The Results Are In!

Cupcake Chart

I want to thank everyone for entering my first giveaway. I had a great time reading your comments. And, yes, I read them all and even tallied them up to come up with this little pie cupcake chart to illustrate the answers. It looks like the C cups (handful) have slightly edged out the standard (bite-size) as the cup size of choice. Bakeries, take note… we want more cake in our cup.

And now that the giveaway is over, I can tell you that I’ve learned a few things:
1. You guys are funny (there were some really great answers)
2. I like to give stuff away (who knew this would be so much fun)
3. Two weeks is entirely too long to wait for a winner (next time, it will be much shorter)

Alright, now for the good stuff. I’ve made you wait long enough. After two weeks and more than 1,000 comments later, here are the winners to be picked at random. Don’t worry, there’s no wrong answers here.

1,063 entrants
(yes, I cut up all those little pieces of paper)

One sweet little assistant.

And the first winner is…

And the second winner is…

I’ll be contacting the two of you for your mailing info. And, don’t worry if you didn’t win, I had so much fun with this giveaway, I hope to do more like it.

But, in the meantime:

You can still get the book. Hello, Cupcake! is less than $10 on amazon right now. It really is cute. I’ll be making some of their cupcakes soon. The panda cupcakes have been calling my name.

And, you can buy your very own Cupcake T-shirt here.

Thanks again everyone! And thanks to Yummr, for offering the book to giveaway.

Now, I’ve gotta go bake.

  4. I just wanted to share a "Pop" with you that went over huge at the school… I like to make treats for the teachers (and being that I have 4 kids in the school system… I owe them! LOL) So I took your cake pop idea and twisted it-since I had made them, liked them but wanted something a bit less sweet. I used my Mom's poke cake recipe and applied it to the cake pops-tried it on my sons teen friends-it was a hit :) so took it to the school :0 it was a hit :)
Bake a cake (I like strawberry), once cool crumble in a big bowl. Make a package of (I prefer strawberry but go ahead and "mad scientist" it) jello mix. Pour unset jello on cake crumble. Roll into balls. Put in fridge to cool and set. Dump a big tub of whipped cream in a shallow dish. Pour all the "poke cake balls" into whipped cream. Roll balls until covered in whip cream. Serve with toothpicks… or a big spoon since so many will take gobs of them! Delish!

I love you blog and ideas!! :)

  5. Joyous – they look awesome! I love the flowers. If you want me to add them to my next pop photo roundup, leave a link on They’re Poppin Up All Over with your first name and state.

    Thanks!

  6. I made these and they were the biggest hit at my daughter’s first birthday! I am going to help a friend do them for her daughters birthday!! Here is a picture!
