Cake Pops

It’s real. It’s printed. It’s on its way to warehouses and bookstores and stuff. And, it’s crazy. When I started this blog I would never have thought of myself having a book. Ever. Especially one about cake on a stick. I mean really. It’s crazy. Crazy wonderful. I can hardly believe it.

But it is real. My publisher sent me an advance copy to prove it… and I was just plain giddy when I opened it. I gave it a big hug. There was a significant amount of squealing, too.

I really have to thank all you guys. When I first started making the cupcake pops I didn’t realize how popular they would become and especially how quickly. So many of you had questions and were excited to make your own that it inspired me to want to keep making them for you. And then I wanted to make them better and see just how far I could take them. I made so many that after a while, it just made sense to put them together in a book. A book that would also hopefully help answer some of the questions you’ve asked along the way. So thanks for inspiring me to push myself.

Want to see?

Just a little maybe?

Okay. You talked me into it.

Look at the cute, colorful cover.

Hardcover. Yay!

IMG_3488

And here’s the spine…

IMG_3498

…with wiro-binding inside!

Pink wiro-binding which is extra awesome.

IMG_3504

It makes everything prettier when it’s laying flat.

Oh yeah… there’s also a bunch of pop projects inside. Some from the site and just as many brand new.

IMG_3506

And look… there’s even some step-by-step stuff. I hope this helps.

P.S. That’s me pretending to be a hand model.

IMG_3518

Pages. Real pages and lots of them.

All that rolling and dipping and decorating. The writing and photography and editing. Hours and hours at the computer. Did I really do all that? Was that me? So much work, but so worth it to see it all finished.

IMG_3509

Plus, when I look inside … it just makes me happy.

IMG_3531

I hope it makes you happy, too. Especially all of you who’ve made cake pops. Give a shout out if you’ve tried them before. I’d love to hear.

Cake Pops available in September or you can pre-order from the following…

You are amazing. Your book looks fantastic. I really can’t translate Congrats enough.

All this best — I’m off to my local Chapters-Indigo to buy the book!

  6. Congratulations! It is a beautiful, beautiful book.

  7. I made the pool party cake pops with the Teddy Grahams for my son’s end of year (wait for it) POOL PARTY! I made little swimsuits on the bears and painted sunglasses on them, and I used the gummi Life Savers for life preservers and even some of the sweet-and-sour Extreme Airheads (I think?) Rainbow Belts to make pretty beach towels for them. They were so cute, and such a huge hit! Took FOREVER for me to make, and it looked like my kitchen exploded when I was done, but dang, they were cute!

  8. *squeals* this is so exciting!!

I already pre-ordered my copy from Amazon months and months ago – can’t wait to get it!!

  14. I haven’t made any yet! But, when I start planning my wedding, since I’m doing my own cake, I want to make cake pops! My soon-to-be-husband, who is a dinosaur fanatic, wants to have dinosaur cake toppers. I’m thinking of trying to make dino cake pops to go along with that theme. I have lots of practice time, haha.

  15. Congrats on your book!! I preordered on amazon, I cant wait to get it!! I made your hello kitty pops for a bake sale at work to raise money for the NH SPCA. They didn’t come out as pretty as yours but they sold out in a matter of minutes. I guess my crying over how ugly they turned out was a bit dramatic since people thought they looked adorable! I cant wait to try to make more. :)

  16. Yea for you, I can only imagine how exciting it is and can’t wait to be able to hold my own copy!

  19. I can’t wait to get my hands on your book! I’ve made cake pops and cake balls several times. My big problem……I don’t have a big enough fridge to hold them when I make them. Plus, a lot of the time the cake ball falls right off the stick when it gets too warm. Grr. Too much frosting? I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing. You’re so talented!!! :) Congrats!

  20. Congratulations! I’ve made cake pops from this site last Christmas :)

Will you do a book tour?
