Are you ready for some footballs?

IMG_3540

Okay, so I realize it’s almost too late to post something Super Bowl related and all – seeing as how the big game is tomorrow night. But, I found the cutest little football candles at Cake Art and I couldn’t pass up using them. So, to keep things relatively quick and easy, I went for cupcakes.

IMG_3607

Little football field cupcakes. I used Martha’s One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake Recipe. One, because it’s a quick, yummy recipe and two… it all takes place in … you guessed it … one bowl. Less mess.

IMG_3537

The numbers for the field are made using tiny tiny cookie cutters and cutting out the shapes from rolled fondant. You can also pipe on the numbers with buttercream.

IMG_3556

You can find fondant it in most craft stores. Roll it out thin and cut out your numbers. You’ll also need to cut some thin, straight strips to go in between each number on top of the cupcake.

IMG_3557

Make and tint your frosting. I used kelly green icing color with this buttercream frosting recipe.

IMG_3560

I frosted the cupcakes one at a time so they would be moist when I applied the fondant pieces. Just press them into the frosting and then dip the top and sides of your cupcake into a small bowl filled with sanding sugar. White or light green works great.

IMG_3563

The crystals will stick to the frosting and the numbers will stay clean. As you press, the cupcake, rotate and help smooth out the frosting so you have a round top.

If you don’t have football candles, you can center the numbers at the very top instead of towards the front of the cupcake and just have little football fields.

If you don’t have football candles, you can also make your own oreo football truffles like these.

footballs

Just lay them on their sides on the tops of the cupcakes. I know… who has time to do that? The game is tomorrow. But that’s the good thing about the oreo truffles… no actual baking, so that saves you a little time.

Now, by some stroke of luck, you do have these football candles, you’ll need to leave an opening at the top so the candles can be inserted without messing up your fondant stripes. Like below.

IMG_3573

IMG_3579

There you go… cute little football field cupcakes.

Relatively easy to decorate with great visual appeal.

I should have stopped there, but then I lost my mind and decided to recreate the Super Bowl XLIV Logo out of fondant.

Umm… this took me a little while to cut out. Therefore… I just made one.

IMG_3683

Definitely would have been easier on a larger scale. I also made a Colts and Saints cupcake to finish off the set. The shiny effect on the Saints cupcake is achieved by painting the fondant top surface with Mahogany luster dust. First the fondant was tinted light brown with icing color.

IMG_3663

To make the logo out of fondant, I printed the logo out on paper and cut out all the different pieces with an x-acto knife to use as templates. Kind of like putting a puzzle together.

White border – One fondant shape
Blue background – One fondant shape, but smaller
Orange letters – a pain in my you know what.
Red edible ink pen for details.

If you remember, the Mii cupcakes… it’s the same technique.

IMG_3666

Paper templates.

Now, I recently heard about a new technology that will make this whole process a breeze. If you scrapbook, you’ve probably heard of a Cricut Cutter. Well, they are coming out with something called Cricut Cake. It will cut out fondant shapes in seconds. One thing I don’t know for sure and maybe one of you do. Will the Cricut Cake cut out any shape? Can it be programmed with custom designs or does it simply come with preset designs. That’s gonna make a huge difference. Anyone know?

IMG_3745

Okay, so who’s gonna take it? Saints or Colts?

IMG_3549

P.S. I have 1 pack of party pics and logo napkins for the Saints and another set for the Colts that I’m not using. I know… don’t fall out of your seat with excitement. But, I’m not gonna use them and I thought one of you might like them for later. The first fan for the Saints and the first fan for the Colts that asks for them, gets them. (Make sure I can contact you.)

Enjoy the game.

  3. Hi Bakerella! Love you creativeness!

I have a Circut for scrapbooking, but not the Cricuit Cake. There is a realtively inexpensive software package, call SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) that allows you to create thousands of custom logos. I bought the software, but haven’t have time to play with it yet. I watched a few Youtube videos & lots of cool designs.
Thanks for your tips!! Love you stuff! Even bought your cakepop book!

  4. Love your creativity! Also, thank you SO much for the unselfishness and sharing how to do (or try) your creations! By the way F.Y.I. “One thing I don’t know for sure and maybe one of you do. Will the Cricut Cake cut out any shape? Can it be programmed with custom designs or does it simply come with preset designs. That’s gonna make a huge difference. Anyone know?” I have the Cricut-last years model before printer ink added. And “no” you can not program it for shapes at this time you can only purchase cartridges they have many to chose from some pricey..

