Went to Chicago (home town) and spent time with my mom, my college roomie, my nephew’s family & newest baby (in from San Francisco), drove up to Milwaukee to see a bunch of cousins for the first time in 7 years, ate the requisite hot dog (topped with the traditional mustard, onion, relish, tomato), and brought back my husband’s favorite deep dish pizza (frozen for travel)!

Its been a long, hot summer so far, fairly uneventful. So after listening to my hubby repeatedly grumble about the HUGE cat that keeps overturning our garbage can on the deck and rummaging thru the contents, I decided to stake out the can… from the safety of the kitchen of course! Boredom turned to excitement tonight, because the “HUGE cat” turned out to be a LARGE RACCOON!! (probably looking to lick the inside of the empty, store bought, ice cream carton in the garbage can!!) Not the first time we have had hungry raccoons around, but its been a number of years and I always get excited to see the wildlife that visits!
