My Kind of Stuffing
I feel like I should be baking Thanksgivingy, cinnamony, pumpkiny treats right now. But today just called for some serious chocolate chip cookies. And these were the perfect feel good Sunday sweet. They would have made an even better Friday treat though. Then I could have eaten them over the whole weekend instead of wanting to eat them all in one day. I try to start the week off sweet free you know. Try being the key word.
I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to make these. I know you’ve probably seen them all over the interwebs.
I mean jumbo chocolate chip cookies…
…stuffed with Double Stuf Oreo cookies.
Hello…
Heaven.
My friend Jenny of PickyPalate.com started making these cookies a while ago and I can’t believe I have not baked any before today. But now that I have her new cookbook (filled with plenty of sweets by the way) in my kitchen, I guess baking her cookies is the next best thing to baking up cookies with her sweet, smiling face.
Your basic chocolate chip cookie ingredients all ready to go.
Ready to become cookie dough.
And now for the star. The surprise inside.
Just scoop cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo cookie.
I used a regular size ice cream scoop.
Sandwich the cookie sandwich with another scoop on the bottom.
That’s some kind of awesome.
Now, gently seal the dough and tuck the cookie safely inside.
These make huge cookies by the way.
Giant Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Drastically delicious and easy, too.
I’ve made some brownie stuffed pillow cookies before, but these save you the extra step of baking the inside sweet. Love it.
Here’s my attempt at gently biting away the cookie so you can see the pretty Oreo layers inside.
And this is what I would call a face plant.
Enjoy!
P.S. I finally added a printable recipe function.
I feel like a grown up food blogger now.
Picky Palate's Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 8 oz (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 10-12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 pkg Double Stuf Oreo Cookies
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add butter and sugars to the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat until light and fluffy. Then add the eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
- In a large bowl, sift the flour, salt, and baking soda with a wire whisk until combined. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix until combined.
- Use an ice cream scoop to place a scoop of cookie dough on top of an Oreo cookie. Place another scoop on the bottom of the Oreo. Seal the edges together by pressing and cupping the dough in hand until the Oreo is completely enclosed. Shape into a thick patty. Repeat with remaining cookies and dough.
- Place the stuffed cookies on the prepared baking sheet a couple of inches apart and bake for 11-15 minutes, until the cookies are cooked through. Let cool for 5 minutes and transfer to a cooling rack
These could be dangerous… and I say that in the best way possible.
These look delicious. I can’t wait to try making them for the holidays!
Another chocolate temptation :P
It looks sooooo delicious. I’m not a big fun of Oreo, but in this kind of cookies I would definitely try them!
*a big fan, of course. :) Greetings from Poland!
This is half crazy/half brilliant. My boyfriend is going to love these. Thanks!
WOW, What a great idea. These look delicious and of course you left out the calories… LOL, :-)
Must get some oreos. Rght away!
Now, this is my kind of cookie! :D
Oh. I am craving those right now. Thanks a lot. So hungry. Ugh. Why must you do this to me? I mean cake pops are adorable but THIS. I just want to eat the screen.
Yum! Definitely need to try those!
Jakie cuda!

Basia
wow! thats awesome! I’ll try to make these cookies … ;)
OMG! Awesome! These cookies have to be really good, i have to do them soon!
Do you think it’s legal to marry those cookies? Cause I totally want to.
Is this legal? An Oreo sandwiched between chocolate chippers are certainly iconic American standards, so why not celebrate Thanksgiving with the Picky Palete’s recipe?
Are these the crunchy or chewy kind of cookies?
heyyyyy! They’ve been on my to bake list forever now! Bakerella, i love the print thing. im ur no. one faaan! my friend got me into youu! i love you! you practically taught me how to bake!:)
All I have to say is YUM!!!
I need these cookies nooooow!! What a treat!
Whoaa these are absolutely amazing!!
A grown up food blogger. Ha! They look great, but I can feel the pounds piling up just looking at those things.
Mmmmm I am craving thoose cookies mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Comment 21. WOw, cool cookies!
now those look like my kind of cookie!
I almost didn’t open this email because I thought it was about stuffing/dressing for your Thanksgiving bird and, well, frankly, that’s such a personal thing I wasn’t interested in how you put your touch on it. Then I remembered you’re a kitchen Goddess and thought “Who knows? I might learn something.” WOW did I ever “learn”!!! Never doubting you again… (also made the mistake of opening it in front of my 5 year old…now I’m on the hook to have these baked by the time he gets home from school!!!!)
