A couple of weeks ago, I made some Mickey and Minnie Cake Pops and I asked which ones you might want me to try next. Winnie was one of the front runners … lucky for me, since I was planning on doing him already. So, I’m glad a lot of you wanted to see the sweet little guy.
Some of the others you wanted to see ranged from Sponge Bob to princesses. Yo Gabba Gabba to Calvin & Hobbes. Which by the way, I didn’t realize Calvin & Hobbes had such a following. And yo… what’s a Gabba Gabba? Muppets, on the other hand I know. They were another one a lot of you want to see… and guess what, I have a really good version from a reader to post in the Pop Stars section soon. I mean really good.
I don’t know which characters I’ll try next, but these Poohs were fun to do. I love how the smallest adjustments to the cake ball shapes and choice of candies can change them into so many different variations.
Of course, we start with making cake balls.
If you need help shaping Pooh’s head, you can print or find an image of him to lay under wax paper. Then you can use it as a guide for the shape. Lollipop sticks can also be used to help shape his brow.
Okay, here are a couple of the basic add-ons you’ll need. Brown rainbow chip sprinkles for the nose and coated sunflower seeds for the ears. Any light color will be fine.
Practice making his head. Then you can place the candies on to use as a model and to see if your proportions are right.
Yellow candy melts. A must unless you want to tint white candy coating with yellow candy color.
Shape the heads, dip the coated sunflower seeds in candy coating and then attach them to the head to dry.
Once dry, dip the entire head in yellow coating. If you use darker color seeds, they might show through the yellow coating.
Look how cute and happy he is. Too bad I’m going to chomp his little cheeks later.
Youc an draw on facial details with a black and red edible ink pen (Americolor Gourmet Writing Pens are great) and add a sprinkle tongue for an extra touch. Oh and the eyes are black non-pareil sprinkles. I’m not that good at drawing perfect little dots, so these worked out great.
You can also use red candy melts to give Pooh part of his shirt.
But you know Pooh’s not complete unless he has his hunny.
Lots and lots of hunny.
These are pretty easy … purple and yellow candy melts, a black edible ink pen and a cartoon bear’s vocabulary.
The complete instructions for Pooh and his hunny are available through the links below on Disney’s website, family.go.com! Have fun!

You are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are so qute! And you are so talented!
I enjoy your pictures and cookies every time I visit your blog. :D
Oh my gosh! you are so talented! I can’t believe how you started with a cake ball, made an indentation with a lollipop stick, added a smile and a couple pieces of candy and it already looks just like Pooh! you are amazing!
these are brilliant!
These are fantastic! Too cute for words. I’d try them but I know that i’ll never be able to shape pooh like that.
Amazing. Just when I am thinking that the Pooh pops were too cute, I scrolled down a little further and….. hunny pots :-) I am speechless.
These are so cute! Are there brands of the edible pens that are better than others? I bought some to make the Toy Story Alien cake pops and the pen would not write on the candy coating…suggestions? Thanks!
I just can’t believe it’s edible!
I guess I’ll ask again… are cake pops an original idea of yours Bakerella?
Sorry, but are you human? :) These are perfection. Unbelievably impressed.
OMG you have outdone yourself !!! AMAZING !! I cannot wait for your book. I hope you will visit the NW on a book tour.
These are adorable. You make it look so easy. I think you are just super talented, though.
May you continue to NEVER cease to amaze us all! WOW! I especially loved the hunny pots – not that Pooh himself wasn’t awesome. But, knowing my skills… I’d be all over those hunny pots!
OMGOSHHHHH these are tooo cute! they look EXACTLY like pooh! :)

Girl you are awesome! i just made my first batch of cakepops for my Mom on mothers day. they were lemon cake, yellow candy coating… I love the yellow color and may give the POOHs a try!
Adorable! I love Winnie the Pooh! How about the Peanuts characters? Charlie Brown? Lucy? (Lucy’s my favorite because she’s crabby!).
