Wowzers!

I can’t believe it. A ton of you made Bakerella Cake Pops for Easter. I didn’t expect so many of you to run out and do it. (The chicks, the bunnies, the eggs and even the sheep!) And you did a fantastic job at them too I might add. I feel like a proud parent excited to hang their children’s artwork on the fridge or something. Not that you guys are like children, but you know what I mean. I’m just, just so proud for you all because I know you must have made a lot of people smile.

Now, let’s take a look at a few of them in this sweet little showcase.

Stephanie

These cute little bunnies are checking each other out. Yay, Stephanie! You did it.

chelsi

This chick would win a staring contest. I didn’t know a cake pop could be so intense and so cute at the same time. Courtesy of Chelsi.

Jessie

Here are some really cute bunnies with chunky ears. Jessie is getting creative and I like it.

christie

Chicks, chicks and more chicks from Christie.

julia_sugartree

Julia from onceuponasugartree.com gets the award for most ambitious. She tried her hand at all four.

Amanda

Inspired by the chicks, Amanda made a bunny version.

summer

And we can’t forget chicks without sticks. These almost look like they’re ready for the bathtub. Great job Summer!

Leesa

And an Egg-cellent job on these colorful baskets from Leesa.

Alison_Sherry

Alison & Sherry know how to make some smooth chicks. And check out those flowers peeking out in the back. Cuteness!

Kate_Kelsey

Kate & Kelsey made these cutie-patootey cake pops.

Melanie

Melanie made some eggs, too. Or did she just hollow out real eggs and put them on a stick. Hmmm. I wonder.

kati

Kati even made some cute chicks with little easter bonnets.

Terry

I’m loving the color on these with their cute little bunny faces. Terrific Terry!

kerry

And check out Kerry. She gets bonus points for the Peep-achu!

Melissa

These final four are from Melissa. Great job!

Way to go bakerellas! Thank you so much for sharing your photos with me and I hope you don’t mind me sharing them with everyone else.

Feel free to link to yours in the comments if you made them, too. I didn’t do a great job keeping track of all the photos, so I’m sure I missed some that were sent to me.

    http://larecetadelafelicidad.blogspot.com/2009/05/bizcopollos.html

  8. so how do ya’ll get them so smooth? I tried and mine looked deformed :( Also, I had a hard time keeping them on the sticks! Any tips?

  9. Thank you Bakerella! I just thought you had posted them and I had missed it! I’m willing to see what you are going to surprise us with next! Have a nice weekend!

  10. SandeeA -Sorry, I should have been more clear. I made some, but I haven’t posted those yet. I have bunches that have never been showcased on the site.

  11. Really? I hadn’t seen them in your blog… I’m going to look for them right now!!!! Thank you, and have a nice day!

  12. SandeeA – I’ve done the same ones, well, minus the feet.

  13. Hi Bakerella, i’ve made them also, although I slightly changed them… have not published yet in my blog, but you can see them here

… thank you so much for your wonderful ideas!

  14. I just LOVE your blog!! Your goodies look Amazing! I am going to try the Cupcake pops for Mothers Day this week. I posted about you on my blog, Your Fabulous!

  15. I did the cake bites/balls for the first time yesterday and they were super yummy. I used devil’s food cake with caramel frosting (don’t recommend it – too sweet) and covered them in dark chocolate. I even stuffed a few with a candied cherry. Those were SO good!! Your blog is awesome!!

  16. Thanks so much for the tips! I haven’t had a chance to re-try them, but I’m hoping to get to them this weekend.

    Thanks!

  17. Mine had Good n Plenty ears-they looked more like gerbils, lol. I ended up just making balls and sprinkles. I think I made them too big or added too much frosting to the crumbs, they were too heavy. Check out my pics and funny story on my blog http://BizzarroSupermom.blogspot.com

  18. RachelMarie – I use merckens, make n mold or Kroger grocery store brand.

Make sure the balls are chilled before you dip, and that the bowl is deep enough and the chocolate thin enough. Adding shortening can help.

You’ll still need to tap gently to allow the excess chocolate to fall off.

