I mean it. Easy. E…..Z…. Peach Crunch Cake.
You need some sliced peaches in syrup.
Just dump them in a 13 X 9 dish. Syrup and all.
Note: this can also be called a dump cake. But that doesn’t sound all that pretty.
Cut the peaches into smaller pieces and you can distribute them more evenly.
Next up, you need a yellow cake mix.
Sprinkle it right over the top of the peaches. No mixing. None.
Keep sprinkling until it’s all covered up.
Then layer 1 stick of butter right on the top.
For some reason this photo makes me smile. Like little pats of butter floating in clouds.
And this really makes me smile. Brown sugar baby. I can’t put this on anything without sneaking a spoonful for myself. Sugar. Straight up. Don’t tell.
Oh this is looking good. So fluffy. I need a spoon. No… I need to wait.
Finally, add some chopped walnuts.
Here ’tis from the top and again from the side.
Bake it at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes and voila…
Peach crunch cake. Really though it’s more dessert than cake.
Some for me…
Some more for me…
Good alone… good warm… good cold… and
Good warm with something cold.
Yum. Yum. In my tum.
Peach Crunch Cake
See, that was easy.
Now how about something hard.
Voting for the 2010 Bloggies is underway and guess what… Bakerella was nominated in two categories. Best Food and Best Design. Wowzers!
But here’s the hard part… try choosing between some of my fellow nominees… definitely not as easy as this cake.
Smitten Kitchen – I want to cook like her when I grow up.
Joy the Baker – She’s way cool, super cute, and she bakes, too.
Cake Wrecks – Jen’s humor is hard to beat.
101 Cookbooks – literally … she has that many.
Style Me Pretty – I can get lost gazing at their photos all day.
Pawcurious – animals = uh-oh.
Pretty Stylish London – fashion and fun
The Pioneer Woman – ummm… oh well…game over.
Go. Vote for your faves. Voting ends Sunday, January 31st.
I just made this, but instead of the nut topping, I used granola. It was fantastic and I can’t thank you enough, Bakerella! :)
I thought I was the only one sneaking that spoonfull of brown sugar! Love your website!
Just have to share with you. I made the cake last night and it was so yummy! My son came home from work late last night and told him to try it. Of course he is a night owl and stays up late. When I got up this morning more then half the cake was GONE! Thanks for a great recipe. He loved it!
I could NOT stop drooling! I am so making the cake this weekend. I only have to grab the peaches. I bet apples would be awesome with this too.
Thanks for all the variations. And the votes too!
soo good. and sooo easy! Thanks!
My dad use the make this all the time when I was growing up. We called it “upside down peach dessert”. Creative huh? :) Anyway, the only difference is he used “Spice” cake. It’s hard to find, but I think it gives it a nice flavor. Try it sometime!
I made this and didn’t really like it. My boyfriend did, but I think he likes any kind of food. There were patches where the butter didn’t get to so there were dry spots, but it seemed like there was 4x more filling then any kind of fruit. =(
I made this for dessert for my family the other night after seeing it here. It was a huge hit and SUPER DELICOUS! Thanks for a great & easy recipe!
Always looking for easy recipes to wow the in-laws. Thanks for this! Like some of the previous commenters, I was also trying to brainstorm other fruits that would work with this – do you think canned apple pie filling would work better than fresh apples? With fresh, it might work best if mixed up with sugar, cinnamon, flour, nutmeg, lemon juice just as if going in a pie. Thoughts?
I make this only I use Peach Pie filling, soooo good. Then I cut the butter into the cake mix so it is all throughout and then sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top, and that is it. I love it!
We tried this dessert and it was the most incredibly delicious thing we’ve ever tasted!! It has officially surpassed our previous family favourite- a chocolate Paula Deen recipe. It is hard to put into words how yummy this was! Thankyou so much for sharing!!
Is there a way to print out the recipe without printing all 16 pages of instructions?