OMG, I’m a follower of your site from about 2 years now… and I was looking for ideas for my 2yo son’s party and its going to be about Pooh!
This are incredible, i have one month to practice!
I just have one question, how much in advance can I make this, and how do you store it?
Greetings from Mexico!! :D

Bakerella, U da Bomb!
I’d love to see a contest where the winners can come n pop with you (like your field trip to Pioneer Woman)….
OH.MY.GOSH. Seriously? Beyond cute … beyond amazing. Besides having incredible talent and creativity, what is extremely impressive about these (and YOU) is the patience it must take to make them …. wow.
The hunny pots are ingenious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So simple and so perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so creative, and how the heck do you get the pops so perfect looking? awesome.
You are amazing . . . I would love to meet you someday!
Oh my! My daughter would go crazy over these things. Too bad you aren’t local… or even in the same country. I’d totally order some for her.
Me encanta todo lo que hacen…!!!!!!! son extraordinarias….felicitaciones!!!!!!!
You DO beat all!!
I’m curious – Bakerella, what’s YOUR favorite Cake Pop, either for taste or cuteness?
…as always – you are the Cupcake Pop Goddess!!! I can’t wait for your book to come out…you have truly been an inspiration to me!!! I look forward to creating your masterpieces also…
BLOWN AWAY! You’re like the Cake Pop ROCK STAR of cuteness and perfection! Awesome Bakerella!
These are absolutely adorable!! Everything you do is so perfect and I only wish I could make cake pops half as beautiful as yours!! I need to take a class from you :)
you’re my homepage – you make my day
Bakerella – how about some teenage mutant ninja turtle
OH MY GOODNESS gracious me oh my! These are my favorites so far out of all your cake pops. I am partial to Pooh though……..Have a great day!
Oh my, these are too cute for words!
you are so smart. I love these.
I love all your cake pops, but Pooh is by FAR the CUTEST little pop I’ve ever seen!
I’ve been checking out your site for weeks…but this is the first time I’ve left a comment. Your cake pops are soooo cute – great inspiration for this granny! I’ve taken some of your idea’s and applied to dipped marshmallows – lots of fun, and the kids loved them (albeit sugar overload!). Thanks for sharing your idea’s.
wow – like everyone said, awesome. The “hunny” cups are too cute! Love it – thank you.
How in the world do you get the chocolate coating so smooth? When I make them I just stick to the regular balls, and I use the good chocolate… but I still have to sit there and tap the balls against the bowl to get the extra chocolate off (sometimes the balls fall off the stick into the bowl… oops) and the ones that survive still are never nearly as smooth as yours!
Just when I think you can’t possibly out due yourself…you do! I LOVE Winnie the Pooh and cannot believe how amazing these are…you make it look SOOO easy. Thanks for all your hard work and inspiration!
I’m totally amazed every time I see one of your creations!! You’re incredible!! How do you get such a completely smooth finish on each of the pops? I can do cake pops that taste good, but they always end up a bit bumpy – the texture of the cake ball underneath the coating shows through. And how do you keep from getting a pool of extra coating? Mine often end up like the top of the Honey Pots even if I let the extra drip off.
seriously! you are my hero!
Just when I thought you couldn’t get any cuter, my mind is blown! Nom, nom!
Adorable! I can’t wait to see your book.
Super cute as usual! I am always amazed at what cake pop design you are going to come up with next!
amazing!! My kids are yelling at the screen for me to make these!
Awesome!!! No words…
These are my favorite you have done…too cute!!!!!
Sorry, I was so excited to posted I left off the most important part…WE WANT SPONGEBOB! My kids love looking at you site as much as I do! Thanks for your hard work.
Holy cow! You never cease to amaze us! You are an artist!
These are just adorable!! I was on Amazon today and your book came up as a recommendation. I’m so excited for you! Can’t wait to get it.
How do you manage to get the smooth cover with your candy melts. I have a lot of problems with the colored ones, never melt the right way to get a nice and smooth covering, even using paramount crystals. Please advice what brand and technique you are using.