  19. These are the ones we made…lots of work and dreams of cake pops for days…

    http://onesouthernmommacooks.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-pops-take-2.html

    You’re awesome, Bakerella!

  20. I made the eggs for a my friend’s preschool Easter party. They were a hit and I made sure to give credit where credit was due! You’re fantastic!

    Here’s the link, {We have a private blog, so I invited you if you want to peek in}

    http://lisaowens.blogspot.com/2009/04/crafty-creative-copycat-and-crazy.html

  21. I’m just using the bagged chocolate wafers from the craft store…I hadn’t thought that the type of chocolate might be the issue…do you have any particular kind to recommend?

As far as the gentle tapping goes, I usually wind up losing almost all the chocolate when I do that.

I don’t usually have such a problem with things like this, so I am DETERMINED to get a good batch out one of these days.

  22. I have never seen a cupcake pop! I love them!!!! What a great idea and it would be perfect for a wedding! Very cute :)

  23. what kind of chocolate are you using?

Gentle tapping is how you get them smooth. It allows the excess candy coating to fall off.

  24. Okay, I’ve been attempting to make these pops (in various shapes and forms, including plain old cake balls) and I cannot for the life of me to get the chocolate to come out smooth.

It’s not that it isn’t melting nicely, but if I let them cool at room temperature, the chocolate slides off and puddles around the bottom, and if I stick them in the refrigerator, the outside of the chocolate hardens, but before the layer closest to the cake hardens, it all slides off and makes a bigger mess! I’ve tried freezing them before I dip, and all manner of mixing and matching the above mentioned methods, and still, no luck.

    What am I doing wrong??

  25. Leesa – no problem

    Anonymous – yum

Lesa – I’m working on that. It’s happened a few times. I think it has something to do with being in the freezer too long or the mixture expanding or something.

misscrys – I would roll and dip on the same day. But, you can make the cake ahead.

    \

  26. These look amazing!!

Bakerella, I was wondering if you have any inspirational ideas in that noggin of yours for a 30th birthday. Mine. I’m wanting to knock the socks off my guests and I know cake pops will definately do it, but I’m lacking ideas.
Also, we don’t get candy melts in NZ, I’m assuming white chocolate with food colouring will do the same thing?

  27. LOVED all the Easter pops! I finally tried making some cake pops for the first time and they are SO good! I can’t wait to make them again. Thanks for such a fun idea! Mine were Earth Day inspired (Tree pops and Ladybug bites): http://www.lafujimama.com/2009/04/tree-pops-and-ladybug-bites.html

  28. Cute, cute, cute!! I’m planning on making some cake pops for a leadership training that I’m in charge of. In order to relieve stress on the day of the event, I was hoping to make the pops ahead of time, leaving only the dipping in chocolate for the day of the event. Is this possible–can they be frozen?? Any tips????

  29. We tried them too… it was so much fun…I think I am addicted to these little cuties! Hopefully we will get better the more we make! Heres the link
    http://tryin2survive.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-baking.html
Also, question… Some of ours cracked..why does that happen?
    Thanks!

  30. Bakerella! thanks for the shout out! how cool to see my egg pops show up on your site! :-) thanks for all the creative ideas and great tips on how someone can make them as well!

  31. Thanks for this fun idea, I just made some Mickey Mouse shaped ones for my daughter’s 2nd birthday and they were a hit!

  32. I made some chick pops! They turned out super cute and I got tons of compliments on them! Plus, so many “cute” treats aren’t that tasty to eat, but your cake pops are GOOD as well as CUTE! Love it!

    http://theatoztwins.blogspot.com/2009/04/before-were-all-done-with-easter.html

  33. I made a basketful of cupcake pops and it looked awesome. My sons party was such a hit and parents were asking to take some home for siblings. I posted pictures on my blog

    http://abushelandpeck.blogspot.com/2009/04/cupcake-pops-cake-awesome.html

  34. I am blown away!!! Ladies, you guys are super talented … and very patient!!!!! Maybe one day I will do cakepops … maybe. :o)

  35. Thanks for the inspiration, Bakerella. The pops travelled well in my bike basket and were a hit at Easter Brunch.

    http://monkeymartini.blogspot.com/2009/04/egg-pops.html

  36. I made some, too :) Of course, yours are the best, but looks like you got some competition from your post!! You can see mine here: http://dmwrightbooks.wordpress.com/2009/04/12/easter-grass-is-a-pain-in-my/
Thanks for sharing your recipes so we all could try it!