Mmm looks good! Did you use salted or unsalted butter? And if i wanted to do it with apples, should I use fresh apples?
I have been married 35 years, this is a recipe I used to make when I was first married. I had forgotten all about it. We loved this recipe!
I made this the other night – SO good! I didn’t have the nuts, but it’s great without them! Think I’ll go have some right now! :)
I think I am going to try this with pears and add some cinnamon, it looks too easy not to try it. :-) I am curious about the comments from outside the US, can these readers not buy a box of cake mix at your grocery stores? Do you make cakes completey from scratch? If so, I won’t be moving out of the country… ever.
Mmm…this looked so good, I wanted to make it right away, but I didn’t have any peaches and I only had slivered almonds, so I substituted pineapple for the peaches and used the slivered almonds and it’s so, so, good. I love the suggestions of cherry cake pie filling and chocolate cake mix…I’ll have to try that too!!
I TRIED THE RECIPE!! LOVED IT!!! SO DID EVERYONE IN MY HOUSE!!!!! THANK U SO SO SO MUCH!!! LOOKIN FORWARD ON UR NEXT POSTS!!! :)
Oh my….definitely going to give this recipe a try! thank you!
I have this in the oven as I type. Except I added a can of sliced pineapple (minus the juice) cut into chunks, and I omitted the nuts.
I can’t wait to eat it!
I think I’ll try this with mangoes, as they are in season here now. Yum!
I just converted this to a gluten-free version… using gluten-free yellow cake mix, of course. Unfortunately, I told my husband the “dump cake” part of your post… so I think that name is going to stick!
I have made Many Dump cakes in my time, I love them. My favorite is with Blackberries. Yum. Excuse me while I wipe offf the saliva dripping from my mouth. My question is, Have you ever made a dump cake with a Chocolate cake mix? and if so, what fruit did you dump it on top of? I’ve always wanted to make one with Chocolate, just haven’t had the courage to do so.
This is my husband’s new favorite. Love how the walnuts on top get candied, and I’m not a nut person! Excellent hot or cold, so true. Thank you, Bakerella!
My cousin makes this all the time minus the brown sugar and walnuts. I’m going to have to try this version. Looking amazing.
Yum!! I made this for my hubby and 4 little ones using applepie filling and granola topping instead of walnuts and it was amazing! I’m having guests this weekend and I’ll make it your way-thanks again!
Make at your own risk – this is DEE-LICIOUS!!!
I am making this right now. It smells great, and it looks great. I bet it will taste great too.
Red velvet cake mix can be found at Cost Plus
This is also great with canned cherries, blueberries, any kind of canned pie filling OR fresh apricots. So easy and it comes out looking like you have been baking all day. Dump cake is what we have always called it. Don’t forget to spray the 9X13 pan with Pam or non-stick spray first. Easier to serve and easier to clean up.
I am making this right now……I can’t wait to try it! =D
Thanks Bakerella – I made this today and it is too easy and too good!
This recipe looks awesome… can’t wait to try it!
On an unrelated note – can anyone tell me where to find a “Red Velvet” cake mix? I am in Canada, and my Mom is in the states. I can’t find anything here, so she has been looking there for me, but so far we’ve both come up empty handed. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thanks so much! :)
So I’m so totally making this. I’m a college student that craves baking things but just doesn’t have the time or the resources. I recently bought a pan to make brownies in though, and they turned out good, so I’m moving on to this. I’m so completely excited about it, too! Maybe I should make some to snack on when finals week rolls around. (:
I did something different with your recipe. I used sliced apples instead of pears, and a box of brownie mix instead of cake mix! It turned out really rich and is a GREAT with ice cream!
I tried this recipe. Except I baked an extra yellow cake and then put the peach crunch cake on top of the yellow cake like a frosting. With the vanilla ice cream…mm…so good!