I LOVET SO MUCH, IS FANTASTIC WORK.
you are absoutely amazing!!! I follow your projects with great anticipation. And you never disappoint!! Fantastic! Pooh is my all-time favorite guy.
Okay, I’m a Winnie fan (who isn’t?) but I think it’s a tragedy he’s represented with honey, his terrible addiction, and not Piglet, his one true friend.
Come on, you know you wanna do Piglet.
Everybody loves Piglet.
(Ironically, this persuasiveness is just how honey calls out to Pooh.)
oh my gosh! they are so awesomely cute!
“ok” so I saw that they was less then 100 comments on this one. So I had to make a comment..lol “89” people.. anyways.. these a really cute.. How does she get those little black “eyes” sprinkles to sick? amazing…
WOW!!! WOW!!!! If I could do cart wheels, I’d be doing them across the floor. These are so cute. I think I will have to treat myself to these for MY birthday.
Oh my gosh you have outdone yourself I love Pooh! So creative as always!!!
OMG, those are adorable!
OMG ~ they are perfect! Absolutely adorable:) When are you going to put out a book????
OK! I admit it. I am the only person in the world who has not tried to make these yet. I have bought all the stuff and have been so busy that it hasn’t happened.
I am glad I waited because these are the most adorable!!! I am going to give them a try this week!! Fingers crossed that they turn out!!!
So cute!! They are perfect!
Just when I think you’ve done everything you pull out Pooh Bear! They’re awesome! Way to go Bakerella :)
Yet another amazing creation! You’re so patient. How is the book coming along? i can’t wait for more news!!!
adorable lol, love winnie the poo!
Adorable!! You are so incredibly talented. :)
Adorable! You captures Pooh’s shape and expression perfectly. My last cupcake ball attempt did not fair too well, but I’m getting the urge to try again. I think a little less frosting and a lot more patience is all this Bakerella groupie needs. :)
Have a great week Bakerella!
-Rachel from A Cupcake for Moose
Cupcake ball so not popstar worthy post (yet): hehe :)
You never cease to amaze me – these are fantastic! I was showing your creations to my 10 yr. old daughter, and she was in awe.
I prefer the HUNNY pots. Would you serve these with hunny? And… where’s Piglet? Eeyore? Tigger?! XD
Okay, so what CAN’T you do?!?
These are so amazing!! You are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I just love these! You’re an artist and a creator! BRAVA!!!
Awesome! Calvin & Hobbes are incredibly popular over here too (UK) and for good reason i reckon.
And hey, i love the fact that the graphic at the bottom of your post with the link to the full instructions is called ‘Pooh button’, heh. Sweet.
C’est très mignon ! Quelle créativité !

ME ENCANTA !!!!!!!
LA IDEA MUY BUENA Y MUY BIEN EJECUTADA.
Wow, adorable:) I just wished I lived in the States so it would be easier to find all the baking needs!
Your creativity is astonishing! Well done.
Omg these are precious! I love Pooh; always loved watching him during my Saturday morning cartoons. :3
STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT! You’re killing me with the cuteness.
You are just too amazing for words – so creative!! They look absolutely adorable!!
I’m speechless – quite simply because I have totally run out of creative ways of telling you how talented and wonderful you are!
I got so excited when I saw these!! So cute! Great idea! You are very talented!
Are cake pops an original idea of yours bakerella?
I can’t stand it. I would totally eat you up in a heartbeat if I met you. I bet you are as delicious as your treats!

That’s crazy impressive:)
that was incredible. you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. not to mention your hand-eye coordination… :)
<3 <3 <3
You are soooo creative. those are so adorable, I probably wouldn’t even eat them!
AMAZING! I love the step by step tutorial. One day I’ll gather enough courage and take a stab at this!
Holy crumb, you really are the queen of cake pops!
Oh man they are so cute.
