Pool Party Pops

Pool Party Cupcake Pops

After celebrating the first day of summer at the beach, I thought today would be cool at the pool. Here are a few cupcake pops to mark day two of summer. Hope you enjoy them in all their cuteness.

Cupcake Pops

I used blue candy melts for the coating, candy writers for the bathing suits,
lifesaver gummies for the inner tubes and blue sugar crystals to accent the water.

Getting ready to go swimming

Almost too cute to bear.

  1. OMG! the pink bikinis on some of the teddy grahams!!

  2. Hi,

I adore your book! I would really LOVE to make your cake pool party cake pops for my pool exercise class! I want to color the swimsuits to match the swimsuits of my class members.

I bought all the supplies. Even got the markers thru Amazon (I live in a small town).

Then I ran into a snag. I’m a vegetarian, and the Lifesaver gummy rings have gelatin. Gelatin is an animal product. After several weeks of looking at the unopened bag, I gave up and returned it.

I am sad because I still want to make them. I found some organic peach rings at Earthfare, but they are $3 for about 8 rings. It would be too expensive to make a dozen.

Any suggestions? I have taken the buttercream and fondant Wilton courses recently. I’ll be taking the royal icing one next month

You’re very creative, so I hope you can help me find a solution. My class is looking forward to them (I couldn’t keep the secret)

    Judy

  3. hu looks good yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy good job i need the resicpie

  4. What did you bake them in?

  5. these would be really cute for baby showers too, with the lil teddy grahams and you could do pink as well :)

  6. What did you use for the faces on the bears? Thanks!

  7. Is there any substitute ring-shaped gummies anyone can think of besides lifesavers? They have gelatin in them so my guests wouldn’t be able to have them. A response would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

  8. can these be done with cheesecake

  9. i’m using these for my water party

  10. I know this cutter is a tiny bit bigger but it worked well for me and I wanted to share this site since their cutters are so cheap, yet well made.

Anyone can get the wholesale discount of 40% off just buy 3 dozen cutters at one time. You can buy 36 different ones and get the discount.

I own over 300 cutters and still find ones from them I need LOL.

New to making fancy cake pops but do cookie pops all the time.

  46. hi…i’m a fan of your blog. i love your creative ideas and your excellent photos. keep up the good work.

  47. Wow! I recently discovered your site and I LOVE it! How cute! I have been decorating cakes for about 7 years now, but I have never done such neat things as this with cupcakes! My nickname at home is cupcake due to some recent events with the kindergarteners I teach. I actually just added that story to my blog…
Anyway, great site! Keep up the amazing creativity! :)

  48. Stephanie – I couldn’t resist

Renee Graham – You can make the entire things in advance. They will last for several days if kept in an airtight container. If you do something like these though, the bears may start to get soft so I would stick with the regular pops with sprinkles and you should be fine.

    Katie – thanks!

HoneyB – Hope they are a hit!

Ashley – yeah, a lot of places sell these. I actually get them at a cake supply retail store. But amazon is a good general place for people who don’t want to set up multiple accounts to purchase from. They sell just about everything.

Tanya – Wilton makes a crinkle cutter. You can see it in this post:

??????? ????????? I’m so glad you like them.

    Deshona – Good luck.

Lyn – I haven’t tried freezing them, but they last for several days in an airtight container.

chinamomxtwo – nope, they actually came that way. Pre-sugared.

  49. just wondering why the life saver gummies look sugared? did you roll them in sugar before using them? I have some but they are ‘plain’ gummies……thanks!
LOVE these! tho I think the cupcakes are my fave :)

  50. Love them! Can you freeze them? How long do they last in the freezer? Fridge? Please advise us!

  51. Oh how fun!!! Cant wait to make these. My girls are super excited.

  52. Just wondering. Is there an end to your imagination? I mean, do you reach a point when you think “Ok, that’s it”?

Smallest, cutest swimmers I’ve ever seen. Keep it up, lady.

  60. Ok, these are too cute… we must be on the same wave link! I made beach themed cup cakes for my son’s end of the school year party, just like these… they were soooo fun!

I wanted some way to incorporate the cake pops… wish I had thought of this… and using the bears and gummies is brilliant! Did you know that Air Head candy makes a long striped sugared sour candy that is perfect for “beach blankets” to go under the umbrellas? Oh well, There is always next year!

BTW, thanks for the e-mail suggestion about coloring the candy melts… food coloring gel, worked out just fine. And the brownie beach balls were great!

    Angela

  61. Super-duper fun!

  62. a brilliant idea: bears with lifeguard in a bikini and sweet blue sea… bakerella as always, have brigth idea¡.Happy summer.Xoxo Cooke

  63. LOL, too cute!

  64. Those are so cute. I’ve made your cupcake bites a couple of times now and they get rave reviews! Thanks for sharing!

  65. If beach bears were cute, these are even cutter… Those lifesaver gummies are a great and yummy idea!

  66. I just LOVE these and your whole site. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents!

Question..I live in a small town and can’t find the little daisy cutter to make the shape. Is there anything else you can recommend that I can use in it’s place?

  67. How darling are these! Oh my goodness :)

I’m not sure if you know this already or not, but the store that your candy writers come from is located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and they sell the candy writers for a lower price on their website.

  68. TOTALLY adorable! You just gave me the idea for our August EFY!! We spend a lot of time outside on that weekend AND the ladies get to use the pool!

  69. So cute! It would be so much fun “dressing” the bears … and I was so caught up in the cuteness I will forgive your pun… :P

  70. These are so cute! I have made your cupcake bites for my daughter’s school and now she wants them for her Princess Ballerina birthday party.

Can I make them in advance? How long will they keep in the freezer? And since, I’m being a pest-should I wait to dip the chocolate till the day of?

I’ve tried to google answers, but I thought I’d try going straight to the source. Thanks for your wonderful inspiration

  71. Those are so cute! Shoulda known you’d come up with a way to do the swimming teddy grahams on cupcake pops! They’re adorable.

  72. anonymous – It was a regular yellow cake mix this time. (Butter flavor)

    cony & megan – thanks

adrienne – see anonymous. I usually just use a mix straight up for these.

italianmommy – hope they are a hit. You may want to keep them indoors until ready to serve. Just to make sure the heat doesn’t affect their ability to stay on the sticks.

  73. I cannot wait to make these pops for my daughter’s pool party. They are the cutest and most perfect little delectables that I have ever seen. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!

  74. so freaking cute as always! Did you use the sprite cake for the pops on this one or a teddy graham mix or just a yellow cake mix?

  75. Super cute! I love the color…

  76. yummy! I can’t wait to try these:) What flavor cake did you use? They look great!