This makes me SO happy. I am 32 weeks pregnant and for whatever reason, I have had a serious craving for canned peaches nearly the entire time – so this COMPLETELY delights me! I may have to go make some right now!!!! Mmmmmm!!
I love brown sugar. I thought I was the only person who would sneak some, I guess not. I’ve always taken a little bit of brown sugar out for myself before putting the lid back on. ;)
I want to try this with those raspberry flavored peaches they have in the cans. I bet that would be soooo good!
I love a desert that doesn’t take a bunch of time to make! Something you can throw in as you’re eating dinner…ahhh!
This. Looks. So. Good.
I have to make this!!!
And thanks to everyone for all their variations!!! I will definitely try them all!!!
even though it’s so simple, you make it look sooooo scrumptious and exciting. this one may or may not be happening by the end of the day.
and you have my vote!
teehee.. dump cakes..
Thanks so much for posting this! I have a bunch of canned peaches, and this will be the perfect way to use them up!
I could not resist making this one! Your pics just sucked me in! :) I’m making it tonight for a delicious Sunday dessert, something to perk up my Sunday night blahs :)
Good luck with your nominations! You definitely deserve to win!
The first photo with the spoon just sitting in the ice cream I just want to reach out a put it in my mouth! Yummy!
I love making Dump Cake! I’ve never added nuts to my recipe. Now I’ll have to try. I might have to make this sometime soon. It’s so easy and delicious. Bakerella, mine is much “dumpier” than yours. So pretty as usual!
I made this last night with pecans instead of walnuts and it was a hit! SUPER EASY and very sweet and tasty. Felt like a perfect southern treat. And definitely eat it warm…yum! Next time I’m gonna throw in some blueberries I think.
Have & will always be a sugar taster… try not to in front of my children! =) Sounds like a perfect, quick dessert.
I made this tonight (substituted pecans for the walnuts because it’s all I had) and my family loved it! I forgot to buy ice cream, but it didn’t matter – I will definitely make this again. So effortless but very satisfying!
I’ve adored your site since my very first pathetic attempt at Cake Pops, so to see my site even mentioned in the same breath puts me over the moon. Thank you for the mention and as always the inspiration. :D
shut. up. i need this in my life. tomorrow, i’m going to bake pure sunshine in my kitchen, and it will be glorious. THANK YOU!
Oh, just give me a spoon so I can dig in already!! lol…..that looks mouthwatering!
We’re making this ASAP. I’d make it tonight, but we’ve already got brownies in the oven lol!
I’ll def check out your fave blogs but I’ll be voting for yours ; )
It’s in the oven right now!
ok i tryed this this evening left out the walnuts sense im allergic but it was way to sweet to eat lol the kids loved it butt said that next time to leave off the brown sugar so thats what i will do
It’s in the oven now!
This looks delicious. I think I need to make this tomorrow!
Just made this and I must say it’s not only SO easy- it’s amazingly yummy and addicting! Thank you for another awesome recipe…I voted for you!!
I had to come see what Ridiculously easy was all about, and I love it! Thanks for this recipe. I NEED Ridiculously easy! laurie
I wait until I have creamed brown sugar and butter. Then I take my spoonful. Soooooo good!
I made this last night with mandarin oranges, no nuts and probably about 2 cups brown sugar… WONDERFUL!! Thanks again!
srsly, i’m in love with this. I haven’t even tried it yet but I’m completely smitten.
also, I get way excited when I find little lumps in teh brown sugar, it means I get to eat them. :P
I made. I ate. I LoOoOoOved!!
Great recipie.. :)
I voted for you! Best of luck!
Wow that looks great! I keep trying to blog graze but find my way back to this recipe againandagainandagain!
Okay, so I made it last night but I didn’t have yellow cake mix, so I used a spice cake mix. It tasted amazing and is already gone!! :) Thank you so much for the recipe!
I’ve made this same recipe using canned apples. It’s so good and definitely easy!! My husband loves peach cobbler so I’m making your version for him!
