Hey Boos! Let’s kick off October with some of my favorite Halloween-themed sweets. We’re talking frightfully cute cakes, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops – decorated with candies and more. I hope they make you scream with delight and inspire your baking adventures over the next few weeks.
Let’s take a little peek…
1. Werewolf Cookies
The perfect little Howl-o-ween treat. These soft chocolate sugar cookies with chocolate buttercream are screaming for you to sink your teeth into a few. These are fave!
2. Many Mini Mummies
Bite-size chocolate cookies decorated with fondant and candy eyes. These are easy to decorate. You just need a black edible ink writing pen to make them look all wrapped up and ready. Have fun when dotting the eyes to give them varying expressions.
3. Boo-meringues
These ghoulishly cute meringues are crisp on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. Bonus: they are easy to make and decorate, too. And if you want to put them on display, try this Boo-meringue cake.
4. Candy Corn Cake Pops
Halloween would not be complete around my house without cake pops and these triple-dipped candy corn pops are just about as cute as they come. I have tons more spooky pops from my Cake Pops Halloween Book. Unfortunately that book sold out and I only have a few of the how-tos currently on the site. These are one of them.
5. Candy Corn Crawlers
I’ll never look at candy corn the same way again. I mean look at those legs! I’m still so happy and in love with how these cookies came together. Creepy, crawly and cute. They are an absolute all-time fave.
6. Trick or Treat Mini Cakes
These little individual layer cakes scream happy – covered with bright, bold colors and topped off with tiny candies to resemble trick or treat bags. I’m in love.
7. Itty-Bitty Bat Cupcakes
You’ll go batty for these mini cupcakes with homemade Oreo cookies for the wings.
8. Pumpkin Pie Bites
These bite-size pies go way back. You can make them with faces or without. Either way they will be a favorite at your next fright feast.
9. Very Cute Vampires
Here’s another cake pop design I have on the site that’s from my Cake Pops Halloween Book in case you want to give them a go. I love their adorable faces, sweet and especially those red cupcake wrapper capes. Eeek!
10. Frankensquares
Okay, these sugar cookie bars are just adorable. And how about black jelly beans for hair and look how much expression a few carefully placed black jimmies create.
11. Black Cat Cupcakes
Meow! You’ll want these cute cupcakes to cross your path on Halloween.
12. Mini Monster Cakes
It’s a monster mash up with these mini cupcake (Yes! cupcake) layer cakes all dressed up and ready for Halloween.
13. Spider Bites
Enjoy biting into these spiders sitting atop mini cupcakes. They look like gumdrop candies at first glance, but those bums are bursting with buttercream frosting.
14. Oreo Eyeball Cake
Look out! This little three-layer cake will have all eyes on it for Halloween. Use Oreos, candy wafers and black m&m’s to make the eyes pop.
15. Hey Boos! Cake Pops
The cutest trick or treating ghosts complete with tiny pumpkin candy buckets. These little cake pops will make your halloween happier.
16. Yummy Mummy Snack Cakes
These super cute snack cakes are easy to decorate with buttercream frosting, Oreo Cookies and M&M’s candies. Package them up for a spooktacular individual treat.
Hope these treats get you in the mood to make some spooky cute sweets this Halloween!
Enjoy!

Okay but these treats are criminally adorable The werewolf cookies totally stole my heart — soft chocolate + buttercream sounds like a dangerously good combo — and those mini mummies with different eye expressions? Genius and honestly too cute to eat (…but I still would).
This is such a fun and creative roundup thank you for putting all these spooky-cute ideas in one place! I love how you’ve mixed different textures and techniques, from crisp meringues to soft chocolate sugar cookies and layered mini cakes. It makes the whole Halloween baking season feel approachable whether someone is a beginner or more advanced.
The Werewolf Cookies and Frankensquares are especially clever just a few small decorating details (like black jimmies or jelly beans) completely transform simple bakes into character-driven treats. That’s such a great reminder that Halloween desserts don’t have to be complicated to be memorable. And the bite-sized options like Mini Mummies and Pumpkin Pie Bites are perfect for parties, classroom events, or a dessert table where guests want to sample a little of everything.
I also appreciate how many of these rely on easy-to-find ingredients like Oreos, candy corn, M&M’s, and candy wafers. It makes themed baking less intimidating and more about creativity and presentation. The mix of cake pops, cupcakes, cookies, and snack cakes really covers all the Halloween dessert bases from kid-friendly treats to centerpiece showstoppers like the Oreo Eyeball Cake.
Definitely saving this list for October planning. It’s the perfect inspiration for a spooky dessert spread that’s more “delightfully eerie” than truly scary. ?

Okay but this list is dangerously cute The werewolf cookies totally stole my heart (and my sweet tooth), and those mini mummies with different eye expressions? Genius. The boo-meringues sound like the perfect spooky-sweet combo, and don’t even get me started on the candy corn crawlers—creepy, clever, and oddly adorable.

What really stood out to me is how clearly the decorating logic comes through—you can almost see the workflow just by scrolling. From simple base shapes to finishing touches, it feels very approachable even if you’re not an expert baker.
I love how this post balances “spooky” and “cute” so effortlessly—it never tips too far in either direction. The way you use small candy details to create expressions (especially the eyes and little faces) makes everything feel playful instead of intimidating, which is perfect for Halloween baking at home.
This post honestly put me in a Halloween mood right away. The cheerful tone and fun visuals make it feel less about perfection and more about enjoying the creative process, which I really loved.
There’s such a strong sense of personality in each design—none of them feel generic or copied. It feels like every treat tells its own little Halloween story, which makes the whole collection really memorable.
I appreciate how inspiring this feels without being overwhelming. You can tell these ideas are playful and creative, but they still feel doable for a home kitchen, which makes me actually want to try a few of them.
The close-up details and playful faces really stood out to me—especially how a few simple candy elements can completely change the personality of each treat. It’s such a great reminder that small decorating choices can make a big visual impact.
I love how this post balances “spooky” and genuinely cute—that’s actually harder to pull off than it looks. The variety of treats, from cake pops to cookies and mini cakes, makes it feel really approachable no matter your skill level.
OH MY GOSH, you have no idea how timely this is! I was literally banging my head against the wall yesterday trying to figure out the texture for the zombie skin on my daughter’s haunted dollhouse project. Seeing how you used the green candy melts specifically with the fork tines to create that dragged, uneven texture near the bottom of the post just clicked for me—it’s exactly the gritty, unfinished look I needed for the miniature graveyard scene!
Oh my gosh, the edible ink marker detail for the tombstone cookies near the end is exactly what I needed! I was literally pulling my hair out yesterday trying to pipe tiny “R.I.P.” letters onto my haunted graveyard cupcakes for the office party, and it looked like a total mess. I’m running to the craft store right now to grab a black edible marker so I can finally finish these fondant headstones without ruining another batch!
