  6. I’ve had a lot of good ice cream this summer so far. Traveled to Brooklyn, NY and Ashland, OR to visit two of my sons, their wives, and my precious two grandsons. What a great summer!

    But I also bought a new bike and now I’m obsessed with riding :-)

  17. My Tennessee friend visited me in Indiana and we chose just to VISIT at the kitchen table and patio instead of running around doing things. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable time we have had together thus far. <3

  59. This summer, my friends and I are going to some “Country Concerts”. We are going to see: Rascal Flatts with Journey and The Band Perry, Jason Aldean with Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett and Luke Bryan with Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line. Can’t wait for August!

  60. The most exciting thing I have done this summer was hosting some parties. We had our first baby in late March so this little man is on charge of our summer schedule. ;)

  79. I went out west to the Badlands inSouth Dakota, Wymoming, Montana. Glacier Nation Park, Yellowstone, Tetons, Salt Lake Cityand back home. Lots of beautiful country. Back home getting the grandkids back into crafts, reading and just having fun.

  80. We purchased a small cottage on a small lake and enjoyed a couple weeks swimming, fishing and playing games with our whole family.

  81. Just got back from Greece, where one of the best tings to do is picking oranges, avocados and lemons from our friends garden. Lots of fun!

  82. I enjoyed a birthday pool party yesterday! And baked a peach clafoutis, both very nice ;)

  83. just this past weekend, all kids were home, husband was home and we had some great catch up time on our own deck. (sounds boring, but when everyone lives and works all over it’s great)

    We took a break last week and had a true family vacation. I actually had time to read a whole book! No computers, no work, just sun and relaxation. Simple but wonderful.

  93. How about travelling around Europe? Went to London, then Paris, followed by Madrid and Barcelona, then Rome, Venice, Florence, and Amalfi Coast/Sorrento/Positano/Naples, finished by Prague and Krakow.

    The greatest art galleries and churches and castles in the world; saw the salt mines and Auschwitz in Poland, Phantom and Lion King on the West End, life size robotic dinosaurs in the Natural History Museum, London Dungeons, Tower of London, Montmartre, the Magic Fountain, the Dragon’s Lair (complete with dragon), Vatican City, and hundreds of other impossibly amazing things I couldn’t begin to remember off the top of my head.

    All the while, tasting as much tapas, artisan gelati, pasta, Parisian macarons, and Czech and Polish cuisine as possible. Also lots and lots and lots of cocktails (the Europeans do it right, let me tell you!).

  94. Wow…the ice cream looks amazing!! If making ice cream with the Cuisineart ygourt, sorbet & ice cream maker looks that yummy, I am sure the taste must be even more divine! Winning would be an absolute treat!! This summer has been a busy one. I plan each weekend of fun for our family, but by far the most I anticipate having will be at Disneyland next month. We look forward to California’s amazing food, treats, weather and beaches!

  95. We had a family reunion on my husbands side. It was a a lot of fun and great to see so many we hadn’t seen in a while!

Have made two darling Princess Crowns for my two Granddaughters – looking forward to the local garden center’s Fairy Princess Party that I take them to yearly – it’s the first weekend in August. We have to pick them up the day before as they live two hours away so it’s a whole weekend of FUN with our grandchildren! Hubby is going to do something special with grandson – like golf! Making home made ice cream with them together would finish off a wonderful weekend!

  98. My sister and I planned a Disney Cars birthday party for our little boys who both turned 5. It was fun and sweet and the kids had a blast!

  99. Our family went to Niagara Falls this summer. The falls are amazing we even had the opportunity to walk from the Canadian side to New York so we could see the falls from right up above them, truly beautiful.

    We went to an awesome kids festival that is on here each winter. It does cost to go but once in all the activities are without cost. A whole day dedicated to my babies doing fun things that make their hearts race. I love it.

This summer we had very close friends come to spend the summer will us it is always a better summer when you can share it will family and friends!!! we traveled around Italy, Slovinia, Berlin, Prague, and Ljubljana…. Now we are relaxing from our travels and spending time building up on math before school starts again for our son!

  106. Went chimp-tracking in Tanzania. Winter there at the moment, but still warm enough for ice cream :)

  107. We spent a week with the grandchildren on the shores of Lake Ontario. It was truly GRAND! A family of swans nested outside our window and each day we would watch the proud parents shepherd their 8 young cygnets out into the water. We built magnificent sand castles, played in water, visited a lighthouse, made s’mores in the evening. A week of special memories with our 3 precious grandchildren. (They live far away so times like this are treasures.)

  121. My fiance and I had our engagement shoot in 100 degree weather. It doesn’t sound like fun, but it actually was! And we’ve got some great pictures to prove it!

  142. I’ve taken part in some amazing races including a Color Run and one that ended up in the Olympic Stadium in London. I ran both of these with friends (which I don’t often do) and it was the best fun. Also, running has meant I can eat a little more ice cream :)

  151. Maybe not the most exciting thing, but as a stay at home mom of three, the most appreciated. My son is attending a day camp about an hour from our home. I had three days last week without my younger two kids, so those were three days totally to myself. I would drop the son off in the early am, do some window shopping or running errands, and best of all, I sat in the peace of the library for 4 hours one day!

  153. This past weekend I had a graduation party for my daughter who graduated from college cum lade!! So proud of my daughter her party was at the tail end of a major heat wave & homemade ice cream would have been fabulous

  155. My parents came up from new york city and took me, hubby, and my three kids to Disneyland. But since they was not around for their birthdays, we told our 3 yr old we are taking him to there to see mickey mouse for his birthday and have a cake too. We bought some small cup cake but he was happy with that and went to see mickey at his house. When he saw him (waited for 30 min on the line to see him and take a picture) we came up to him. He was on a small stage and without even knowing my 3 yr old grabbed him and give him a big hug and almost fell down in the process. Lucky mickey saved him from the fall but my little man was star struck! Awesome!!!

  177. It’s been a great summer! My middle son got 19 days of leave and we spent a big chunk of it at the lake!!

  178. I live in Michigan, but my husband is in NYC for the summer for an internship. I’ve had fun visiting him and exploring the city every other weekend since Memorial Day weekend when I moved him in and then drove 9 hours back home by myself :) Making the drive again in 2 weeks to move him back home!!

  186. My parents live in a historic town at the coast and own an ice cream parlor that makes homemade ice cream. I had extended family come in from several states and we had a mini family reunion at their house. It is always great to see family I don’t get to see very often.

  193. Went strawberry picking…5 pounds later, made strawberry bread, sorbet, aqua fresca. I’d love to make ice cream with the blueberries we plan to pick soon!

  194. I moved house back to the UK from Dubai after living out there for 6 years!

  195. 12-day road and boat trip from North Carolina to the tippy top of Michigan (Isle Royale) and back with 2 kids. some homemade ice cream would have made that even more fun.

  196. My daughter and I went to Greece and Italy. Best trip, ever!

  197. My sweet shorties and I have been having so much fun together! Most recently, we went to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and it was awesome!

  198. I enjoyed the beautiful weather in San Francisco while catching a few SF Giants games with my family!

  199. My husband and I went on a cruise with my baby sisters family. She has twin 3 year old grandsons and it was the coolest thing I’ve ever done! Seeing “the big boat” through their eyes was the funniest experience I’ve ever had! It’s got me praying for my own grand kids now!