This is ridiculously easy and equally yummy! I had everything in the pantry to make this. I used 2 cans of peaches and it is WONDERFUL! I can’t wait for the next chance to take dessert somewhere! Everyone loved this! Thanks!
My family makes this with cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple instead of the peaches. It was my requested birthday dessert every year. Honestly, anything would be good under a cake mix, butter and sugar…
The brown sugar is a new addition to my family recipe but I like it! That’s a keeper.
After I saw your post i just HAD to make this and it was excellent! We left out the walnuts since we didn’t have any in the pantry, and it was still fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
I am making this right now minus the nuts! I have had this with apples and spice cake with pecans. Very good. And another variety with pumpkin. Also, very good. Wish me luck with the peaches!
Gee, I have not made the ” dump cake” for some time now and I do prefer your name, Peach Crunch Cake..sounds so much more appealing! Just printed recipe out and this will be made for Super Bowl dessert! Thanks and thanks again Bakerella! Have a awesome weekend!
wow! it seems very easy… can i change it from peaches to mangoes??? ^_^
I just made this exactly as detailed above and it was DELICIOUS!! It literally took 5 min to prepare and everyone at the dinner party was asking for the recipe. Thank you!!
I had to run home last night and make this!! YUMMY! YUMmmmmmm
Do you think it would work if I used apple pie filling instead of canned peaches, and threw in some cinnamon for good measure?
Please someone tell me what is cake mix. I`m from Romania, and I never heard about that ingredient.
Easy and delicious. I made this last night and thaaaank you :)
i just LOVED this WEBSITE … the Topics, the food, the photos, and the writing, everthing is just perfect and great … good luck
my favorite version of this is with apples and yellow cake mix.. also has made it with cherry pie filling and chocolate cake mix. love the idea of brown sugar and nuts!!!
you never stop amazing me!!
I love dump cakes! I played around with it last Fall and used the cake mix and butter as a “crust” for an apple crisp – so good! But then, how could butter and cake mix possibly be bad? :)
I made this but must have done something wrong. I know you did not think this easy a recipe that anyone could make a mistake WELL. It is so sweet and the brn sugar is very hard on the top. What do you think I did wrong… I did use peaches that were very lite…. SANDI
Love this! My family has always made the cherry version! Yum-o!
I love dump cake! I think about it often but forget to look up the recipe. Glad you have it here; I haven’t made this in probably 15 years. — michele
This looks excellent…and it’s no fuss, even better!
Omigosh, I have been craving something peaches and this could quite possibly hit the spot. If I wasn’t in my jammies already I might’ve gone out to the store and purchased what I need to make it now. Have to wait till tomorrow… :)
It’s always SUCH a treat to read and view your posts. You’re so funny, such an excellent baker and your photos are GORGEOUS. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Looks great! I voted and you got my vote!
I love dump cake! I’ll never be able to name it anything else.
My parents are visiting so I made this tonight and it was LOVED by all!!
After a couple of desperate tries, several burnt fingers and disappearing confidence, I finally mastered (I use that term liberally) the cake balls that you had posted on your blog before. :) And even had two people ask for the recipe.
Of course, I gave you the credit.
And now I can’t wait to try this new peach cake, although part of me will miss the stirring process….
My grandmother used to make it with cherry pie filling and pineapple. I have made it with blueberries and pineapple, also pumpkin. But I aways use Butter flavored cake mix. Can’t wait to try the brown sugar, pecans for me instead of walnuts!
Peaches are my absolute favorite fruit, and I always associate them with summer, yet I am eternally craving them. What a delightful way to brighten up winter!
This “recipe” is old as the hills… I’ve made it with just about every fruit available! Nothing new, but still just as delicious!!!
This recipe looks delicious – but I have to echo a few of the other commenters in asking what yellow cake mix is? I can’t get it here in Ireland and would really like to try this out!
Love your blog, so inspiring!
