A few weeks ago, my friends over at Cake Art gave me a sample pack of some paper pans in a plethora of shapes and sizes. They thought I might like them. But, I don’t. I love them. You can bake and then turn right around and take your goodies to someone special. Either that or display them at home and turn your kitchen into a coffee shop which could be fun, too.
These tiny ones make me happy. The size. The color. The slightly scalloped edge. Happy.
And so do these tee-niny ones. Eeeeek!
They have cylinder-shaped baking molds and regular muffin cup styles, too. Both of these are sturdy enough that you don’t need a muffin tray to bake them in. Just arrange them on a baking sheet and go.
And look at these cuties. They have lids. Perfect to bake and take.
Since I had all these pans, I had to put something in them.
I went for blueberries and bananas…
… and made some yummy muffins.

Add a little butter while they’re still warm and your tummy will say thank you.
Then tear right in.
I had enough batter to try them out in all of the smaller size pans for fun. The large round paper cake and loaf pans would have to wait for another day.
But you don’t. Cake Art was sweet and gave me a second sample pack. So who wants it? Anyone?

Wow. I really didn’t expect so many people to want to win paper pans. Super surprised. And now I wish I had scored more sample packs from Cake Art. Maybe I’ll get more the next time I make a trip. A raspberry muffin. Where you work at the berries and get them to break down so there are little nuggets of berry goodness throughout…crap…off to bake another batch.

I definitely went on a late-night Perkins run last night and had a chocolate- chocolate chip mammoth muffin. The server even brought whipped cream on the side, and the combination tastes like a Ho-Ho. Yummm… :D

I love Cake Art! We used the 6″ round paper pans to make lots of individual cakes for my five year old’s birthday party – her guests each decorated her their own cakes. We bought frosting and most of the decorations at Cake Art. Using cooking spray, I was able to reuse the pans several times (we went with paper to save the money on buying specialty real pans). I had a cappuccino chocolate chip muffin a few weeks ago that was out of this world!

One of my fave restaurants here in Halifax gives away awesome individual banana loafs after your meal…as a little take home prize…and they come in these little paper pans.
Oddly enough, their banana bread is one of the best I’ve had so I’d have to say that is my favourite and probably what I would bake in these pans if I had them!

Pinch My Salt’s Orange Walnut Whole Wheat Muffins. Hands-down. That’s a lot of capitalization in that first line.
My most favorite are French Donut Muffins. They were always such a treat when my mom made them. They’re irresistible with all the melted butter and cinnamon and sugar on the outside and the faint hint of nutmeg on the inside- yum!
By far, huckleberry rhubarb. Deeeelicious!

My favorite muffins are Muffin Surprise, which is what my mom called them when we were growing up. They are just basic muffins with a dollop of jam hiding in the center. And you never knew which flavor you were getting until you broke it open. Surprise! Ahh…brings back childhood memories.