  5. amazing!!!!! :) cant wait til the steelers are in so i can start baking!! :D

Just bought your book yesterday, looove it!

making my first cake pops in just a moment hehe

  6. A Cricut will cut pre-programed shapes from 100’s of cartridges that you buy separately. But you can buy software that will allow you to use your Cricut to cut all kinds of shapes and fonts. P.S. Buying a Cricut is the best investment ever made! The Cricut Cake is going to be a-mazing!

  7. I know I am late, but to answer your questions on the Cricut, yes it can cut a lot of different shapes. If you are a member of Cake Central, you can see some examples there. Also, there is a DVD by Linda McClure that came out a while ago and she actually uses a Cricut Expressions for her gunmpaste. If you want to use a reg Cricut with fondant you have to add gumtex or tylose powder as it tears too easily and is too gummy without. I have seen some very beautiful work that has been done with the Cricut and it is actually a great thing to me because I can bake my backside off but decorating??? In the day of all the fondant and 3d, I think the Cricut really levels the playing field. I hope this info is useful. OH! There is software that you can get called Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL). It costs about 90.00 but it has so many different fonts and graphics for your cricket and there is even an awesome website with additional add ons for like 5.99 versus the 89.99 for Cricut cartridges. INFO OVERLOAD..sorry:(

  8. I absolutely love, love, love this website and have been inspired to make many of your wonderful treatments much to the amazement of family and friends. Thank you so much for for inspiring me to be creative.

I too have printed on the frosting sheets from kopykat with ink cartridges that I purchased from them as well using a Canon printer, however, my prints or no where near as vibrant as yours and sort of disappointing. Can you tell me what Canon printer you are using. as I need to replace mine so that I get the same results as you. Thanks again.

  9. I love your stuff. I made some Cupid cake pops for a Valentine’s Dinner Party I hosted for 20. They turned out so well. Let me know how to submit a photo and I’ll share them with you. Of course I used red velvet cake !

  10. Love your cupcakes! One question though…how do you keep the liners so bright? I use really cute liners, and then after they come out of the oven you can’t see the color/design any longer. Any tips for that??

  11. How do you get your cupcakes to look so nice and rounded on the top???

  12. Love it your soo creative!

  13. these are soo cute, you have such great ideas, keep them coming and happy blogging ;)

  14. How cute ! I’m a little late here, as the game was 4 days ago. But I did make the oreo truffle footballs. Everybody loved them.
I think my husband moaned when he tried his first one.

  15. hello from south louisiana! i know this comment is a few days late but its the first day i’ve woken up without the room spinning since the epic Saints victory on Sunday! I love these cupcakes. I used a fleur de lis cookie cutter to make sugar cookies and let the kids decorate their own cookies at our party. I attempted to make the football truffles but couldn’t shape them right. I settled on rolling all of the truffle mixture onto a cookie sheet and letting it harden in the freezer so i could use a small football cookie cutter, then cover them in chocolate. not quite the same effect, but still tasty. the one idea i really wanted to do but just didn’t have the time for is something i hope to see on your website for next superbowl. i wanted to bake yellow cupcakes and frost with black icing then pipe the players last names and jersey numbers on the cupcakes! just enough to cover the defensive line anyway. thanks for the cute cupcakes ;] geux saints!

PS> are you going to do something for Mardi Gras? please!!

  16. I love those cupcakes…being a LA native, it was a fun game to watch!
Okay, so my mother is the person who invented the idea of using the cricut to cut gumpaste…she sells DVD’s and has been doing this for over a year. She said if you email her (jefflindamcclure@bellsouth.net) she will send you one so you can see what it is all about and maybe give her a little PR for her site :)
Her website where she sells the DVD’s is creativedesignscakes.com and there are a ton of pictures of cakes she’s done using the cricut instead of a template. It is so easy! I made Mickey Mouse cupcakes with mouse heads they were SO CUTE and SO EASY to create! I think you’d LOVE this method…check out my mom’s site and get in touch with her…once you start to use the cricut or ANY paper cutting system to cut gumpaste, you will never look back…oh, and if you already have a “regular” cricut, that is great b/c you don’t need the “new” cricut that will cost $400.

  17. Love them! I did the oreo truffle footballs this year and they were a hit!

Any plans for a Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras post??

