Where I shop…

Cake Art Party Store! I started going here about two years ago when the baking and cake decorating bug bit me. When I first walked in, I was overwhelmed. Actually, I’m still overwhelmed. There’s so much stuff I don’t know… don’t even have a clue about… but I feel like I learn something new every single time I visit. Unfortunately, I can’t do that very often because this store makes me spend money.

Cake Art Party Store

Like on these things. I’m serious… this place is dangerous. I think I get a sugar high or something when I walk in … my heart starts racing … I start picking random stuff up. And when I get home, bags full… I’m like, what just happened.

Cake Art Party Store

But, when you see all these… in one place. You start thinking… do I have enough yellow sprinkles. I can’t remember. Okay, get some more and get some blue ones, and red ones while you’re at it.

Cake Art Party Store

And then, you start thinking that you can’t live without blue teddy bear sprinkles or green palm tree sprinkles, or pink pigs. And what if someone has a baby… I need those baby sprinkles or wait, boys like cupcakes… what about helmet and football sprinkles. You see where I’m going. Let’s just say that I have accumulated my fair share of sprinkles.

The funny thing is … I hardly ever use them on cupcakes or cakes. It just makes me feel good knowing I have them just in case. I know … weird! But, they do come in handy when it comes to decorating cake pops, so that’s how I justify it.

Cake Art Party Store

You can even buy them in bags!

Cake Art Party Store

Here’s something I’ve never tried… and I think I’ll leave for the pros… Airbrush! Pretty colors, though.

Cake Art Party Store

Speaking of colors… did you know you can buy rolled fondant that is already tinted?

I started doing this recently with red fondant because it is seriously a pain to tint it yourself and get it a deep red color.

Cake Art Party Store

Now, a lot of people don’t like the taste of fondant, they just like the look of it from a visual perspective. So, if you just want to experiment, then play around and buy it pre-made. Just don’t get this much. You can stick with the 1 pound packages.

Or if you really want, make some from scratch. I hear marshmallow fondant is pretty good.

Cake Art Party Store
Anyone need 25 lbs of buttercream frosting?

Cake Art Party Store

Or tinted buttercream?

Cake Art Party Store

Not me. I like to make my own buttercream and tint it myself. Yummy!

Cake Art Party Store

Need some petit four icing? Just snip the tip and go. Great for beginners.

Cake Art Party Store

Marzipan… I haven’t dabbled in this stuff yet, but I do like saying the name. Marzipan!

Cake Art Party Store

Check this out! This might just be the best part of the store. Pans! Round ones, oval ones, heart-shaped ones, square ones! And in graduated sizes, too! And different heights! Help me, please.

Cake Art Party Store

Tools. I love tools. Offset spatulas and flat spatulas. Thank you.

Cake Art Party Store

Inside these little trays are every decorating tip you can think of and some you can’t. Grab some disposable bags and couplers and you’re set.

Cake Art Party Store

There’s so much stuff in the store that you can miss little things like this. Petal dust and luster dust… I think I’m in love. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with it.

Cake Art Party Store

Need to stack a big cake? Sorry, I can’t help you… haven’t done that.

Cake Art Party Store

Mine are little and usually just end up on cake boards like these.

Cake Art Party Store

And sometimes, they get put in cake boxes. I love cake boxes. Especially the tiny ones.
Little cakes in little boxes are just the cutest!

Cake Art Party Store

Need some party supplies? They have that, too.

Cake Art Party Store

Baking cups for boys and girls.

Cake Art Party Store

Tons and tons of plastic cake toppers. I’ve never bought anything down this aisle…

Cake Art Party Store

But, this one made me laugh so hard, I almost bought it for a Mother’s Day cake. Then, I pictured myself on Cake Wrecks and stopped myself. :)

Cake Art Party Store

Father’s Day is around the corner, though…

Cake Art Party Store

Almost done… hang in there. Cookie cutters are always fun to have.

Cake Art Party Store

And so are these. I have this set of dual sided graduated cutters. I love them and they come in super handy when I make fondant covered cupcakes.

Cake Art Party Store

Gadgets galore! I can’t stand in this section too long because my pantry just isn’t big enough.