Oh. You are evil! :-)
I’ve made these, and let me tell you, they are AMAZING. Nothing better for a seriously divine treat.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Two of my favorite cookies in one treat. Ruh-roh. This is very, very bad…in such a delicious way!
And how cute would these be with the holiday Oreos when they tint the creme filling?!
Yum…that looks great! And being a super picky eater myself, I’ll have to check out that cookbook. Thanks!
I made these once but had trouble with my cookie dough – it got all “melty” around the oreo and they ended up looking like UFOs- haha! Still tasted amazing though and I made half with peanut butter cookie dough =)
Wow. This is ten kinds of sweet wrong, but soooo delish. :) I didn’t know you could stuff a choclate chip cookie. Yikes, my hips didn’t need to know that. :)
These look scrumdiddlyumptious! Your site always inspires me to try to news. Just when I thought chocolate chip cookies couldn’t get any better!
Love your photos! I’m inspired to make them again! (Nom, nom, nom). ;-)
OMG…my tummy is rumbling right now…I feel like I can taste these through the computer screen. These look completely delicious. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!
These look amazing!! Do you think one could use the mini oreo’s to make them a bit smaller for an assorted cookie tray.
:0)
YUMMY! These look delightfully decadent and so appropriate for these cold nights. :) But I also agree that they could be very dangerous, so best to make them for work. I’m sure my coworkers wouldn’t say no to such a delicious cookie.
Oreo came out with some candy cane filled oreos recently. I would have eaten the whole bag if my boyfriend didn’t have any. I kind of want to make these with those! I wonder if I could use my Andes chip cookies (recipe on the bag of baking chips) with the candy cane oreos.. or if that’d be mint overload!
I have made these, they are TO DIE FOR!!!! (especially warm out of the oven!) Don’t second guess yourself about trying this recipe.
I love how you titled this post, I think it absolutely captures your love for baking, perfection! Also, I want these cookies. Scratch that. I NEED this cookies, right now. With extra ooey gooey chocolate.
We can print!?! Omgosh so excited and just in time for Christmas!! Lol Oh and those cookies look amazing! :-)
Thank you for the recipe. My daughter is sure to enjoy them. And a great big thanks you for the print recipe button, yeah!!!
What! NOM NOM.
I feel you on wanting something not so fall-ish! My brother’s birthday party is today, which I’m thankful for on the baking front because it gave me a reason to make a regular old chocolate cake with white icing – I love cinnamon and pumpkin and spice cake, but sometimes you just need a bit of a palate cleanser ;-)
Santa will love me after I make these on Christmas Eve!
I just had one of these and they are dangerous!
These look delicious and I love the print feature!
I made these last week! They were yummly! And if they get cold just nuke in the microwave for a few seconds so the Oreo can get gooey again..they were definitely a hit!
love your blog ! i’m shocking
i love the quality of the pictures
you are welcome in my blog !
kisses from belguim
bisous bisous

Holy crap, those look INSANE :O :O and good in a should NOT eat too much kind of way :P
wow, finally in the top 100!! YAY!!
I always wanted to make these but…i guess i never really got around to it.
I saw these cookies immediately so I bought the Oreos (double stuffed no less) and then moseyed over to the biscuit cold section and got a tube of Nestle chocolate chip cookie dough. That night I put them together like in the photos, baked, and oh my goodness! They were amazing! Now I want to try the listed cookie recipe as I have a whole unopened bag of Trader Joe chocolate chips. Wonder what it would taste like with NutterButters??? Yeah, babeeee!!! ;)
Holy moly, these look and sound amazing. I’ve got that book on my amazon wishlist and was hoping I’d get it for Christmas or buy it myself after Christmas but these are making me want to push that button!
So going on my to ‘make and bake’ list!
you had me at oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies
I love these!! I made them one day for my students and they still haven’t stopped talking about them =)
Oh wow. Mindblown! I didn’t know you can do that with Oreos! Might be a good welcome home treat for my brother.
By the way, how do you add that printable function to only your recipe? I’m a very new blogger and for the world of me, can’t figure that out!
realmente riquisimas me gustaron como me quedaron , gracias por tus consejos.
COOKIE INCEPTION
I agree with who said it was half crazy/half genius. Crazy because they must be the most caloric cookies in existance and genius because one NEVER says no to Oreo, be it crumbles, stuffing, ice cream…
My hubby would absolutely adore these, not sure I can bear to inflict the extra pounds on him though! :P
can’t wait till I try those!! yum yum
C’mon! Kill me know! I’m trying to loose weight but with this recipes is impossible! Oh well… I’ll start my diet next monday ;-)
I have to do this! looks soooo yummmmy
woow very good idea!! i will try them yummmy :))
My oh my! These look crazy-good. That face plant picture makes me want one with a tall glass of cold milk. :D
I teach a children’s sunday school class and when I do bring treats, theses are their favorites. I use my favorite chocolate chip cookie reciepe though.