  37. Wow, these all look soo amazing!! It’s so great to see how artistic everyone was and how different they are came out. One persons take on a theme can be quite different than anothers, that and the fact that you never know what can happen when you start baking-somehow-these little pops can take on a life of their own and come out GREAT!! Thanks for all the ideas and inspiration Bakerella–u r the best!!!!! Can’t wait to see what hatches up next, lol!! PS–Your Cake Pops for a Cause were AMAZING-what a way to help others while creating beautiful delish treats–kudos to u!!!!

  38. Those are all awesome ! I really wish I could do those, they look adorable, and must taste great too! Too bad we don’t find half the stuff needed here in France… Congrats everyone !

  39. Thanks Bakerella!! My best friend and I had our own little cake pop party! The eggs and chickies were so cute!!

  40. We made some too! My DD7 and I had fun trying to make some chick pops – our first try wasn’t so great but they tasted good and still looked cute. We will try again and hope to find more of the supplies needed – that was difficult. Thank you SO much for the fun creative food project!

    Marann

  41. We did them too! SUCH FUN! My 6 & 7 yr old girls loved it!

    http://hthr.wordpress.com/2009/04/17/6732/

  42. I made some too! We put sanding sugar on the chicks to make it look as if they just got their first feathers and we attempted carrots.
My husband loved participating! I’ve included the link to pictures below.

Thank you for the wonderful idea!

    http://www.cupcakesinchicago.blogspot.com

  43. I tried them too but they kept falling off the stick & we thought they tasted too sweet so once I had half of them done with the chocolates I gave up & threw them out.
    I will try again though!

  44. Help!!!! I need your creative mind! my daughter´s first birthday party is coming up in a couple of months and I decided on a baby bear/flowers theme…can you help me with ideas for cake pops with these shapes???? Thanks!!!!!

  45. Okay! I am officially beside myself! You guys have blown me away. I had no idea so many of you had made these.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing photos with me.

    Sarah – Yes… look in October 08

miss – i link to it on the posts that use it.

    Blythe’s Mom – that’s cool!

Gina – Yay! Go Gina’s husband

    MMW – hilarious!

momof4sweetsisters – try re-dipping if it happens again.
    pens – try americolor brand

Mark and Meghan – YES. let the cake cool 1000% and try using less icing next time.

Janulka – Thank you. I dream of going to Greece someday.

Sue – Check Oct o8 for pumpkins. Snowmen I’ve done, but I can’t remember if I posted them.

Christine – thin chocolate and a deep bowl

Betty-Ann – I think your hubby is on to something. I don’t keep them in the freezer for long at all.

And try to roll them a little looser.

Erin – there’s a link in the posts I use them on. It’s americolor brand

Megan – thinner chocolate and a deeper bowl should do the trick.

    thin with shortening.

    Willow – I agree!

Kay – that’s sweet of you to say. thanks

  46. I tried to make them, too! But mine totally suck compared to the others. Good thing they were DELISH! yumo!

    http://mommy23monkeys.com/2009/04/11/i-am-no-bakerella/

  47. I love the chicks and sheep the best. I will definitely try this next time.

  48. My friend Christine was feeling ambitious and made the Chicks-on-a-Stick. I was pretty impressed with her results, check it out!

    stefaniedaun.blogspot.com

Thanks for all the great ideas!!!

    Stef

  49. I tried to make cake pops, but dear Bakerella I need your guidance, they didn’t turn out as planned! Here are my carrot cake carrot pops. Ill try again with another vegetable perhaps…but they did taste quite good!

    http://earlgreytruffle.blogspot.com/2009/04/wabbit-food.html

  50. Those are so cute! I keep meaning to try cake pops out but it’s so hard to find the right things in the UK! The next time I visit my boyfriend’s family in the states, I am definitely going to try them out.