And guess what… that’s just the half of it. Actually, the 1/8th of it. I wish I could show you everything.
Coming soon… candy stuff!

Hope you guys liked looking at all that stuff and thanks Cake Art for letting me show everyone that there’s a much bigger cake world than the 9 inch cake pans I used to buy in the grocery store. And guess what guys… most of it’s easier than you think.

  1. Ohhh I think I fainted a bit there. I’m not sure if it’s a tool but I love my cake turntable.

  2. I love my mini cupcake pan– there’s a much better frosting to cake ratio with those little guys (great for me) and they’re a much better size for my kiddos.

  3. I have been following your blog for a while, but haven’t commented yet… I love all of your cakepop ideas! I made some bunny ones and they were a huge hit with my friends :)

My favorite decorating tool is my case of decorating tips- I’ve been cake decorating for about 5 years now, and I would love some new sprinkles!

  4. Hands down, my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. I cannot live without it!

    branishkt@yahoo.com

  5. I love my mini offset spatula. It’s perfect for icing cupcakes.

  6. What a fun store! I would have to say I love sprinkles the most!
    mjhtham@yahoo.com

  7. I love that you can get premade Marzipan. I have been looking for some everywhere. Great store!!!
    itlngirl08@san.rr.com

  8. My spoonula. Can’t live without it.

  9. My sister has done the marshmallow fondant quite a few times for birthday cakes and cupcakes. It’s very easy to work with and even tasty to eat!

My big spoon/rubber scraper thingey. Works great when mixing big batches of cookies and there’s always lots of leftover dough on the spoon to enjoy. :)

  10. WOW!

Can I say when I visit that store, I could probably die happy afterwards.

So my favourite “tool” is my spice rack. Got it for Christmas this year and it turns and holds 20 of my favourite sprinkles / cocoa powders and the like. It’s so useful, especially for when i’m working with Cake Pops or Cupcake Bites.

  11. i have to have baking paper otherwise i feel like something is going to go seriously wrong! i also have to have a stash of cupcake cups just in case. i would go nuts in a store like that… i’d love some of those cute sprinkles, and the cake boxes are adorable!

  12. My grandma’s bundt pan is my favorite baking tool. I used it to make the chocolate/matcha cake and it was soooooo delicious!

  13. Well, my favorite tool is probably one of those nice spatulas. Not the offset ones, but the straight ones. Soooo much better for icing than butter knifes!

  14. So far, my sprinkle repertoire is the little multi-colored balls they sell at Wal-Mart. I’d love other kinds, though– and with three kids and lots of nieces and nephews, they would get used!

  15. My favorite decorating tool is my spatula, and my second fav is my rubbermaid turntable. Makes icing a cake so fast and easy. Wow, a decorator’s heaven!!!!

  16. I LOVE your website! You have the best ideas! I agree…there is no feeling more exciting than walking into a cake decorating or candy making emporium! LOL

  17. I am so jealous!! We don’t have anything like that here. Ours are all little stores. My favorite tool would probably be my pastry bags. I use them for everything~making cream puffs to decorating cakes to filling chocolate molds. I love all the other things too.

  18. I have to pick one!!!!! I can’t just pick one. There are so many and I love them all, I don’t want to make any one sad. Okay my favorite would have to be my icing colors……it is like a rainbow in my cupboard.

  19. That is a store that I’d probably get lost in for days… I love my mini cookie scoop that I use for other things besides cookie dough, like rice balls or mashed potatoes, my kids love it! I also love anything sold in variety of colors, like food coloring, sprinkles, and cupcake liners. :)

  20. I wish I lived closer to Georgia! I would like some sprinkles and a trip to that awesome store! :)

  21. I love sprinkles!! They can add the perfect touch to my not so perfect cupcakes. Covers my mistakes. My kids love using them too. I mean sometimes a whole bottle for one cupcake!

  22. That store looks awesome! I wish there was one near me. I’ve been looking for unique sprinkles and that store seems to have plenty. I’m also always looking for cute baking cups.

  23. my favorite baking tool is this mini spatula from pampered chef. It’s the perfect size for putting homemade frosting on yummy funfetti cupcakes.

    princesscd5729@hotmail.com

  24. Wow, I could definitely spend some time (and money) in a store like that! My favorite baking tool is most certainly my stand mixer. Buttercup yellow, standing tall on my counter top looking beautiful and begging to be used!

