YAY! It’s spring and I couldn’t be happier. And to celebrate the season, I’m having a sweet springy giveaway for a KitchenAid Mixer in one of the following colors.  The winner gets to pick, too… Fun! What’s it going to be? Crystal Blue? Ice? Pistachio? Who’s up for Majestic Yellow?

All of these colors are beautiful and put me in the baking mood.

  76. I really like the color purple these days. I am looking forward to baking my first lamb cake for Easter this week. I’m really excited about the lamb form and it will be my first pound cake (the recommended recipe). My husband grew up eating these at Easter and I’m looking forward to starting a new family tradition with our kids with the lamb cake.

Normally I would be practical and choose the white or silver color because it would be more versatile and stand the test of time (as these wonderfully made mixers do) with kitchen color changes…..but today when I looked at the beautiful, sunny yellow one it immediately made me think of Spring and warmth! I then got the brainy idea of adding paint to it (as I’ve seen done before) to make it resemble one of my absolutely favorite things that I have decorated my kitchen with for over 30 years now….a BEE!! I am looking forward to making a lot of delicious Easter desserts that are traditional in our family…..coconut cake, lemon squares, and pineapple fluff!