  18. Football itself I’m not so on board with, but eating football themed cupcakes? I can totally get into that idea! Thanks for making football something I can relate to! ;)

  19. Hi Bakerella,

Just an FYI, many, many people have used the existing cricuts (yep all of the different ones – expression, create, personal) with the deep cut blade and housing on gumpaste for a few years now. I’m a regular on cakecentral.com and there is a huge thread about how to use the original cricut with gumpaste. someone just recently had success with candy clay (molded chocolate) also. HTH! I got a cricut for Christmas, and just got the SCAL program so I’m going to be giving it a shot soon!

  20. Looked up the Cricut Cake
Looks awesome, if a little pricey.
I was looking up the information and the pictures and from what I can gather it only uses stencils, I don’t think it can cut original designs. Although someone with the original Cricut can probably give you more information.

  21. I would love the Saints picks(from South Louisiana) also made the oreo footballs (2 batches) all gone!!! Thanks for all your ideas! Love your pictures!

  22. wish I’d logged one this weekend but was too busy getting ready for the game!! We’re big Saints fans and I’m so excited we won! Will definitely use the cupcake pattern of the fleur-de-lis for next year-thanks so, so much!!!

  23. Love the cupcakes! I made your football oreo truffles for a Super Bowl party yesterday and they were a HUGE hit! Everyone went nuts over them! Thanks, Bakerella!

  24. Awesome…I might have to get in the kitchen now! ;-) I didn’t read all the comments, so you may have already gotten your answer. But the new Cricut cake thing is something that can be used with a regular Cricut machine. You generally have to have cartridges purchased for the Cricut to get shapes, letters, etc. But you can get a software made by another company that will allow you to use anything you can pull off the computer. It’s pretty sweet really. I can’t wait to try it on fondant! ;-)

  25. Very cute! And now I want that Cricut Cake!!!!

  26. I made the Football Oreo Truffles and they were a hit at our Super Bowl Party! Great Idea!

  27. I made the football truffles and they turned out pretty great for a beginner like me!!! Check em out:

    http://stacysaysblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/superbowl-baking-etc.html

    Love you Bakerella!

  28. Check out this website for computerizing your Cricut machine

  29. I would love the saints set..We got displaced by hurricane Katrina and ended up in Tennessee. It was wonderful to watch our team win :) My husband and I both cried watching our team and the views of Burbon street :) –Look fowards to u picking a winner :) -who dat!!!-

  30. These cupcakes are so cute and adorable. What a very clever idea

  31. Way to go Saints! Too bad I didn’t see the football cup cakes until now.

  32. I made the football truffles on Thursday and have been steadily eating them over the weekend. They’re so cute. And addictive.

  33. These look so gorgeous… And I love the colors too!Love it!These would also a nice wedding favor…

  34. these are so cute. cooking for the super bowl is the only thing I enjoy about the super bowl haha

  35. Hi bakerella! I am new to your site and love, love your adorable creations. I have a question about your cupcake pops. I would like to make them for a valentine treat for my son’s class. What size bags do you use to wrap them individually?

  36. Bakerella, you are such an inspiration! After seeing this I made the football field cupcakes for my Super Bowl party! I’m a college student and my friends were very impressed that I made them from scratch, so thank you thank you thank you! Love your blog!

  37. LOVE the cupcakes – I am going to make these for tailgating next season. WAR EAGLE!

  38. Thanks all for the Cricut info. I’ve never used one, but if the Cricut cake will let me make my own custom graphics… even if I have to hack it to make it work, then I’m all in. These superbowl cupcakes would have been much easier.

And Delia – thanks for the heads up. Yes it appears someone has done that. I’ve emailed them. Thanks again.

  39. So cute! You always have the best ideas. :D

  40. just wondering, is this person stealing your photos to sell these oreo truffles on Etsy? http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39863994

  41. I think you might be the most patient person I know.

  42. These are so cute! I dont like football but these are adorable!

  43. should add…those two programs are not endorsed by provo craft the creaters of the cricut..they have a program that works with CARTRIDGES..called Design Studio…I have that as well..dislike it very much.

  44. CRICUT INFO there are two programs that work with your computer to cut any font of SVG design on a cricut. I am assuming it will work with the cricut cake. The names of the programs are making the cut and Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL) I have SCAL and love it.