  25. My favorite baking tool of the moment is my copper Onesie cookie cutter. I’m making cute Onesie cookies for all my expecting girlfriends!

    Tammy
    kiwiwi@gmail.com

  26. I am jealous, I need them to open one of those stores near me now!

  27. Me me me, I want 20 kinds of sprinkles, please me!

  28. First of all when making cupcakes SPRINKLES are an essential tool for me in the kitchen! but other than that I love mini muffin pans. I even cook appetizers in them too!

  29. I love all sorts of sprinkles! I too have started a mini-collection!

  30. Wow! I sure wish I had a store like that near me! I’m pretty sure my husband would hate it though – I would spend WAY too much money there! One of my favorite tools is my set of graduated circle cutters. I use them on almost every cake I make in some way or another.

  31. Offset spatulas and chocolate molds have changed my life! I haven’t been to Cake Art yet, but I need to go soon. :)

  32. Oh I forgot to add, I wish we had a store like that here. When I lived in IL we had a store similar to this one, not quite as large, but I could get all my baking supplies. I now live in OK and there is NOT a baking supply store here near me. :( My options are Wal-Mart, Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. Not my idea of a baking supply house. I have ordered from your store of choice online.

  33. I love candy pebbles! They’re so cute!

  34. When it comes to cake decorating my favorite tool would be a toss up between my angled spatula and my turntable cake stand! Don’t think I could go without either one! Love me some sprinkles, and who knew there were so many different kinds! Love it!!
    mallory.murdock@gmail.com

  35. ohmygoodness! I've always wanted to know where you get all your adorable things! because i just can't find all of it, only some at micheal's D: but yay sprinkles! & i've been looking for some alphabet sprinkles, do they have those? probably. but i do hope i win. if so, info: karennxa@yahoo.com

  36. My favorite baking tool is my hands! Dont worry, I wash first :)

  37. I’m not really into baking….but after this post I want to be. You inspire me! Love all the fun things.

  38. Oh, those sprinkles look amazing! /swoon I’ve recently become obsessed with making cupcake bites, some new sprinkles would really make my day/week/month. ;-) As for my fav baking item, I would have to say a kitchenaid mixer…which I don’t actually own! I have to always borrow my mom’s.

  39. Looks like a great place!
One of my favorite decorating tools is my cool accordion type containers with decorator tips. The make funky decorating so easy.

  41. That store looks like absolute heaven! I could spend all day in there. Thank you for sharing!! One of my favorite tools would be the different sizes of scoops. No wait, my huge cake knife. No, my different sizes of pans. Can I have another question? :) As for sprinkles, the little white ones you used to cover your little sheep pops. Can’t find them at any of the stores by me.

  42. Does my Kitchen Aid count?

  43. I love sprinkles. Currently, we are out of sprinkles.

  44. I love everything about decorating cakes. I made my daughter’s college graduation cake this past Thursday and she helped me do something I had not done before and that was putting a filling in the middle of the cake. I was quite impressed with the technique and I am sure I will be doing more of that. The sugar you used for the Easter cupcake baskets is something I would love to have. You can reach me at http://www.2china4darci.blogspot.com. Thanks!!

  45. Definitely my silicone non-stick sheet! It is great for all the baking I do!

Petit four glace is the most time consuming thing, and dont be scared of marzipan, its real fun!

    tashana.saurus@gmail.com

  56. I would have never guessed in a million years there were so many sprinkles…And please do your best to stay of cake wrecks, and that plastic dude would be a one way ticket to that blog! LOL

  57. My favorite tool is by far my offset spatula!

    caseyjeanniem@msn.com

  58. I’m pretty fond of gel coloring. I love that it only takes a tiny bit to get something so vibrant.

I’d like to find those teeny tiny candy coated chocolate chips you used recently. They were adorable and I could think of a few uses!

  59. Ohhhhh!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE sprinkles! Especially the sugar crystal kind. They are divine on top of frosted cupcakes.

