Cake, baby!
Yes, this post is all about delicious cake, but just not the kind you eat.
It’s about the kind you can carry. I found this decadent purse online and just fell in love. First with the name of course, and then with the design. It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom.
But, it’s not just a purse. It’s also a diaper bag. That’s right. Inside this not so little red number is a fold out changing pad, room for diapers and a plastic case for wipes. No one would ever guess. Unless of course they, too have had some cake.
Now, don’t feel like you’ve gotta go and get pregnant just to carry this purse. Petunia Pickle Bottom made the changing pad detachable so you can carry Cake even if you don’t have a little one in tow for a reason.
Did I mention the matching coin purse? Sweet.

Wow! That’s a tough one. I like cake. Cake is my friend. How do I choose just one? It would be a complete toss up between to die for Chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting, and a light white cake with whipcream and strawberries.

My favorite way to eat cake is actually to bake a white mix up as cookies and top with Rainbow Chip frosting. Yum! But I wouldn’t say no to it in cake form either. :)
Oh my god. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved vanilla cake with strawberry between the layers. It’s a staple at Indian weddings, and I would make my mom (who does not eat eggs) get a piece just to give it to me. And my grandma (who is diabetic). And my sister (who does not like strawberries).

This will probably sound disgusting but since meeting my husband I’ve adopted the Yorkshire tradition of having a slice of Christmas cake together with a piece of cheese and you know what? It’s yummy.

My favorite cake? Baba au rhum. My fiancé’s grandma’s baba au rhum, drenched with its own syrup for at least three days before being served, so it absorbs it all and develops an irresistible sugary crust on its surface.

I’m actually quite a fan of red velvet cake myself, and if I’m making cake, that’s what I tend to do. I do love strawberry shortcake as well, but it’s a little more tricky. (Assuming you do it right and have whipped cream frosting. And you gotta have whipped cream frosting.)

Hahahahahaha! I have to laugh because “Cake” (uppercase C) in my house would be what would cause me to need a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag. Translation – “Cake” is code for…um…well…you know! ;) So, while that’s my favorite kind of cake (we do have four children, LOL) – my favorite kind of cake to EAT is the caramel cake that Daring Bakers made in November of last year. Oh my. I love that cake!!! And the brown butter frosting…yummo!!!!!!

Okay, so I taught kindergarden for 17 years. And still, my favorite is the white birthday cake, with whipped cream icing and sprinkles (along with a serving of neapolitan ice cream, please). Yellow (cup)cake… with cookie dough! You roll some cookie dough balls, pop them into the freezer for a few hours until they’re solid, and then put them in the batter. Bake, and you end up with yummy cupcakes with raw cookie dough inside. :)
Ooo that’s a hard question…I would have to say it’s a tie between chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake.But really, I’d probably eat any cake just fine ;o)
My favorite cake is the Chocolate Mountain Fudge Cake from Black Angus restaurant…but homemade I usually prefer white cake with vanilla frosting. Or those little molten chocolate cakes. I really think this question is torture…having to choose one…having to think about the calories…drooling on my computer. Oy!
I love birthday cake. It’s probably the occasion more than the cake. Celebrating someone’s life makes any birthday cake yummy!
