yet, except for all of them. Hee! Hee!

I use my batter scoop a lot! From making cookies to grabbing the perfect amount for cake pops, it is so handy. I think my ‘coolest’ baking tool is the edible ink markers though. I love them!

I love that store! I am a newbie in the baking arena…and am falling for the sport hard and fast. I tried your cake pops and had so much fun with them. I love the little flower shaped cookie cutters that I bought for the cake pops. They made a wonderful arrangement of Mother’s Day flowers!

I love the cake spinner I got a few years ago. Just makes me feel awesome and anal retentive.
since I use it pretty much everytime I bake, I just love my Kitchen Aid mixer. Couldn’t make a cake without it!
For me, the best investment ever was my spinning cake plate. It’s made icing my cakes neater, simpler, and much faster than before. I love it! I also love your blog. Your creativity is astounding.
I would be broke if a store like that was nearby… but on the other had I LOVE sprinkles! But my favorite baking tool would have to be my Wilton spatula or maybe my 9″ Wilton round pans… oh I love it all just cause using them means I’m doing my favorite thing BAKING!!!!

Are you kidding me?!? I lived in Atlanta for the past 3 years, I had no idea that store was there! Now, I live in SC, not too far away, but far enough that it wouldn’t be a quick afternoon trip, either. My fav baking tool would probably be Pam with flour. I have always hated preparing pans and now I don’t have to!
I’m new to your site and i fell in love at first visit. I am a baking newbie but have signed up for baking classes to start in June after my wedding. Oh how i went crazy at Party Time in town but i couldn’t find any graduation cap sprinkles for my husband to be’s surprise graduation party so, that would be what i would look for but my favorite item to use is baking cups of all designs and colors. Well,I love sprinkles too.I use to go to an Amish bulk store that had tons.We moved last year to another state..BUT before we moved I stored up on everthing they had.My kids call me the sprinkle queen :)

My favorite tool is my pastry blender…for years, I used 2 knives to “cut” the butter/shortening in…but I got a pastry blender, and my life makes sense again… :)

I didn’t realize until a few weeks ago when my husband DROPPED AND BROKE my Kitchen Aid Silicon Spatula how valuable it is to me! I absolutely love the way that it scrapes every little bit of batter or icing off of the side of the stainless steel bowl from the mixer, and other spatulas or spoons do not come near the perfection it provides. I have GOT to get another one!

Bakerella!!! What a super fun store!!! I so wish we had one of these in my town! The sprinkle isle in my craft store is put to shame by these sprinkles! I have been looking for neat pastel sprinkles or even some bright flourescent ones~who knows if I will stumble upon them or have to find them on the internet! My favorite sprinkles that I have been given are the pink piggies! How fun! I am just like you…always thinking I need plenty but not sure when or if to use them….but I am starting my first round of cake pops this week so you know I will need plenty:)! Favorite baking tool is the stand mixer I finally splurged on, keeps me hands free and able to do more than one thing at a time. Where were the mother’s day cake pops, I remember some superdad ones?

I love gadgets for the kitchen. The one thing that I can’t live without is my Kitchen Aid mixer. The other is my mini food processor for grinding graham crackers, bread crumbs, cranberries, etc. I just got back from seeing my daughter who lives 7 hours away, I am a sprinkle nut. I organized hers, let’s just say I have to join a 12 step program. I would spend hours in that cake store if it was close to me!!!
Holy Cow!! I have lived in Georgia all my life and decorated cakes, etc for most of my life. I never knew of this cake utopia and right under my nose too! Wow!! Good thing it’s not too close, I’d be in major debt! I have several favorite tools, and I adore alllll sprinkles. But I think one of my favorite things would be my professional cake stand. It is heavy duty, has a large rectangular side and a large circular side. I can put heavy cakes on it and it will still rotate easily. It’s awesome! and btw, I love your blog (except for the fact that it causes me to spend way too much money!!lol)
I love my KitchenAid stand mixer! I use it for everything. Mmmm… Sprinkles!
I love the tiny spatulas that I own. They are perfect for lifting cookies off the baking sheet!

Holy cow that’s a lot of cake decorating supplies! And speaking of cows, I found my own personal favorite sprinkles in the shape of little brown, black and white cows at a local farmers market near my office. So cute!!

Well, my sprinkle selection is sadly lacking. Usually I just decorate with frosting. I could really use a butterfly cookie cutter. Where did you say that store is? I could really do some damage in there!:0

I’m going to echo someone else and go with the Silpat as my favorite. I use it all the time.
I could spend my entire year’s salary in that store! Can it count that my Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer is my favorite tool? Prior to receiving it as a Christmas gift, I had to make things like royal icing with a HAND MIXER. The horror of it still haunts me!

I love the flat spatulas. My roommate at college taught me how to properly ice cakes and things and it’s so hard to do since she moved out and took her flat spatulas with her!

HOLY MOLY! I would go BROKE in that store! Not only do I love sprinkles my 2 year old daughter does too…everytime she opens the pantry she sees the little bowl of all different colored sprinkles and wants some! Needless to say I don’t give her many because of the mess…however he dad gave her a bowl full the other day and I am still getting them out of my carpet! :D But you can never have too many sprinkles! I love sprinkles! Easiest way to decorate cupcakes with kids. I recently had a bad sprinkle experience though. I bought black sprinkles to use on my son’s Star Wars cupcakes and they turned out to be not so much black as dark green. I wrote to the company to express my disappointment and they kindly replaced them but the new ones are dark green too. Fortunately my 7 year old wasn’t the least bit bothered by it…
That store looks so fun…looks like I coul spend hours in there! My favorite baking tool is definitely just the good ole Kitchen Aid mixer…makes life so much easier!

my favorite tool is this cookie press i got for christmas a while back. not the normal wilton brand, but it’s a suisse brand that came with a zillion tips and cookie discs!
I would love to find a sprinkle similar to the type Sprinkles uses on their Black & White cupcakes. I think that they just look so neat, I don't know if they are something special for them or what, but I really love them.

Wow, I would feel as if I had died and gone to heaven if I ever walked into that store! I love all kinds of kitchen gadgets, but baking items are my fav! I have made my kids birthday cakes and finally bought an icing spatula and it’s made things so much easier!

Sanding sugars are so pretty. I love the way they look on a cup cake. I’ve just recently picked up a few shaped sprinkles and the kids love them.

This store looks amazing. I don’t know whether to be sad one is not near me, or happy since it’s probably saving me money. I’m not sure what my favorite decorating item would be. I will have to say the cheesy but true “imagination.” Because things don’t often look the way I hope and an imagination is needed to view properly.
The best most universal tool I have are the silpats. I use them for baking/cooking/cake decorating.

My favorite baking item is Wilton’s Cake Release goop. It’s that stuff that you smear in the cake pan before you pour in the batter. Cakes just sliiiiiide right out! Keeps the frustration level down to a dull roar. LOL

That place looks amazing! There is a shop like that near me in the centre of town and I look at it and think… nooo… slippery slope into extreme credit card debt! When I have finished uni I am going SHOPPING.

My latest favorite tool is the stacking cupcake carrier. It’s nice to be able to stack 36 cupcakes into one carrier. But since I’ve been bitten by the cupcake-making-bug (and therefore shopping a lot), it probably won’t be my favorite for long! :)