  51. Those are so adorable! Great job to all! Maybe I’ll join in next year … this year was focused on making homemade chocolate peanut butter eggs. Also yummy!

  52. Everyone’s pops look so great!! I’m uber-impressed. What a great trend you’ve started!

  53. I had a great time making cakepops and cupcake bites over Easter! Check them out here:
    http://www.dlparr.com/news/

Thanks for the fun ideas!! :-)

  54. Bakerella, I tried…but they were a little bit sad. Mine were just cake balls (they kept falling off the stick…were they too heavy?)that my friend and I decorated. I’m so impressed with everyone else.
    Thanks for all the inspiration!

  55. I have to say, you are one of the most generous people ever. I’ve attended different cake classes and I’ve been lucky enough to have teachers that do not withhold information. If they think it will help their students, they share it. And you are one of them.

Hearing from my other friends, there are people who don’t do that, holding on to information for their own benefit.

So thank you, for being so kind as to share your creativity with us.

  56. We did Easter Fun as well and are invited to do them for Relay for Life. The details are all worked out and order forms are being passed around.

Also at this link? A tutorial on how to eat them by little Haley

I don’t know if those links will work, but THEY WERE SO FUN!!!

  58. Oh man – I discovered your blog today and I fell COMPLETELY IN LOVE. It somehow captures something really sweet and lovely and simple…or something. Anyway, if life had more cake pops in it, I think it would be a lot better. :)

I also mentioned your blog in mine (Hot Cinnamon Spice.) :D Check it out…http://the-hcs.blogspot.com/

Thanks for totally brightening my day.

  59. I made some with my boys. We had a blast making them!

    http://healthierlifeofkelly.blogspot.com/2009/04/sorry-so-long.html

  60. http://www.yamstamps.com/weblog/2009/04/ready-for-a-good-laugh-my-creative-baking-effort.html

Not my best efforts ever, but my son loved them, and it was fun!!! lol

  61. I made cake pops as well! People went NUTS over them!!! I found them much harder to shape than I anticipated. Also I had a small mishap with the pink eggs…but that’s not for this posting. ;)

  62. Oh, so cute. I made them too (with OREO truffle in the middle instead of cake…mmmmm) and posted them on my blog at http://www.piccolinadesigns.blogspot.com
We used them as treats for our Sunday school class and all the adults thought they were store made. So much fun. I can’t wait to see what else you come up with. Have you thought of doing some for a baby shower? hint, hint :)

  63. That is really cool. Great to see everyone’s beautiful pops.

  64. Who wouldnt want to make them… you shouldnt be that surprised!! your work is AMAZING!

  65. I also saw a couple of cupcake baskets (from the past entry -eye candy-) on Flickr, cute as well!

  66. Cake pops made an appearance at our Easter table, too! And the leftovers went with our daughter to pre-school on Monday. They were a hit EVERYWHERE!

Check out the photos on my blog at:

    http://www.gator-4-life.blogspot.com

  67. Me and My girls did some also. They rolled the balls and I dipped them. The next day they did all the decorating. There is some pictures on my blog.

I think the girls did pretty good for 7,8 and 10 yr olds.

  68. Mine were not nearly as cute as these. But, they were better than my Hello Kitty Pops I attempted!
    http://ourcrazyblessedlife.blogspot.com/2009/04/ok-here-is-my-second-attempt-at.html

  69. I made some easter eggs and chicks. You can see them on my blog http://mushaboomworld.blogspot.com

  70. I would make them if only I could, but you can’t get candy melts or candy corn in England, and I’m not too sure about heart sprinkles and rainbow chips either. *sigh*
I’m just gonna have to order a big stash off the net and make a massive batch of cake pops in the summer, when I have an event I can sell them at, cuz I’d never be able to eat that many myself…

  71. I made chicks and eggs! I was going to attempt to document the process, but once I got started I couldn’t stop and so pictures fell by the wayside. So much fun! And they’re soooo cute! Friends had a dessert buffet to celebrate Easter (what can I say – I have some great friends!) and they were a hit. I heard a lot of “they’re almost too cute to eat… almost.” And then they were gone… every last one of them! I think I may have to start making them for every holiday!