These are the best tasting, out of this world cookie ever! Thanks Bakerella!!!!
And they said a chocolate chip cookie couldn’t get any better….oh my!
Buuuuaaaa, i try to make it, but it’s a disaster!!! i don’t know why the cookies makes bigger.
Love the new print feature! Thank you! And I love the cookie idea as well, of course.
Yum, those look amazing!
Hi!! Love everything about your baking! It would make my day if you could list your ingredients using imperial measurements also. It’s not a big issue but would be of great help! :)
With love from the land down under!
Wow it is my favorite one. It is so tasty to eat. I like it most.
Made them today. Loved by all! Now I’ve been making a list of all the other items I want to stuff my cookies with. I’m thinking the next thing will be NutterButters.
i <3 these *mouth drooling* cookie in a cookie … genius :D
So yummy!!
I am so, so, so definitely making these for Christmas. Look so insanely sinful and delicious!
Saw these and knew I had to make them for my husband – he loves chocolate chip cookies and oreos. He loves them! He also came up with the idea of seving them warm with ice cream and whipped cream from a can. Now that sounds like a great idea to me! Thank-you Bakerella all the way from England x
Oh my gosh these look heavenly. My mouth is watering! I’ll be making these this weekend.
Wow, these look amazing! I’m so tempted to try them :) I imagine they make giant cookies though? That looks like a lot of dough! (not that I’d have a problem with that lol)
This just became #1 on my To-Do list for this weekend!!!
OK, I thought I was making cookies that were too big when I used an ice cream scoop last night. One scoop per cookie. This is beyond huge!
OMG – you guys are baking yourselves right into Type II DIABETES!!!
Oh my goodness, these look utterly amazing! I can’t wait to try out this recipe!
Wow, I am almost afraid of how tasty these are….
Definitely going to make these over xmas
Trisha Xx
Love the new print option!!! Thank you :)
OMG. Chocolate chip cookies are one of my signature baking delights, especially when I put Whittakers chocolate chunks in them. This is definitely on my list of things to bake, no doubt I’ll be everyone’s favourite.
OMG, those cake pop ornaments are amazing. They would go great in my candy/baked good tree. It has candy, cupcakes, donuts, suckers and gingerbread men. The cake pop ornaments would be a wonderful addition. So creative
Merry Christmas
Cute ornaments! I would love them. — I just cross stitched a Santa and made a pillow with it for my mother – in – law. I love making and giving gifts.
Love the ornaments! Every Christmas my daughter and I make cake pops & cookies to give out as gifts. A great bonding time and our friends love the treats they receive! Have a wonderful Christmas!
The last thing I made someone was a SF Giants Wreath…I’ve sold 3 so far and my son thinks they’re wonderful being a fan of the SF Giants. The ornaments are beautiful…I’d leave them up all year on my kitchen tree….simply beautiful!
Tis the season! Already purchased your book for a friend. Would love to have a copy for myself! :)
And the ornaments are adorable!
We went as a family and served dinner to homeless people Sat. night, even our little grandkids. It was awesome to serve and try to spread a little holiday love. Plus it was so cold, helped us to be so grateful for our warm homes to sleep in.
Merry Christmas everyone!
A bracelet made of buttons!
I just made (tonight) nutter butter balls. So easy and so good. The last thing I bought was a necklace for my mother in law. It SAYS THANK YOU FOR RAISING THE MAN OF MY DREAMS. I think she will love it for Christmas. We have been married for 26yrs. It may be because I bake all the time!
Love your recipes.
I just made the “plum pudding” cakepops to give all my co-workers as a little holiday gift.
On Monday I purchased a poinsetta for my next door neighbor, she is 86 years old. While we were away this past weekend she received our mail and boxes. One box weighed over 35 pounds and she placed it in our home for us. She is a doll and a great cook and baker. We love to share recipes. She encourages me every day to enjoy that day to its fullest.
How cute these are!!
my friend made these, and they are phenomenal. i cannot say how much i savoured every bite. one of the most indulgent, cute, delicious and special cookies i’ve ever eaten!
Love this site. I make calendars every year as teacher gifts. They look forward to them each year. Each month is specific to that month and they can display the current month in a 3 1/2 x 5 picture frame stand.
Love the ornaments!! I have been crocheting curly scarves for gifts,I have made a lot !