Oh My! I cannot wait to make this!
Just wanted to let you know, it brought a smile to my face to hear I am not alone in the world when I cannot turn away a spoonful of brown sugar when I am baking with it! :D
I just made this after a long day of playing in our first snowfall of the year! My son who hates peaches devoured a huge piece, ala mode of course. I will be making this many more times, thanks for a great dessert
Dump cake! Yum!
I so need your help. I have lost my frosting recipe for my yummy sugar cookies! I’ve looked on your site and can’t figure out what to use. My recipe was in between a royal icing and a butter cream. I want the frosting to stay on and not really smudge but I don’t want it to be real hard………does that make sense?
(p.s. I am so in love with your site and have forwarded it to many others.)
I’ll have to try this with a non-peach fruit so my peach-hating husband will eat it. Yum!
That looks so good…I’ve made this before, and forgotten how yummy it is!
I make a similar one, except I use 1 can cherry pie filling, 11/2 cup chocolate syrup drizzled over the cherries, then 1 chocolate devils’ food cake mix, 1 stick of butter, and then slivered almonds. Bake, and watch out…it goes fast!
I’ve made previous dump cakes with pumpkin…but never even thought it could be done like this.
I may have to run to the store to make an apple or cherry version.
Oh. Yum. Thank you!
You’re tops in my cookbook!
This looks wonderful!
I think i am falling in luv ….with this website :)
I add cinnamon. cloves and ginger to my sugar and bake YUMMMO
I do the same but with either sliced granny smith apples or fresh rhubarb (adding some sugar with both). It never lasts more than a day in our house!
I seriously thought I was the only person who snuck bites of brown sugar straight up.
I use two sticks of butter. I want to try it with cherries and chocolate cake. What do you think?
Oooooo that looks so YUMMY!!! I think I’m going to try it– it sounds really PEACHY!!!! Even my friend calls me Peachy– it’s such a peachy name!!! I love peaches!!!! WOOO!!!!!!
Looks awesome! Easy too :
Thanks for sharing!!
This looks sooo good, I have to try it!
Also, good luck on your own (well deserved) nomination! I voted!
i am going STRAIGHT home and making one of these! yikes!
Hhhmm, Peaches+Butter+Brown Sugar+E.Z.=I Love it!!!
Thank you for sharing.
I make this with cherry and no brown sugar (although that’s a great idea!). I agree with you that “dump cake” as it was passed on to me from my grandmother is not as glorious a term as the dessert tastes!! And I love making it because it tastes exquisite but is SO EASY! :)
ack! there goes the eat less sugar resolution. that looks delish! that is so easy and i have all the stuff i need at home already. nom-nom-nom. :P
This dessert looks liek an awesome idea for a dinner party…it’s so easy yet delicious (or at least I trust that it is)! You can make it in advance and just heat it up or leave it cold. Excellent Idea!
You shouldn’t have posted those other blogs. I am now obsessed with that wedding one under design! Don’t worry, I am still voting for you!
Oh…my…goodness…this looks absolutely delicious!!! Must…make…and eat…ah!!
I voted for ya for the bloggie awards!! Ah, yeh and I just died reading this recipe for this dessert, which will be making an appearance on my kitchen table this weekend…. oh yeh baby!
HEY Bakerella :)
I made a “cake” like this for a Christmas party at work . Like you, I decided I didn’t like calling it a “dump cake” SO I called it a PAA (pineapple, apple) cake like “pa, cake” it was delicious. I’ll definitely be trying this one as well.
You can make this with any kind of pie filling. I LOVE cherry or apple…or both. Use 2 cans of pie filling for a 9×13 pan or 1 can and a box of Jiffy cake mix for an 8×8 pan.
I’m not a nut person so I just leave them out. I haven’t put brown sugar on top but I’m gonna try it next time!
Just right for a warm-you-up winter treat. Yummety-yum-yum!