  45. SO CUTE !
i hope you don’t mind i reblogged your adorable superbowl cupcakes :

    http://bisousmonamourrevised.blogspot.com/2010/02/superbowl-sunday.html

    <3

  46. Go Colts ! ! ! ! Hope everyone has fun and enjoys the game. May the best team win and to the losers team…well, you made it to the Super Bowl !

  47. Those are toooooo cute! Wish i had seen them earlier! would have brought them to the party tonight! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!

  48. honestly cricut cake??? that is intresting….but to answer your question if it is anything like the paper cricut you have to buy cartridges and cut only what is on them. the cricut has a pc application also but i think you need the cartridges also. i have a wishblade so i do not have to worry about all of that. i just cut what i want! cool idea though!

  49. I LOVE your blog! I’m a TRUE Saints fan and loved seeing you make Superbowl desserts!

  50. Bakerella, you kill me. You are just too much. Awesome. These are adorable and I appreciate the time-saving elements. I have two young ones here and have finally accepted the fact that I will need to take advantage of short cuts for many years. Difficult for someone who does everything the long and hard way by nature. Really, though, these are fantastic! Thank you so much for your uplifting site!

  51. From the great state of Louisiana! WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. Adorable! Haven’t ventured into fondant yet…. Check my “amateur” superbowl cupcakes :) Not as cute as yours, but the guys’ll eat ’em up anyway! http://www.flickr.com/photos/gritty49/4337418419/

  53. About the Cricut – take a look at thepinkstamper.blogspot.com
She has numerous posts about the Cricut and she has a programme where she makes her own designs on the computer. They will probably make something similar for the Cricut Cake.

  54. I’m about to ice some Colts cupcakes for our party this afternoon– wish I had thought ahead to just order something!

  55. You are the BOMB – I love your art, I wish I had your time and talent. I absolutely LOVe receiving your updates. Thank you for your kindness. Katy

  56. Saints are gonna take it and even if they don’t they sure deserve it more!

  57. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!! I’m going to make some of these! i’ve been wanting to make superbowl cupcakes because i’m so proud of my saints making it to the superbowl but i havent… today’s the day..a little late but today’s the day!!!!!!!!! woo hoo! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  58. The Cricut Cake sounds so cool! I may be investing in one of those in the future… :)

  59. I wonder if the cake cutting program can be used with the scal program (surecutsalot)? Love your cupcakes.

  60. Too cute and yummy looking!!!

  61. hi bakerella!!! i CANNOT believe you cut that by hand!!! so for the cricut cake – i was also at the launch party and will be getting one from them for free WOOHOO! i am pretty expert on the paper cricut and also spent LOTS of time with the provo VP (HILARIOUS PICS ON MY BLOG – we held him *hostage*) and can answer any questions you have. i see conflicting info in the comments so here is the scoop.

you DO NOT need the gypsy (i see no need for it because i never design away from home)

you CAN cut your own designs – three software programs are available –
design studio by provocraft – you manipulate shapes from the cartridges into your own shapes
sure cuts alot (SCAL) – outside software that lets you cut out ny image but has a somewhat difficult learning curve. however there are lots of talented folks who do the designing and you can buy the file to cut it for cheap
Make The Cut (MTC) – outside software that also allows you to cut any image but with no difficult learning curve. uses the same file type as SCAL

yes provocraft will say using them voids the warranty BUT they have not enforced it nor could they even tell as far as i know.

i tasted the gumpaste they will be producing along with the machine and it actually tastes good!

for YOU it will be a must have FOR SURE!
    hugs
    marti {pezadoodle}

  62. Hey Bakerella – Thanks for the spirited post today! The Cricut sure sounds intriguing but I would want to customize…bet they don’t have a cartridge for Superbowl logos and Mii’s. Anyway, your fondant-topped cupcakes are SO perfect. Will you consider a tutorial? We tried to make ornament cupcakes like these over the holidays & they were either too big, too small, etc…Thanks again!

  63. OK- seriously. You are a genius. I was planning on making the truffles but thought, SURELY we wil need more sweets than those. Oh- I know, I’ll make some cupcakes. and JUST a few minutes ago I was trying to come up with a way to make them footbally… so I think… hm I will see what Bakerella has…. AND VOILA! Football truffle cupcakes….. genius! Thanks!!