  60. I couldn’t live without my kitchenaid stand mixer.

  61. What an amazing store. I’d go crazy in there. My fav baking tool is my Kitchenaid Mixer.

    lilacplace489@yahoo.com

  62. My favorite thing is my new mini bundt pan…

  63. My favorite thing is my piping bag…I use it for cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and even savory things like deviled eggs or twice baked potatoes…

    countryslchic@yahoo.com

  64. It’s a good thing I don’t live in Georgia, because I would spend waaaayy to much money there!

My favorite decorating tools are my offset spatulas – from the little ones to the big ones – perfect for cakes!

    rcoomans@sbcglobal.net

  68. love it! makes me want to go whip up some cupcakes right now! hmm, favorite cake decorating tool? hard to say, love my pastry bag and tips, but i’m also a sucker for shaped cake pans. as far as sprinkles go, you can never have enough, i prefer crystal sugars, love that crunch! but being a california girl, i miss my dragees!!

  69. I’d LOVE some more sprinkles! :) Any Disney ones? Any will do though, really! Pick me (integer generator), pick me!

  70. Wow, I wish I could find a store like that around here!! I would be in heaven.. and even more broke!

    kissingaudrey@yahoo.com

  71. Loved this blog! I wish that store was in my area, but then again I’d probably go broke :)~ I love all sprinkles and think I need everything “just in case” hehe. I could never pick just one favorite tool, I love everything from pans to icing tools to cutters to sprinkles!

  72. Waht an awesome store! I would love the mini cake cutters that you have.

  73. I love my silicon baking mat.

  74. Like you, I have the graduated cutters and I love them, cookies, biscuits, homemade cheese crackers, cheese, etc.

  75. My favorite tool is my spreading spatula! I just got it about a year ago, and I honestly don’t know how I lived without it.

My favorite sprinkles are all of them!!

  76. Oh my gosh. I nearly cried when I saw these pics! I live in the middle of nowhere with nary a restaurant supply/cake decorating store in sight! I have wishlists at several online stores and I keep adding more and more to them. (And honestly, they are mostly sprinkles!!!) The thing holding me back, stupidly, is that I’ve been looking for horse/pony sprinkles for my daughter (who is obsessed with horses/ponies). My favorite baking tool is my ginormous star tip I use to frost my cupcakes. Btw, I know exactly what you mean about buying sprinkes, etc. and not actually using them. I have a rainbow of crystallized sugars and a handful of different sprinkles and I rarely use them! But it makes me feel warm and fuzzy knowing they are there if I need them!
    jharlow81@gmail.com

  77. I love good old-fashioned colored sugar crystals. Mmmm.

FYI.. My son would LOVE that store. He loves anything with sprinkles. Thanks! (derekandjennifer97@yahoo.com)

  80. I would get in so much trouble in this store!!! I love sprinkles. They make any cake look festive. My favorite baking tool is my set of silicone baking mats. They make clean up so easy.

  82. Those icing tubes that come with different tips so it’s super easy to decorate cakes.

    echin22@gmail.com

  83. Not technically a baking tool, but a presentation tool- my snakeskin textured charger. I picked them, (I have a black one and a silver one), from Target around Halloween- big enough for a decent sized round cake, but also great for cupcakes or cookies!

  89. I better not enter your giveaway contest (I’m not even a beginning baker yet!), but I just had to leave a comment to say that this post was so much fun to read! I didn’t even know there were stores like this out there!

    Really enjoy your blog!

So send them to meeeee! <3Bakerella<3

    jarapeles *at* gmail *dot* com

  92. Oh holy cow I’d go insane. Keep me far far away from that place! I had a friend who would make wedding cakes for our friends and she showed me how to correctly use an icing spreader. I love it now that I know how to use it right! Someday I’d like to get one of those kits with the different tips to make designs with too. Not that I need to be eating any cakes mind you, I’d just make them pretty and give them away!

  93. holy fun

  95. What a fun place to shop! I personally love the bag and tip. I used it this weekend to frost cupcakes, worked perfectly and almost professional!

  96. Curses on you. I didn't know you lived in Georgia. I certainly didn't know that Cake Art was also in Georgia! Now, it turns out I'm only about 40 minutes away for baking heaven and the promised shopgasm is just that much closer!