What if you made your own cake mix (dry goods only)? All you add to cake mix is water/milk and eggs, right? So … add the sugar to the dry goods and use that as your cake mix?
Would it work?
I might just have to try it :)
(pssst … thanks for surprising us with a Thursday post!)
Dang, there goes my desert-free weekend! Off to the store to get the ingredients!
This looks so delicious! I can’t wait to try. It’s definitely going to be something I make this weekend. Thanks for the great idea!
haha, my mom made this for us as kids and she always called it “dumb bunny cake” because any dumb bunny can make it! :) you can also use pie filling (ANY flavor!) and it is awesome. i think i’ll make this tonight!
My mom and I make this with cherry pie filling and pound cake mix – makes the crumbly top extra scrumptious!
Wowza! This looks absolutely delicious…divine…and all those other great d words!!!
This actually is sort of similar to this pumpkin pie cake that I looooove and make every Thanksgiving. The yellow cake and butter on top is really what makes it sooooo delicious!
OMG! I have to make this tonight! My hubby will think he’d died and gone to Heaven! Wow!
Sounds delish! I’ll definitely be trying this tonight! Thanks ;)
This looks yummy. I’ll have to add ingredients on my shopping list.
Oh, this looks so good! but I just got braces and am in so much pain there’s no way I could eat this, esp. the nuts. I am just going to have to wait, but oh……..
Oh my…..this looks amazing. Will definitely have to make this. Going to try it with apricots as well!
See, this is the type of recipe I rationalize and say it’s “healthy” for breakfast because it contains fruit. And of course I have to add the ice cream on top because that’s my “dairy” group ;)
That looks just wonderful! I recently made a pain in the ass complicated peach dessert, and now I want to kick myself because this simple thing looks so tasty! I’ll have to try it out with my niece this weekend. :-)
You posted on a Thursday, what a great Friday morning surprise! That “cake” looks so yummy, I think I’ll try it this weekend! :)
You had me at easy! I’m going to try it this weekend! looks delicious!
My mom has made this for years. One of my favorite variations is to use peaches and pineapple mixed with a sprinkle of coconut and then server with pineapple sherbet.
You can also use any canned pie filling for the fruit. Comstock had an apple and cranberry filling in the fall that was yummy in this recipe.
fabulous post! i will def have to try this!!!
Any suggestions for getting the crunch without using nuts? I’m not a big nut fan, but this recipe looks awesome! I’m so making it tonight.
Oh, yeah. We’ve got snow coming this weekend and this would be the perfect dessert after a good bowl of beef stew. wonder if I could use some uncooked oats instead of the nuts, I don’t like nuts. And do you need to grease the pan first?
We love that dessert. In our house we call it dump cake. I have never topped it with brown sugar or nuts, I think I might have to give that a try.
This cake is good with just about any type of canned fruit. In our house apple is first with peach running a very close second.
I see no reason this couldn’t be considered breakfast.
I love the brown sugar idea.
Please try this version:
2 cans of apple pie filling
1 box of Spice cake mix
2 sticks of butter (one more stick than your recipe, but it does seem to make it better !)
assembled and baked just like yours. I was so VERY excited for your nominations. Being a GA girl myself, I feel proud for you !!
THIS looks fabulous. My mouth is watering! I will definitely be firing up the oven this weekend for this scrumptious delight! Wow!
I make a dump cake that my husband adores! 1 pint of blueberries across the bottom, 1 can crushed pineapple, 1 box lemon cake mix, 1 stick butter, 2/3 cup light brown sugar.
Yum! It’s so easy, and sooo good! I might think about adding some chopped pecans to it next time, but my son doesn’t like nuts so I don’t add nuts to much af anything anymore. I miss nuts!
My best friend of many years used to make this with cherry pie filling. It was soooo yummy but when we all became more calorie focused, it suddenly seemed too sinful. Nowadays, I think it would be a great special treat for sure. I like the peach idea.