  72. HI!! I also tried the cupcake and chick lollipops this weekend and I found it really hard to dip. The balls would fall off of the stick. Should I freeze them longer or did the cream cheese frosting make them too heavy? Here are mine http://designstat.blogspot.com/

  73. We made the cupcakes! They were a huge hit!!!

    http://sweeturnip.wordpress.com/2009/04/15/easter-times/

  74. I made cake pops this easter as well. But I stuck to the basics, like just making them without the fanciness. I’ll move up someday…

  75. I made them with my nieces over the weekend.

    http://thesinglesister.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-cake-pops.html

So much fun and so yummy! They were a big hit with the gals at work.

  76. HAD to make the chick cake pops for Easter! Made a bouquet in a flower pot with shredded tissue paper as grass. Too cute! http://www.flickr.com/photos/zenmom96/3444452439/

Also blogged about cake bites I made previously. I’m seriously addicted.

    http://moomama96.blogspot.com/2009/04/more-cupcake-bites.html

  77. I made some too and they were definitely a hit, very time consuming but worth it!

    Lauri

You can see them on my facebook page:
    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2442328&l=93989bd24f&id=594662958

  78. Thanks for the shout out! I did chick pops in addition to my coconut headed bunnies.

Chick photos are accessible from this post: http://www.dailybaxter.com/post/92252052

  79. I couldn’ anything suitable for bunny ears, so I did chicks and eggs. Here are mine…

    http://www.lawyermom3000.com/?p=273
Everyone loved them, even though they looked pretty “homemade” to me. haha. I look forward to trying different ones in the future.

(I had trouble with the edible pens too. I hope you post what brand you use…)

Thanks for the wonderful ideas Bakerella!

  80. my family and i made the little chicks-but added a little personality to all of them. Check them out http://erinevelyn.blogspot.com/2009/04/hot-chicks.html

  81. Oh, I made Easter cake pops, you bet! And now there are many family members wanting to give them a try! The chicks on sticks are my favorite. (I’m going to try making baseballs and Wayne State cupcake bites for my niece’s ball team/
    family potluck this weekend.)
*I had a bit of trouble with the coating cracking on some of them after they cooled. My husband thinks the cake inside expanded or something once they warmed up from the freezer. Did I pack the balls too tightly?! Ever have any problem like this…Any ideas?!?!?
    Anyone?!?!?!

  82. Mine were a little lumpy, but they turned out fun! and I used chocolate covered sunflower seeds for the beaks and wings. You can see pics on my blog.

  83. Que colorido mas bonito!!! me encanta tu blog! soy fan tuya! ojala me atreviera a hacer estas maravillas
    Besos

  84. I wanted to share my version of the Chicks on Sticks also. Here is the link to my blog where you can see them. You are AWESOME and I love how you inspire so many of us. :)http://www.lizzybellsfrozendelights.blogspot.com/
    The teachers loved them.

  85. mine are at http://markandlana.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter.html
I need to try these about ten more times to get good at them. Thanks Bakerella for the cute idea!

  86. I didn’t get mine nearly as cute, but I ended up liking the final result.

    http://www.flourblossoms.com/2009/04/robins-egg-green.html

  87. Wow…I’m inspired! Any suggestions on how to fashion an Elmo cake pop?

  88. I made chicks and eggs, and they were a huge hit.

I added a bit of “flair” to the chicks…an extra sprinkle on the top for a but of fluff. They turned out really cute!

    http://makeawhisk.com/2009/04/easter-cake-pops/

  89. I made the chicks, too! Your directions are always so helpful and easy- thanks for letting us be your copycats!

    http://tickledpinkcupcakery.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter.html

  90. I made them, too–but I mine would not stay on the sticks. I used a supermoist cake mix–do you think thats why???

  91. WOW! Everyone did such an amazing job! I didn’t have the extra time to try these out this easter, but they are definitely on my To-Do list for next year!!!