I wonder if my husband will approve a home equity loan so that I can go on a quick visit there?…

Favorite product… my gold cookie sheet & Silpat from Williams-Sonoma. It costs to much, but it was worth it :)

  97. I wish we had a massive decorating store like that in Adelaide, South Australia…oh the possibilities, I too would spend a fortune each visit though!
My favourite baking tool is cupcake liners, they just add so much to the style/design of each cupcake.
I would love to be able to find some flower sprinkles, in bright colours!!

  98. i have three kids. we can never have enough sprinkles! i am totally amateur in the decorating department, but i do it anyway… with homemade marshmallow fondant :)

  116. I can’t keep myself from buying every cute cookie cutter shape I see. But, do I make yummy cookies with them?? NO! Because I’m still trying to find the perfect sugar cookie recipe. Once I find and bake the perfect sugar cookie, then I’ll worry about my lack of creative juices and skills to decorate the cookies. Oh, I have so far to go…but a bunch of sprinkles would DEF help in the motivation department!! =)

  117. dang that store rocks

    scrappingdaniatyahoo.com

  121. I can’t live without sprinkles.

I let the kiddos decorate their own birthday cakes and they always choose sprinkles.

  122. My favorite baking tool is my kitchen scale! Does that count? I just love the ability to precisely measure ingredients. I’m such a dork ;-)

  123. What else can that store possibly have if that is only 1/8th of it?!!!!! I don’t have much time for baking, but I would love some fun sprinkles to decorate cupcake pops with. I love making them, but I need to think outside the box and try shapes next time! Thanks for sharing the pictures! :)

  124. I love my Silpat and I love all sprinkles but probably good I don’t live by one of these stores or I would be bankrupt!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

    Heather

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  129. I really, really want a flower cutter that you use to make cupcake bites! Or, you know..anything cool! I really want to go to that store too!

  130. I think I am in love with a cake store. That place looks amazing! I had a hard time finding the sprinkles you used for your chick pops and I’m sure this is the store to buy them at. My favorite baking item is everything in my baking tool caddy. I love how organized it makes me.

  131. My offset spatula is my absolute favorite! I use it for lots of different things, not just smoothing buttercream frosting!

    bsktwvr@cox.net

  132. I am soooooo glad I do not live near that place! I don’t think I would ever leave. But I am a kitchen gadget drooler. Favorite tool? Geeee, my measuring cups. They are Tupperware and so handy. (I did just spot some others I really want! ROFL)

  133. Wow….just freaking wow!!! I have a cake store near me, and I get that way every single time I enter…I could blow a thousand bucks EASY (if I ever had that much to spend of course, ha!).
My favourite decorating item would have to be the luster dusts, I could play with them for hours! Those sprinkles are gorgeous, all those beautiful colours, awesome!

    Backofthecupboard AT hotmail.com

  134. The one item I absolutely love when it comes to my baking is my icing tint. I make my own buttercream and then tint it whatever color I want so I love it. And the one item I’ve been looking for that I can’t find?!? Soccer sprinkles!

  135. wonderful. the store it beautiful.
there are sprinkles for ANY sort of baking.
    i love edible decorations.

    http://www.agirlandherblogspot.blogspot.com

  136. My favorite is the Silicone Dipping Bowls. They make cookie and candy dipping so much easier. Cleaning it is much faster for chocolates cus it bends when things dry up.

  137. That store looks absolutely amazing! So many colors and shiny gadgets…

My favorite baking tool has got to be my mini scoop. Before I started using it I always made a huge mess pouring (not to mention uneven cupcake/cookie sizes). It’s definitely streamlined the baking process for me.

  138. I have GOT to find a store like that here! My favorite baking item happens to be sprinkles. I buy them whenever and wherever I can. I also love my ice cream scoop for filling cupcake liners.

  139. I really want some mickey mouse sprinkles. :)

  140. My favorite tool? Viva paper towels! Nothing smooths butter cream on a cake faster than a Viva paper towel and a fondant smoother. :D

  141. I love sprinkles! It’s so hard to find a good variety where I live though, so all I ever get are the standard ones.

  142. I love crystalized sugar, which I’m not sure counts as sprinkles. But I love me some of that stuff, hardcore. I also like the little balls. Heck, lets be honest, I like them all.