I just visited the Bloggie website and voted. I was loyal first to you…I just love this site… but also had to vote to The Pioneer Woman in the catagories you were not nominated for so I felt good about spreading the vote!
Good Luck, I hope you both win!!
oooooooooooohhhhhhh…that looks sooooooooooo good AND sooooooooooooo easy! My kind of cooking :) DEFINITELY trying this!
I made a blueberry dump cake (like this–with the cake mix and everything), but when I told my husband what it was called, we decided we should probably call it “blueberry delight” instead. It just sounds much more appetizing.
I’ve made the dump cake with Cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple, but never this one with peaches, brown sugar and walnuts…looks delish! Thanks for the recipe Bakerella….hope to see you in the isles of Cake Art soon!
I have been making “dump cake” for years, but I love your peach variation! I have to try it. My family loves it with cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple on the bottom (minus the nuts on top). Yummmy…you really should try it that way!
By the way, I am relatively new to your blog and I LOVE IT!!! Thanks a bunch. :0)
I think the copious amounts of drool coming from my mouth almost shorted out my keyboard. But it would be worth it. How amazing and easy is that? I’m totally making it! THANK YOU!
I love your blog and voted yesterday for Best Food. Good luck to you!
I don’t like either canned fruits or candied fruits. Do you know if it works with fres fruits (apples, bananas or pears)?
Thaaaaaaanx a lot =)
Please move to my part of Georgia and be my best friend so you can share the goodies with me. Congrats on the Bloggie nominations!
My family has been making this for eons. But slightly different. We drain the peaches and mix them with sugar, cinnamon and flour like making a peach pie, then dump them in the pan and cover with cake mix and butter. I have never tried it with nuts though. Lately we have been adding a splash of vanilla in with the peaches.
I actually have some in the fridge right now that needs to be eaten up. YUMMY!!!!
Wow, that looks wonderful!
We used to make it with canned cherry pie filling and pineapple.
I´m coming from Germany, reading you´re blog really often. This “Ridiculously Easy” sounds very yum yum, the pictures are more yum yum, but I´ve a problem: What is “1 package yellow cake mix” ? I didn´t find a translation what makes sence :-( Could you help me, please ? Thanks.
The cake is also amazing with pineapple in heavy syrup. Top it the same way except mix some flaked coconut with the sugar on top. (I don’t measure, just throw in a couple of handfuls)
Looks yummy and there isn’t anything easier, is there?
I voted for you last night! Woo hoo, go Bakerella! Lots of honorable nominees, but you take the bake..I mean cake!
My friend made a very similar recipe as yours adding pineapple chunks and cherry pie filling (with the peaches and yellow cake mix). I could have eaten the ENTIRE pan myself it was so good. Can’t wait to try yours out! It looks heavenly!
Have a great weekend Bakerella!
That looks sooo good!
This recipe is far from 70’s and we made this at school on home economics class
1 dl water
75 g melted butter
3 dl oat flakes
0,5 dl sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Pour water in a dish. Peel and slice apples and put then in the dish. Mix oat flakes with sugar and cinnamon and pour melted butter among them.
Spread compound on the top of the apples. Bake at 200 C about 20 minutes or until apples are soft.
Serve warm with vanilla sauce or ice cream.
Easy and amazingly delicious!!!
Ridiculously easy but reeeaaaly good !!
Ohhh delicious. Fabulous, must try that, we love LOVE peaches in this house. Love Posie
YES! I’m not the only one who eats brown sugar straight up!! WOHOO! *happy dance* I’m going to have to make this for my coworker who LOVES anything peach. And for my dad of course. It looks soo…easy!
Oh dear Bakerella-love that name….this is so so so good dear……amazinlgly simply and a must try-u always are so amazing….
Ofcourse i did vote for u and a few of ur favs too……as will thousands others vote for u for sure….
OMG. MUST. EAT. THIS. SOON.