    Way to go everyone!!!

    Karyn :o)

  92. Here are mine! And a photo of one sad little chick who didn’t make it :(

    http://ohapostrophe.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter.html

  93. i made some chicks too!!! Mine werent nearly cute enough compared to these little ditties!!

  94. We posted our Easter cake pop photos on our blog yesterday at http://forkyoublog.wordpress.com/
We had a great time making them and will make more in the future.
Thanks for the inspiration and the instruction – your ideas are brilliant! We love your blog!!

  95. I Just fell in love with these from your posting but didn’t get to making a batch this year :( Maybe next!

  96. My boys made the cupcakes–not nearly as cute as yours, but they had a ball.
    http://bowfamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-cupcakes.html

  97. Ok, I had to make them too- just too cute not to! Is there a trick to keep them from falling off the stick when dipping them? I keep them in the freezer as I dipped around 5 at a time before they got warm and started falling into the coating- lots of “mistakes” for me to taste test :) Thanks Bakerella!

  98. I made chicks for Easter…they were a huge hit. I couldn’t find the cute decorations that you used for the feet, but found some Tigger and Pooh sprinkles that seemed to work. :-) Your work is amazing….thanks for sharing.
    http://patspatuniapatch.blogspot.com/2009/04/cute-chicks.html

  99. We made ourselves sick eating the ones that didn’t work! I will post pics this week, I will! Otherwise it will be too far gone.

Our results were not that great. I think we need to tweak some ingredients, including the candy coating…

I’ll be linking back to ya when I post, so if you can tell what we did wrong, LET US KNOW! lol

  100. I didn’t even think of sending a pic! But I did try the bunny pops-and it was a disaster! :) But, I tried again and came up with these adorable bunnies without sticks! I didn’t get the best pictures though! Take a peek at my blog!

    http://amberdawn75.blogspot.com/2009/04/more-bunnies.html

  101. Oh, my!

I am so impressed. Now I am feeling like I may actually be able to try one of these ideas some day.

    Fabulous job, ladies!!!

  102. I must confess I too made them. But would you believe I didn’t take any photo’s? oops! They did turn out great though. I plugged your blog every where. Thanks so much for all the inspiration.

  103. My girls and I made cake pops and the Easter basket cup-cakes. Made the pops to big and had problems with them falling off the stick, but the kids loved them anyway. Thanks for the inspiration Bakerella :o)

  104. Wow! You have some talented readers. The colorful eggs…can’t believe the detail. Leesa has some major patience! Go girl!

  105. So CUTE and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YUMMIE!

  106. bakerella, you are definitely our role model for the cake pops :) i was also inspired by you, and i want to make one of it soon :D *big hugs*

  107. Here are my chickies..
    http://stampingandscrappin.typepad.com/photoaday_2009/2009/04/credit-for-cake-pops.html

and I tried Lop earred bunnies but I think they ended up looking like my puppy..
    http://stampingandscrappin.typepad.com/photoaday_2009/2009/04/april-10-2009-easter-puppies.html

I have ideas of pumpkins, snowmen and many others dancing in my head already…thank you!!!

  108. Let’s all let out the collective…AWWWW!

  109. My daughter and I made the chicks on Saturday. We made close to 50, and they took almost 4 hours! But were stinkin cute and a big hit at Easter. I had my nieces and nephew all jacked up on sugar! I’ll post pics as soon as my daughter gets them off the camera. But they were a lot of fun. Very time consuming, and now the smell of the candy makes my tummy flip a bit, but I’d definitely make them again. Thanks so much for the tutorial! We had a blast.

  110. They’re cute!!! I made some here too ^^

  111. I can’t stand how cute these pops are! I know I can always come to your blog for a good laugh!r

  112. Congrats to everyone!!! Great easter cake pops!!!

  113. so I was trying to resist not to write any comment – just follow you without you to know (for no reason)… but I really must tell you this: your work on these small cake balls is just fantastic!!!! You are really a genious – I love the details! …I love baking too just don’t have all the necessary “decorating” stuff to do it “your way”. But believe me – you are famous also here in Greece (especially on Rhodes island) – I show every friend of mine your little tiny cakes… and everybody loves them!