And I love baking in my heart shaped pans, for any and every occasion.

    Madeleine, madeleine.lux@gmail.com

  143. Oh I need some sprinkles!

  144. How funny! I grew up going to Cake Art with my mom (we lived in Stone Mountain), then moved away and forgot about it!! Thanks for the reminder – I’m heading to Atlanta next week and I’ll have to stop in! :)

  145. Wow, what a great store! My mind is blank after seeing all that. I don’t think I would ever be able to settle on just a few things in a store like that!! It’s ToysRUs for baking types.

Nothing like that up here in CanadaLand.

And my fav thing is my mixer. Love it. :)

  146. Can you ever get enough sprinkles! I have quite a few cute little bottles but it never feels like enough. My favorite tool is my rubber spatula, Couldn’t live without it.

    kellyward_44@hotmail.com

  147. I want, no I NEED one of those stores by me. I don't even get into the fancy baking, but I do get carried away with the decorations on cakes & cupcakes. I guess my favorite baking tool would be a cookie press that I actually use for decorating with icing instead. I've been searching for some sprinkles of sorts that are in a princess theme.

  148. Oh, how I wish Cake Art was near me. It would be sooo dangerous.

I’m still new at creative decorating, using your wonderful creations as starting point. So, I’ll say my favorite baking tool is my Kitchen Aid Mixer. Real original right?

  149. Looks like a really fun place to spend lots and lots of money! My favorite tool is my Bosch mixer. I can whip up cookies or cakes really fast! Saves on the arm muscles too! Thanks for the chance.

    charloe@hotmail.com

  150. I love your creative process. Sprinkles is about as creative as I get :)

  151. O. M. G. I must go there someday. Just thinking about going to a store like that makes me happy.

I don’t have a favorite tool or technique, just like trying new things. The next think I try is going to be the adorable candy melt flowers from your Mothers Day cupcakes!

  152. I’m not much of a baker, but my daughters love it. They bake all the time. I just like to eat them..haha!

    jitchan@gmail.com

  153. I once lived down the street from the orginial store in Stone Mountain. I would purchase cake boxes and cake pan molds! I still have a Wilton Decorating catalog from the 70’s which is my fav!
Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!

  154. Pick ONE favorite tool? That’s nearly impossible! But it’s definitely between my mini cupcake pans and my KitchenAid mixer. They both make me infinitely happy. Maybe even as happy as 20 containers of sprinkles will make my four children if I win!

  155. Gotta say, my favorite tool is my can of Baker’s Joy. No more stuck cakes for me!

(My husband is telling me to tell you he LOVES sprinkles!)

  156. WOW…what an amazing place! I wish we had somewhere like that close to where I live!!! I am in love with sprinkles of every color and wish I had some that were star shaped…maybe around 4th of July I’ll find some!

Hmm…my favorite baking tool is probably the plastic spatula, great for getting every last drop out of the bowl :)

  158. Let me tell you I never looked at sprinles much untiol I started following you and now they are little pieces of art work. LOL

Wish that store were by me but I guess its for the best I would go broke but at least I’d go broke baking lol…

    sandpaperxsilk (at) hotmail

  161. Call me crazy, but my favorite “tool” for baking, is PAM for baking… the stuff with the flour already in it! Helps make sure those cakes/cupcakes never stick!

  162. Sprinkles are my favorite! My kids love to frost and put sprinkles on pretty much everything we bake. So cute.

  163. I’ve actually loved my (totally unprofessional) zip-loc baggies. I am a college student and I have to borrow other ppl’s kitchen to bake, so I can’t just expect random icing tools to be on hand. Haha

    jade.N.fuchsia@gmail.com

  164. I can’t live without my kitchen aid mixer. :D

  165. Whoa! Thats a sexy store!

I would love the graduated flower cookie cutters or the circle ones. And the sprinkles, oh my gracious are those wonderful!

  166. That was a fun post!!! My favorite baking tool is my flexible pie spatula with the saw tool edge. I use it for cookies, bars, cakes, and of course, pie.

  167. I want to go to that store!!!!!! I think my favorite baking tool is my Silpat which I use all the time for baking cookies.

