Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here’s a super last minute idea or more likely – an early idea for next year. Just something quick and cute.
And if you don’t need any treats, you might want to mosey on down towards the middle of this post.
I made little heart chocolates. Hi.
And packaged them up like tiny candy bars. Too cute. And thanks for reading.
This is super easy. You’ll need a candy mold though. The product number is in the photo below if you want to search for it. I found mine at Cake Art. The squares are 1.25 inch.
And because I have a mini candy coating store growing in my kitchen, I decided to use some of it up for these.
Melt pink candy coating and then using a toothpick, draw heart shapes in the cavity of the candy molds. Let it dry and then pour melted chocolate candy coating over the top. Mercken’s is what I used for these. Fill the cavity enough so it reaches the corners without overflowing and then tap the mold on the counter to settle and even out the coating. Repeat with the remaining cavities. Place in the freezer for a few minutes to set and then pop them right out of the mold and place on wax paper. Repeat and repeat until you have what you need.
Of course, you make these even easier and unwrap existing candy bars to use.
Now the fun part. I had these pink foil wrappers that were lonely and waiting to cuddle something. They were really too big for the bars I made so I cut them in half.
Lay the chocolate on the wrapper, fold the two short pieces first and then the long ones.
The foil is super thin so you can press it pretty flat.
These are also fun to wrap up your cake pops if you do simple decorations.
After your bars are all wrapped in foil, you can add paper wrappers.
I created these with different sayings.
Even one for the pinterest lovers out there.
Making your own wrappers is a cute gift or favor idea. Use the same process and create your own wrappers for your theme. You can turn any candy bar into something a little more special.
But now let me tell you why I really made these.
I bought something for myself a few weeks ago that I thought was the cutest thing ever.
Or at least the cutest thing that week.
It was on sale thank goodness. Wanna see?
It goes with the theme so far.
And it’s really what inspired these tiny wrapped chocolate bars.
But this chocolate is a little bit bigger.
And sassier.
The good thing is it won’t melt in my hands.

It’s pretty big, too. Actually it’s a really big clutch.
Big enough to carry all my cha cha chocolates.
Thankfully it has a chain strap, too.
And yes, I couldn’t help but make little Cha Cha labels. It’s just too much fun to say.
But I haven’t mentioned the best part about this bag. It turns out I didn’t just buy one.
Yep. Right now I have one for each hand and that just looks plain silly.

I love my friends’ 13yo daughter (one of 6 kids – the oldest girl of 4 girls :)) — she is truthful, says what she thinks (not rudely) – strong, fierce lover of the downtrodden; she befriends those that are left alone too often by those thinking they are *better* than. She is an inspiration. I would love to win this for her – as I went thrift shopping with her and her mom – found an adorable *Kate Spade* bag – and so did she! I was SO excited for her, and she was too (having never heard of them.her before) – but alas, we found out they were knock offs. Well – she still loved her cute little clutch – removed the fake tag (no pretending with that girl!) — and carries it to middle school. I’d be over the moon to get her a real one – but knowing her, she’d check to make sure it was real – before saying it was so!

Love the hand-made chocolates today :) I recently fell in love with your blog. Really enjoyed Pioneer Woman’s chocolate sheet cake. Looking forward to trying some of your cakes and cake pops :) But for Valentines Day I made a simple chess pie for my sweetheart — she and I are celebrating our 2nd Valentines Day together. She’s spent the past year learning to cook so she can have hot meals ready for me when I get home from working the late shift. Isn’t that sweet!

I know that Valentines Day is a “greeting card company invented” holiday, but I always enjoy it because it gives me the opportunity to pause and think how fortunate I am to have a husband who is so loving, compassionate and caring. Obviously we should all show appreciation for these traits more often, but Valentines Day is a great occasion to celebrate our mutual love and admiration for one another.

My mom is my Valentine every year.. she is my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her. Our relationship reminds me of the relationship you have with yours. We are each other’s rocks and we definitely can get into trouble together! Haha. She is my #1 fan, and I’m hers. <3 :)

The sweetest person to date is my dad. Growing up I thought every father was like him but as I got older i realised that I got an extra special one, since according to society father’s were absent from the home. Even though he and mom haven’t been together for a long time he still made it feel like he never left and to this day I can call and count on him for anything; as long as he’s able to do it, he will.

My husband James is and always has been my Valentine. We met when I was 8, fell in love when I was 12 and are celebrating our 34th Valentines together today! It’s extra special because in the last 10 years I thought I was going to loose him too many times!
I was hurt badly in a fall in 1997 which caused constant pain and he stood by me. In 2002 I had closed my sewing business no longer capable of working due to my injury and HE was injured at work! After 3 surgeries we had to accept he was never going to be able to work again and he became depressed, scary depressed. On Aug. 29 2005we found out one symptom had nothing to do with the surgeries or injury, he had rectal cancer and was given a 5% chance of survival. I immediately got educated in treatments,, hospitals, medications, chemo and radiation. I was NOT going to loose him and I was not going to be a widow that spends the rest of her days wondering, could we have don something different? All the newest research showed much better survival rates when treatments were chemo and radiation followed by surgery to remove the tumor then another round of chemo so I printed and studied it all! We had no insurance because I couldn’t work, he had been injured at work and workers comp. ONLY covers the injuries. I went in ready to sign over our home but so far we still have it.
His cancer team said this will be his treatment, sugery then chemo. He probably won’t make it so do you want put your wife through all the financial loss? I stood up and gave them a speech and printed copies of my research. After they listened and read the research they said they would do it my way!
Aug. 5 2010 was going to be his 5 year =cancer free suprise party but on July 9th he had a heart attack! I gave him asprin,threw him in the car and drove him to hospital! 3 stent surgeries later we celebrated being cancer free and being HERE!!!
So this my 34th Valentines day with my romantic husband who buys me a flower or chocolates every now and then just because, that still writes me love notes and poems is a truly treasured one!

Just one person I love, how hard ! I I must acknowledge and appreciate my parents though. They have been so supportive of me taking on second and third jobs to follow my passions and have been so understanding of my exhaustion at points and patient with me. I really could not do all I’ve done without their support and I love them unconditionally.

Wow, what a great giveaway! Totally original. My husband, who always sends me flowers on special occassions, also bought me an adorable heart shaped rock that I saw a few weeks ago. It’s small, inexpensive, but so adorable that he noticed what I was oohing and ahhing about. Love that man.

We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day really, but in the 6 and a half years we’ve been married, not a day has gone by without my husband and I exchanging the words “I love you.” Even if I didn’t hear it so often, I’d still know it–from the selfless way he works hard to provide for our family & allow me to stay home with the kids, the way he encourages and challenges me in my faith, and the wise and gentle way he leads our family and teaches our kids.