  114. wowzers is right! look at what an inspiration you are—so cool!

  115. Great job…
    so sweet like your candys…

  121. i also made some cakepops. easter eggs. they were the cutest thing at our easter brunch, but i’m wondering if i did anything wrong with adding the frosting. they were quite wet…even after sitting in the fridge for a day! i think they still tasted good, and so did the kids, but my husband wouldn’t go near them (although he thought they looked good!) :)

is there a trick…i’m thinking that maybe i should’ve let the cake cool 100 percent, so that the icing doesn’t get runny?! does that make sense…i’d love your input. thanks so much

ps i LOVE LOVE LOVE what you do. i can’t believe how creative and adorable they all are!

  122. Cute idea to sell pops for a cause.

My little boy had cancer, so we are involved in organizations that help with pediatric cancer research.

I made some chick pops too…this time for Easter, but Ill put it on my list to make some gold ribbons to help kids beat cancer

Here are my chicks..thanks for the great idea!

  124. I made them too. I sent them to school with my 5 yr old Friday before Easter because it his b-day. (5 on Easter). The kids LOVED them. The teachers loved how clean they were. Thank you for sharing your recipes!

(I did not take pics though because the camera was not available until after they were eaten)

  125. Hi Bakerella! I am a student at UCBerkeley, and in honor of our mascot, OSKI the bear, I made Bear Pops! They're not nearly as cute as yours, but it was my first try at it. Hope you like them :)

  126. I didn’t try the cake pops but I did make the baskets. Here is the link and a picture of a few of them http://imagineannalynn.blogspot.com/2009/04/hunt.html

  127. What talented readers you have! I like how everyone’s were a little different and personal to their own creativity. You are very inspiring, Bakerella! ;) Hope you had a hoppy Easter!

  128. I made the cute chicks and gave them out. I got a text from my neighbor saying, “those chicky snacks are off the chains.” He loved them, but I decided from now on, I’ll call them chicky snacks too.

  129. I want to make some of these, but did not have time before Easter. They are so adorable!!!
    Love & blessings from NC!

  130. Mine turned out really crummy…. So here’s my question? About 1/2 an hour or so after I dipped and decorated the chocolate would crack. I put pics up on my blog, if you have time for a peek.
I want to try again, but I any help would be appreciated. I did use wilton dye pens which were pretty cruddy. I also used there melts. I’m a bark girl, but couldn’t find any! Everyone was making pops. So cute!
    Julie

  131. I made some chicks too! My biggest problem was getting the balls to be perfectly round! Mine were all weirdly shaped for some reason, so even though the candy coating was pretty smooth, they weren’t round. They still turned out pretty cute though. :)

  132. I HAD BLIND CHICKS! My food-safe-edible-grade ink would NOT write on the waxy outer-coating (the candy melts). What brand of food-safe marker did you use? We just served the chicks SANS EYES.

  133. They all rock! I still haven’t mastered cake pops yet! Someday. I love looking and trying though!

  134. I made the eggs, but I won’t send pictures! They are certainly harder to make than they look. Smooth icing didn’t happen at my house. Don’t know exactly what the problem was. It was a fun project though and my kids loved them no matter what they looked like.

  135. and here are mine :) in a little bit of a different packaging….

  136. I made your bunny cake pops. My girls called them bunny bites. We arranged them on a styrofoam tree and served it as my daughter’s birthday cake. She was thrilled and renamed them bunny bites. We have also enjoyed your cupcake bites. I’m so glad you are so clever! Thank You!

  137. Thanks to the Queen B for posting our pic! Sherry and I had a blast making them, and you make us appear like these amazing bakers to all our friends! :)

  138. I'm definitely not crafty enough to make cake pops but my husband did try his hand at the Peep-achus! He wasn't very happy with them as we couldn't find edible markers that were fine tip (short of time!). But I still think he did a great job!