Thanx for sharing :)
That.. looks.. so.. delicious! I will definitely be making your dessert this weekend & hopefully it’ll look as amazing as yours `=O)
Ok, this is something I’m going to have to make. it’s too easy not to! I have a feeling my husband is going to be impressed! :)
MMMMMMMMM! I want to make so bad now, but with pecans,, not a walnut fan! I have to wait till my cheat day tho. :(
BTW.. you are so sweet to list your competitors, I’m voting for you tho! Hope you win!
How SWEET, right?? :)
Would be fantastic made with canned boysenberries and a chocolate cake mix!
Creative. I think banana would have been awesome too, with dulce de leche drizzled over!!!
Oh my goodness! This looks so yummy it’s making my tummy growl! I am going to have bake-filled weekend and make many many many treats to take back to my dorms with me for school! Thanks so much for the yummy and easy treats that even a college kid can afford! ;)
i think i could actually make this! LOL! i’ll vote for you!
That is easy! I can’t wait to make it!
I make this all the time. It is my favorite quick dessert! It is way better than it looks… if that is believable!
We make a version of this cake all the time when we go camping. We put it in a dutch oven lined with tinfoil, pour in peaches, sprinkle a cake mix, then just pour a can of sprite over the top. That way it makes for easy food storage (you don’t have to have butter). Of course you can always sprinkle cinnamon, brown sugar, or both. Or my personal favorite sprinkle a packet of instant oatmeal on top–like maple and brown sugar flavor…
Thanks for the good camping info, the soda and instant oatmeal is a great idea. I’m trying on my next camping trip on Labor Day.
I have made this many times using cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple just as Angela pointed out her mom does. It is so easy! Just dump the crushed pineapple in a 9×13 glass dish. Then dump cherry pie filling on top. Then dump dry yellow cake mix on top of that and slice 2 sticks of butter into twelve pieces each and spread out pieces across top of cake mix. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour and voila! Very delicious and almost more like a cobbler than a cake. I’m definitely going to try this with the peaches and maybe even try doing one with apples.
I make something similar to this without the b. sugar though. The other thing that is different is that I melt the butter first so that all the cake mix is covered as once in a while you will come across an area that the juice didn’t absorb into the mix. I will also add cinnamon across the top.
This looks so yummy! I am adding yellow cake mix and peaches to my grocery list as I type. Thanks for a quick and easy dessert! Have a great weekend!
by a yellow cake mix do you mean something like Buttercake or Vanilla? I’m from Australia so sometimes I don’t always follow 100%… I wouldn’t mind trying this recipe but using pears instead!
Do you think this would come out well without nuts? My mother is seriously allergic, but would LOVE this recipe!
This is very similar to a peaches and cream cobbler. Over the peaches spread a layer of cream cheese and powdered sugar (that has been mixed together :) then top with yellow cake mix, pats of butter, and cinnamon. Looking forward to trying it with the brown sugar and nuts!
Yummy. I too like a spoonful of brown sugar straight up. Nothin better!
Thanks for a great recipe.
Another one that I can’t wait to try!
my mom makes this with cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple, and no nuts and brown sugar. I am totally telling her to use brown sugar on the next cherry dump cake she makes. So GOOD. I can’t wait to try it with peaches!!!
Wow! I am trying this tomorrow!!!
oh. my. goodness.
I’m not a nut person, so that kinda turned me off, but the rest of that recipe is HEAVEN in a 13×9.
OH! So YUMMY! Must try this. Thanks.
oh goodness, this looks fantastic! although, i must say i’m more of an apple girl than a peaches girl. think i could pull off the same recipe with apples or apple pie filling?
Yum! and I just voted for you. CONGRATS!
Yum–looks so good!
I love this one, we make it quite often. Super simple and so, so good!
oooohhh…i HAVE to make this!! thank you, thank you, thank you!! you are my favorite. <3
Can you make this with something besides peaches? I really don’t like peaches!