  64. Colts all the way!!!

  65. I am sure all the boys will love these with these after their chicken wings…ha!! Well, I know I would!!!

  66. Go Colts!

  67. GO COLTS!!!

  68. Sorry, didn’t want to sound upset or snotty or anything. I was all excited that only one comment was there and realized I “might” just win something. LOL
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and talents!

  69. I’m all for the COLTS!!!! They are gonna bring it home. :)

  70. I LOVE the Cricut cutter, and that would be awesome if they made that for baking!!! I can’t wait to see how it works…I love my Cricut!!

Very cute cupcakes, thanks for sharing!

  71. Oh my God …ur are so fantastic dear bakerellla…super talented and creatively blessed….
YEt another fantastic creation and it rocks…..

  72. Wish I had seen this earlier!

    GO COLTS! <3

Those are DARLING and look DEEEEELICIOUS! Although…man…you went above and beyond with these. Awesome. :D

  73. Adorable as always!

    GO COLTS!!

  74. Absolutely adorable as always. :)

  75. GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Anyway, yes you can absolutely design your own things to cut using any of the Cricut machines out there now. The program I use is called Sure Cuts A Lot. It voids your warranty like other have mentioned, but it in no way harms your machine. Any shape you can design in photoshop or any shape you might find online, you can cut it out. It’s amazing!! You’d love it for cakes & so much more! I use mine all the time to cut vinyl to make stencils for etching glass. There’s some pics of my projects on my blog.

  76. Bakerella, you are in the words of my littlest guy AMAZA-ZING!
these are too cute….and i am just getting around to posting a super bowl related something or another on my blog so you are definetly not the last!

  77. Awesome! Love the small numbers. I just used the letter cutters to write “Happy Birthday” out of fondant on a cake I made on my blog! Cute Cupcakes!

  78. I live near New Orleans and I say “Go Saints!” it’s about time that we finally won the SuperBowl! Who Dat! I love the cupcakes too, BTW. You just amaze me everytime.

  79. WHO DAT?! What an exciting day for us here in NOLA: A huge election and it’s Saints Saturday! We drove down to the quarter this am just to soak it all in. We’re all going craaaaaazy!

  80. The cricut cake does cut out images that are on the cartridges yes, however you can buy a gypsy (which is hand held and you can make any design on it and sent it to your cricut machine) so as long as you have both machine and the gypsy you can do any design that you would like too. If you go to the provo craft site there is more info and if you give them your email they will send you updates on it. I am excited for it.

  81. ADORABLE as always! Your talent never ceases to amaze me!!

    {{HUGS}}

  82. I think you will love the Cricut Cake. It looks like a scrapbook cutting machine but is specially designed with food grade plastics and stainless steel so it can safely and appropriately cut out the fondant and gum paste. I think they plan to produce 10 colors of each to sell in preprepared sheets to cut. There is software available on the internet to cut your own designs but using it voids your warranty. Cricut plans to come out with dozens of design cartridges ( I heard rumors of 100 new ones this year alone) and already has a great variety of design cartridges available that you can use with the machine. The images can be cut in a wide variety of sizes I do not remember the exact width (about 11 inches wide) and up to 2 feet in length I believe for some designs. Do contact Provo Craft to learn more. It looked very interesting when I saw it at CHA. Should be nice for folks who cut fondant designs a lot.

  83. I just LOVE your blog, it makes me so happy to read your blog!! Thanks for taking the time to make your awesome creations and then the time to post the blogs for all of us, you rock and you totally make my day!

  84. Angie you knock our socks off. Clever girl. I’m going with the Saints (hoping anyway).

  85. Ohh…and are the Saints picks still available?? I want I want I want!! lol

  86. It’s all about the Saints! I’m a Louisiana girl and you know I’m BEYOND thrilled they have made it this far!!

GEAUX SAINTS! WHO DAT!! WE DAT!!

  87. Go Saints! Seriously, you do this? You are killing me. How much would it cost for 2 dozen Rottweiler cookies for the vet who saved my dog’s life. Not kidding. saved his life, The vet has 7 children and my dog spent 3 nights at their house. that family needs cookies, cookies from you. Please let me know. His wife rocks my world. Can you imagine 7 children and random dogs just showing up when the Dr. says so….oy veh!
Let me know what it would cost?

  88. Hi Bakerella – first off – magic. LOVE the football madness!

I was at the big launch party for that Cricut Cake machine and have tested it out. It is virtually the same machine as the cricut, except designed for sugar gum paste/(thin frozen)fondant food cutting use instead of paper.