  168. Hi, Bakerella..

My favorite tool is my offset spatula for spreading frosting. Just used it tonight, in fact.

I like any sprinkles. I have a 5 year old daughter who adores pink and purple. *groan*

    Emily

  170. I have never been to a baking supply store that big, but I can never seem to leave the cookie cutter section in Target. I just keep staring at it.

    corynnchan@yahoo.com

  171. I really like my icing colors. I love to mix them into buttercream icing!

  172. Greatest. Store. Ever.

  173. 149 comments already, so I’m thinking my odds aren’t good. LOVE the blog, LOVE baking, LOVE cupcakes! I’m always looking for number sprinkles. I made cupcakes for friends the other day, celebrating a dual birthday and I wanted to put 2s and 4s on their cupcakes… but I couldn’t find them. I do my shopping at King Arthur Flour (right up the street), but their decorating selection is mall compared to your store :)

  174. Can’t do without the kitchen stand mixer. LOVE LOVE LOVE it :)

  175. Love my big offset spatula. It gives me a smooth, pretty base frosting. My email is cblinton at swbell dot net

  182. HOLY COW! I think I would have died and gone to heaven in that store!

Do you ever just want to frolic in your sprinkles like Scrooge McDuck did with his money?

My fave cake decorating tool: lazy Suzanne. Helps to look at the cake from every angle.

  183. I have never seen a store like that before–must not have any in Texas! My favorite tool is my box of decorating tips–they are just so much fun to experiment with. Never done much with sprinkles–hope I can soon!!!

  184. I love my small offset spatula. It is a life saver for many projects.

  185. I collect cookbooks, but my favorite baking items are always sprinkles. Any time my friends travel they know that I want sprinkles.

I love it when my friends go to Europe. Very good sprinkles.

    -jenni@amazed.com

  190. Oh
    My
    Gosh!

I see what you mean, I’m sure I could spend hour and a years salary in a store like that! I wonder if there’s one around here lol.

I think my favorite tool other than my custom and vintage cookbooks, is my decorators tool box. Literally, it’s a HUGE tool box that I had once bought for my husband but he never used. Now it holds all my tints, fondant tools, tips, bags, spatulas and the like. I think I’d lose it if something happened to my tool box!

  191. zomg…. sprinkles as far as you can see! Why did I not know this store existed before? Why can’t I go right.now?!

Seriously, I love sprinkles. They’re a crucial part of cookie decorating in my family. For example, the year I created an Elvis themed set of Christmas cookies, complete wit a sequined (in sprinkles) jump suit. And Ann Margaret was there, just for giggles. Or the year I created a CSI: Gingerbread theme, complete with a surprise twist ending.

My parents say they’re horrified, but I know they’d be very, very disappointed if I didn’t do something outrageous.

Here’s hoping I win some sprinkles or – failing that – that I can make my way to this store myself.

  192. My favorite tool(s) would have to be my grandma’s trusty metal mixing bowls! They’re great for mixing, serving, everything, and I love that I can put one over a sauce pot to make a double boiler. What an awesome giveaway!

  193. Oh my word! That store is amazing! I would LOVE one near me!

I cannot live without my decorating tips. I use them mainly for cakes and cupcakes but also for appetizers and side dishes! SO versatile!!

  194. My favorite decorating item is my 50 piece Wilton tip set. It allows me such a range of creativity every time I make a cake.

  195. Oh, and just a thought on the glitter powder – have you ever made fish pops? I think it would look very good on some fish scales in lined patterns. (I have no idea how difficult that would be to accomplish.) Or possibly leaves for the falls.

Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of that store. I love how your blog is always full of lovely pictures and nifty ideas.

  196. Good God, I thought the Michael’s near me was amazing.

My favorite baking tool is my first dark nonstick 8×8 pan. I got it as a freshman in college (a whole four years ago, ha) and it’s still with me. I learned how to make brownies and fresh bread in it. But there is a special place in my heart for Ziploc freezer bags as piping bags. =)

    kfarrel3[at]gmail[dot]com

  197. My favorite tools are my wilton icing tips- you can attach them with a coupler to the wilton pre-tinted decorating icing! I love the sprinkles that look like glitter!