I wish that one day I can try some of your fantastic cake ball shapes on my own. Because here in Germany we don’t have candy melts and so I’ve to buy tons of food coloring ;)
So cute! And sometime down the road, if you get the notion to figure out a Tigger or Piglet to go with our friend Pooh, I’d be ever so grateful! :D
Yo Gabba Gabba, btw, draws a lot of comparisons to H.R. Pufnstuf, I suppose because both shows have life-size “puppet” characters that no one can quite explain, but my son seems to find Gabba a lot less threatening than I thought the other show was at his age. Gabba may appear a little strange at first, but it is really lots of musical fun!
Those are AWESOME!
LOL I think your whole mind set must change when you start baking cake pops to have your wonderful vision of using a sprinkle as a eye ball and from your testimonies of doing regular shopping and suddenly happen to find the perfect white candy for eye balls and buying them as many as you can find ….. the chocolate wafers for mouths etc etc etc …Bakerella thank you so much for sharing your visions with us wanna -be bakers !….and I am still looking forward to your book
Oh my goodness…how stinkin’ adorable are these Winnie the Pooh cake-pops… These are something I will have to try this week!
OH!!! My friend’s little girl has a birthday coming up and the theme is Teddy Bear’s picnic…I will try making there is brown!!
When is the book available??
Adorable! So, will these Winnie the Pooh cake pops be making an appearance in your new cookbook? And…I am getting anxious…when will that be available for purchase?! I am waiting!
I am so excited to try making cake pops for the first time!!!! You have totally inspired me!!!!!!! I tell everyone about your site!!! I love it so much :-)
OMG! You’ve done it AGAIN!
You are SO good at characters- spot on!
Oh you are just toooooo clever! A true artiste!
I love pooh bear! They are so adorable, the honey pots are just so perfect along with cuddly pooh bear! Makes me want to hear him talk to Christopher Robin under the tree again.Nothing like best friends! Love what comes to mind when you see characters that seem to have been around forever, and you never tire of seeing them.
Love Love Love them Pooh is my bear so these melt my heart Pun intended!
I LOVE the hunny pots!
You amaze me with each new creation! You make it look so easy! Cannot wait for your book to come out. Please come to San Francisco for a book signing!!!!!
Shannon – not really, but I have these pool party pops you could start from
Stacey N. – dot on coating with a toothpick. The non-pareil will stick to your finger long enough to transfer and attach in place. No tweezers necessary.
Really cute! How in the world did you get those tiny non perels to stick? Did you use a tweezer to pick ti up?
Love, love all of your stuff!!!!
I was wondering if you have ever done any Luau pops in anyway?
Thanks for always posting such beautiful pictures.
You are truly fantastic! I cannot stress this enough.
You have got to be kidding me?! Please tell me you are making lots of $$$ making these! They are INCREDIBLE. You are inspiring! Well done. TTFN! ta ta for now. As Tigger would say!
LOVE……LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are planning a September trip to Disney World! The 1st ride my grandson wants to do is Winnie-the-pooh! I can’t wait to try these :) Thank-you Bakerella:)
What is the name of your book? And these are so cute.
awww these pooh bears are absolutely PERFECT! you did such a great job making these bakerella! i could follow along the tutorial, but mine would look nothing like yours!!!
love them!!! winnie the pooh is my favorite!
I just turned to my husband and said, “seriously, This Bakerella is AMAZING!”
beautiful AND amazing!!! (and probably delicious, too!)
Jill – one of those will be in the book and one of those will be on the blog. So you’re in luck.
Shannon – If they are too moist, just try adding less frosting. They are not going to be dry though. Don’t give up. Make them all the way through. Once you dip in coating they’ll be fine. And even better the second or third day.
I would love to see a bug theme next. Like lady bugs and bumblebees and such….
Everytime I come here I’m always amazed. WOW!!!
This is insanely amazing!!!!!!
I tried to make cakeballs over the weekend, but the cake was mushy and had the texture of wet cake…gross. Can’t figure out what I did.
you are incredible.
as always, AMAZING!!! ;-)
A-freakin’DORable!!! I’m thinking baby shower!
