Hamm and Potatoes

IMG_1161

Eeek! Eeeeek! Oink! Oink!

It’s Hamm… everyone’s favorite talking plastic piggy bank. Well, his head at least. I couldn’t resist trying these cake pops out in honor of Toy Story 3, which opens today… Yep. Today and I can’t wait to see it. Bring on the toys!

IMG_1471

Hamm is fairly easy to make in cake pop form and only needs a few decorative add-ons to achieve his distinctive look. Plus, pigs are just plain cute, so I felt I had to try him.

Want to see my Woody and Buzz versions?

IMG_1224

Okay, so I took the easy road here with tiny paper poster tags to carry out the theme. No cowboys or space rangers.
Me. Slacker. That’s my name.

IMG_11972

But seriously… I was too excited to try this next cake pop I’m about to show you. And I think he may be one of my favorites to date.

I’ve been wanting to try him for a while and I couldn’t be happier with how he turned out. I even surprised myself.

So I guess you know what’s coming based on the title of this post.

You know…

Hamm’s spud bud from the movie …

IMG_1263

I can hardly stand it. Look at the one on the right’s expression. He kills me.

IMG_1007

Chocolate cake balls plus

IMG_1033

Peanut butter candy melts plus

IMG_0988

… all this stuff = PLAY. TIME.

It’s okay to play you know. I won’t tell.

We should all play a little more. Don’t ya think?

IMG_1335

“Woohoo! I do.”

IMG_1342

“Woohoooo-hooooooooo!”

IMG_1338

“Seriously guys, control yourself. – You know you’re all cake pops.”

“And, you know what that means.”

IMG_1448

“Uh yeah, I’m starting to figure that out.” – Wise guy!

IMG_1330

“Later, spuds… I’m outta here as fast as my candy feet can carry me. Who’s with me?”

IMG_1428

Don’t worry… they didn’t get too far.

IMG_1482

After a while… all that was left was just a paper memory.

Want to play with toys and cake? Jump on over to Disney’s family.go.com to get instructions for all the fun. And thanks, Disney for the chance to have a go at these.

Hamm it up! Plus, you can also download the poster tags!

And, just curious… who’s going to see the movie this weekend? Anyone? Everyone?

  64. Bakerella, if you are a “slacker” then I am just plain bad at life. Slacking is not in your baking vocab, my dear. You’re of the “above and beyond” and “extraordinary” categories!

Hamm is my FAVORITE Toy Story character so these are probably my favorite cake pops of all time. Thanks for sharing!

I am going to attempt the sesame street cake pops for my son’s first birthday party……any suggestions on how to display them?

Also – when making the cake pops do you normally serve this only for dessert or do cupcakes/cake too? It will be a large party with many adults and kids…..

Thanks for any suggestions!!! You are SO creative!!

  111. Where have I been this whole time????? My 6 year old found your website and mentioned we should try this out!
I looked at it and said OF COURSE! in no time. These are absolutely fabulous.
Master mind.. please help me list what the mustache, ears and eyes are… I am foreign so it is really hard to recognize all the candy. I really appreciate your help on this. I plan to prepare them next weekend at our toy story Party.
I can’t wait to see a Buzz and woody if you are on the works…
All I can say is that I AM A FAN!

  112. WOW!!!! Bakerella…you are incredible! Be SO proud of yourself!

  113. Are there butterscotch candy melts? My little guy would love these but he is severely allergic to peanut butter. His second birthday is coming up here in another month and I was thinking about doing a multitude of pops instead of one big cake. I’ll let you know how they turn out :-)

How do you get the features to stick on?

  122. SO STINKIN’ CUTE. I thought Hamm was great, but when I scrolled down to Senor Tater Head I just about lost it. You’re so creative!

  126. Dear Bakerella,

Would you like to be my next door neighbor and BFF? I got two kidneys, you can have one. (I have A+ blood.) Oh wait, we have no cool baking supply stores here, so we’d have to mail order everything. Darn. That might be a dealbreaker.

  127. I saw the movie today! I loved it…Your cake pops are amazing. I can’t wait to see you versions of Woody and Buzz or Jessie…Come on. you know you can do it! Keep them coming.

  128. Bakerella, YOU are the reason I keep going back to Michaels for MORE sprinkles. ;-)