The way it works is that you use an image cartridge and program in whatever one(s) you’re wanting cut, how many, size, etc. It can get really intricate and there is a huge library of images available. If you go to http://www.provocraft.com they have images & info up.

They will be sending me one (I know, lucky me) when they’re available and I’ll be testing + reviewing. As a professional paper crafter who loves baking I’m STOKED!

  89. Showed hubby and he loves the Colts cupcakes and the football cupcake.

  90. I made chocolate footballs the hard way…. and I think I will have to buy some molds!! My Dad makes signs and had a thin piece of PVC plastic, so I cut out a football shape and melted some chocolate chips in the microwave. Then I spooned some chocolate in the hole of my ‘template’ and then – pull the template straight up. It’s very hard to get the perfect shape. I made about 24 footballs and only 3 look good. But they taste good!! :P

  91. those are adorable! great idea to you the cupcakes as the “field” I actually made football cake pops for our party tomorrow, so thanks for the inspiration : )

if anyone is interested you can check them out here:
    http://bakedwithloveandbutter.blogspot.com/

  92. so cute! I made red velvet cupcakes today – I didn’t decorate them, but they sure are yummy!

  93. Yummy cupcakes would make Superbowl Sunday so much more doable for those who don’t watch the game. These look awesome! And those truffles? Holy cow! I need to try those ASAP!

  94. I must say I’m amazed by your talent!
    God bless you =)

  95. I could not care less about football. Really, not interested.

Cupcakes, on the other hand, I am VERY interested in and these are totally adorable. I LOVE the yard-line markings! Adorable.

  96. Those are the cutest cupcakes ever! Love ’em!

  97. GO COLTS!!

I went with Colts Cake Pops this year for our celebration. :)

  98. so cleaver and creative….Go Saints!!!

  99. I don’t know if there’s something going on or if the comments are delayed but I asked as well at 5:18 my time and my comment still isn’t coming up?? Bummer, oh well.
Thanks for the ideas anyhow and I LOVE all you make. Wish I had half of your talens. I showed my mom your blog last week and she’s been baking fool!

  100. You’re so fun and talented!

  101. That’s OK. My daughter and I are going to make the Oreo footballs tonight for the game tomorrow. Thanks for all the cute ideas!

  102. So fun!!! I love your theme posts! Go COLTS!!!!!

  103. Bakerella ~ You have been a very busy blogger lately! I am making some homemade raspberry marshmallows for Valentine’s Day. Check out my blog later in the week to see how they turned out!
As always….your creativity and talent is off the charts!

  104. These are fabulous!! Gorgeous photograpy and sweets as usual! Thanks for the ideas!

Funny that you mentioned the Cricut cutter… I was just surfing the net yesterday looking for information on it. It looks like it works like a Scrapbooking cutter would… it has cartridges and all the parts which touch the food (gum paste, fondant etc.), are classified as food safe. I’m not 100% sure about it cutting out ANY shape either, however, from what I’ve gathered it looks the answer is no; you need to use cartridges.

There are apparently other machines out there which can be hooked up to your computer etc. so that you can choose any image. The names I’ve found so far which print that way are called the Gazelle, and the Wishblade. It seems they haven’t been specifically been made for food though.

I guess as long as you only use the tool for one purpose (either food or paper like people do with edible ink printers), it should be okay.

If anyone knows more or different I’d love to find out too!

Thanks again for your awesome baking ideas Bakerella!

  105. Hi Bakerella,
In regards to the Cricut Cake, it cuts out shapes from the cartridges that you buy. There are TONS of cartridges, but I don’t think you can program in your own desings. I may be wrong, but I have the Cricut Expressions (not for cake) and that is how it works for mine. :)

  106. Oh man, those are SO cute!! Love those oreo truffle footballs!

  107. I love the Oreo truffle footballs! As for the Cricut Cake, I would bet that it uses cartridges for designs like all the other Cricut machines. There is software you can buy to design your own shapes though.

  108. Sorry about that, Kristi. That’s why I requested people ask for them if they wanted them. Otherwise, someone could just be choosing the team they were rooting for to win and I wouldn’t know for sure.

  109. I love the football cupcakes! I always look forward to reading your blog for all of your new ideas!!!

  110. Sorry, next time I will ask with better manners and say please. (I am evern having an Etiquitte Valentine’s Tea next Wednesday. I better brush up on those manners!)