  139. I just made the Cupcake Pops in Easter colors for our party. Mysteriously, all of the little cupcakes disappeared throughout the evening! I can’t believe how DELICIOUS your suggestions are! Cute AND yummy?! What more could we possibly want?!

    http://captainmicah.blogspot.com/2009/04/little-cupcake-love.html

  140. Such great fun!! We were going crazy over the chicks, we ran right out and bought all the stuff. Then came the bunnies, and THEN the lambs!!!! Oh my

  141. I also made cake pops for Easter, and they were a huge hit with my family. Thank you, Bakerella!

    http://dillypoo-chatter.blogspot.com/2009/04/happy-easter.html

  142. These are so precious! I love them all!! I tried your chicks and they aren’t as good as the ones you have, or the ones posted but I had fun making them!

I tried a go at it and you can find them here:

  143. Here are my cake pops!

    http://lynettesnewhobby.blogspot.com/2009/04/thank-you-bakerella.html

You’ll have to check them out.

  144. My mother actually made some and I was totally shocked. She usually doesn’t get that creative. Everyone did a great job! They are SOO cute!

  145. Ooohh!! I made these too! They were awesome and everybody was so suprised to find out it was cake inside! “What!? It’s cake? No way!”

    Loved them!

  146. I did post some pictures on my blog…

  147. We made some chicks and had fondant cupcake night. I considered keeping some chicks to put on a cupcake, but they didn’t make it that long.

  148. Have mercy! The pops are wonderful, but your reference to “chicks without sticks” made me laugh so hard, I woke up my husband. (He didn’t think is was as funny as I did, though!)

I’ve re-created your 14-layer cake ( http://winged-pigs.blogspot.com/ ) with great success, and will soon attempt cake pops. You’re truly an inspiration, Bakerella!

  149. Oh, this gives me hope. I now know it it possible for a gal like me to make a cake pop. I have promised my almost 4 year old I will make the Hello Kitty cake pops for her birthday. Now, if I could just find the black edible marker.

  150. We made them too and they were sooooooo much fun! The whole family got involved…fun memories together in the kitchen. Thank you Bakerella!

I posted my pics on my Saturday posting: http://www.kristi-kikiscorner.blogspot.com

  151. SHHHHH!!! My husband is still wanting me to make these, and I’ve told him that Easter’s over so I can’t. I can’t wait to see some black cats for Halloween, though… ;) Or maybe I should search for past blogs for these?

  152. Oh! Such fun to see.

    Aren’t we Bakerella-clan-bakers simply remarkable?!

Indeed, we are. Thank you, dearest Queen B for your inspiration!

  153. Great job ladies! I can’t wait to try them myself!

  154. wow! everybody did a great job! i attempted to make these too. i still need some practice but they tasted good! i have pics on my blog if you’re curious:)

  155. Aaw, now I wish I’d taken more pictures of mine! I had to improvise some things, too – didn’t have paper sticks or sanding sugar, but I think my Easter Egg Cake Pops turned out okay… they certainly disappeared fast enough!

Thank you, Bakerella, for helping make my Easter a fun one :)

  156. Mine weren’t nearly as cute as these were but we had fun with them! It’s funny b/c I just wrote about them TODAY on my blog!

    http://mydogumentary.wordpress.com/2009/04/14/lets-talk-about-chicks-man/

  157. I tried them too with my nieces…lots of fun :) Thanks for the fun idea!I didn’t try the sheep tho, thought it might put me over the edge!I love your blog…

  158. Oh, I wish I had pictures of mine! We made easter eggs with sticks (WAY easier than just balls…the sticks made it so easy!) and decorated them with my younger cousins – super cute and fun! Next time I make them, I’ll take photos :)

  159. Adorable! I bet Easter was such a fun time for cake pops!

  160. Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us Bakerella.

  161. I am SO impressed! Such ambitious people! I am gonna give these a try “one of these daze”!

Keep up the fun stuff Bakerella! I love your blog!

    ~Really Rainey~

  162. I tried to do cake pops too – but I won’t send in the pictures! I couldn’t find most of the things needed out here in Hawaii, so I improvised with less than stellar results. At least they taste good!
